If anyone knows Tosin’s older rig rundowns he was using the Harlow compressor which had a transformer inside of the pedal and he said it was like turning your amp up instead of a narrowing squash. Looks like that was the catalyst to develop his own version.
Yeah I bought a Harlow like 2 years ago because of that rig rundown. It would be interesting to try this one side by side in a shootout, but my wallet is telling me no right now lol
Not to take away what you guys have done, it surely sounds great, but it seems there is an increase volume when you switch the compressor on. It would have been nice to balance those volumes to really hear what's going on and A/B them on an even plainfield. Making it louder can give the impression it sounds better
i mean theyre just giving us the output they get with no proccessing. which i personally thinm is extremely important. if the pedal has an impact on the volume, i want to know
He literally says in the video that the change in volume and consistency is the exact point of the pedal. Which makes sense, because that's literally the point of all compressors. This is like saying, "it's hard to hear what that delay pedal does because of all the echo it's making." 😂😂
I guess the pedal is not the only thing that's got gains. Tosin gained some thickness too! If things keep expanding that way, he's gonna have trouble getting in those fancy supercars.
Seeing compressor boost pedal coming from Abasi brand, does this mean there will be more pedals, and amp from you guys? Also, will there be a custom guitar options too? (Headshape/bodyshape change, pickup, etc)
lol. Seriously I enjoy more "amateur" mixes from random youtubers than most modern professional releases. I've listened Parrhesia with dt 990 pro - drums are squashed by clipper, got good magnetic-planar headphones - drums are still squashed 😤At least in the pedal's demo drums are "loud" - fun to listen.
thicc sound
thicc Tosin
geez you guys killed it with the lighting in this vid, the guitar looks like it's coming through the screen

I would love to see a video where you adjust the different parameters in an in-depth demo.

@ you’re missing my point. Regardless of the volume change, a comparison with balanced volumes is still possible. Just match the db in post production

Why does this channel only have 8.6k subs?
I'm really interested to hear it with synths/drum machines

will this be available on the NDSP update on the plugin when the Abasi X releases?
I have the Harlow and it's a bit to aggressive. This thing sounds crisp.
how much do you guys bench?
Thiccsin
Will this be there at NAMM 2025 to try out?
Tosin Abasi wnt from skinny hipster to Mr. Olympia.
He didn’t want to get bullied on his taste in fashion so he got swole lol
Date someone who looks at you like Tosin looks at Ivan… 0:16
Anybody tried this on bass?
when are you going to drop new music instead of stuff I can't afford
bulk went too far, tosin
with mixes as bad as the work of Nick Morozov their last mixer, you would need 5 of these pedals
