You can minimize climbing all over the roof rack if you reverse the cover’s attachment, so that unzipping/zipping all takes place from the street-side of the vehicle, and not down the middle of the roof. (Note reviewer climbing up on vehicle to work the zipper…) Also, a 6 to 10” loop of parachute cord through the zipper pull helps the process, esp. on a tall vehicle.
Hello. That's great input, thanks for the suggestion!
What does that mean to revere the cover attachment? How do you do that because that sounds brilliant.
The support arches are meant to be deployed taller; each telescoping junction has 2 bullet-catch holes, you need to push them up more to take the sag out of the tent.
Yea, I have seen many who own this tent don't fully read the instructions that clearly state "CLICK! CLICK!" when extending the canopy poles. I have one & can attest it looks much nicer with the poles fully extended.
Hello. Thanks for the heads up, very good point!
Hi. Does the tente needs the ladder? Or without we can sleep on the part outside of the roof?
When folding the tent back up did you do anything special with the metal rain screen arms that attach to the tent? I have been having a heck of a time getting everything to fit when zipped back up.
Hello. There is a storage pouch to hold all of the metal rods in a compact space, here's that video clip: ua-cam.com/video/2uDKSKV3J-U/v-deo.html
Also, taking the time to tuck in the canopy as deep as possible around the perimeter will help with zipping on the cover. Thanks!
Can you hide the ladder after you're up there or does have to be deployed? Also, how is it in the summer? Does it get really hot inside when exposed to a lot of sun light?
Hello. The ladder is a required support for the tent platform. With windows open a light breeze will cool the tent while the awnings minimize direct sunlight into the tent. Thanks!
Do they make an annex for the foothills tent?
Hello. No annex for the Foothills, the closet solution would be the Thule OverCast Awning with the Thule/Tepui Mosquito Netting surround. Thanks!
would it be possible to leave your bedding in the tent?
Hello. Yes, though it will depend on the quantity and the amount of loft the bedding has to be compressed. Thanks!
You didn't say how wide are those cross bars the Tepui is resting on....
Hello Michael, the length of the bars will depend on the vehicle. You can head over to rackattack.com to check out our fit guide for your vehicle, or give us a call so we can find the best bars for both your car and tent!
That too much climbing for me
Hello. Yes, maybe better for some on a truck bed rack or lower vehicle. Thanks!
