What are the best strategies to protect my portfolio? I've heard that a downturn will devastate the financial market, so I'm concerned about my $200k stock portfolio.
There are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy situation, but such execution is usually carried out by an investment specialist/
I've been in touch with a financial analyst ever since I started investing. Knowing today's culture The challenge is knowing when to purchase or sell when investing in trending stocks, which is pretty simple. On my portfolio, which has grown over $900k in a little over a year, my adviser chooses entry and exit orders.
My CFA NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further... She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market..
I appreciate it. After searching her name online and reviewing her credentials, I'm quite impressed. I've contacted her as I could use all the help I can get. A call has been scheduled.
Really an eye opener, I am planning to stop further FD investments as the income generated is really low and on top of that 30% income tax deduction annually.
Nice video. But excluding HDFC BA from the list seemed little hurried. Ok risk adjusted return might be less but it’s the best performing and largest fund in its category. So the fund managers know what they are doing with the risk and delivering the returns. If risk adjusted returns was so much problem, it could have been justified by showing its performance in a correction vs others. That would have given a real picture.
I have a running SIP in ICICI Balance Advantage Fund & Edelweiss Balance Advantage Fund, Direct, Growth. ICICI Fund cover already 9 years & Edelweiss 4 years. I prefer to stay long in a Fund for giving decent return.
@@manorakhee Keep one word "Patience" in mind whether investing in Equity or Mutual Fund. I share a Fund return with you, in the year 1995 ! I invested Rs. 5000/- in DSP Balance Fund, Direct, Dividend Re-Investment which value now stands near about Rs.138000/-. So, give time for money compunding.
One observation which found its even though we have high volatility in the HDFC balanced advantage fund they should have considered as it it has largest AUM in the category for comparison and its giving very good returns in the category even in the long run
Hello, I understand that you would have liked to see HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund making it to the end but we had to drop this fund due to its higher volatility.
@@ETMONEY Thanks for your reply video was really helpful to choose the best fund based on the risk involved in it , my point was even though we have higher volatility in the funds we have good returns . At the end how much returns we are getting is matters and please do a video on the higher risk which funds are better and also suggest best AMC,s for a longtime to create wealth in MF
Really astound!! I wasn’t aware with these categories of fund. well structured Information guy’s and I must say your representation of information like chats and tables in this video is so neat and clear. Icici and edelweiss are in my bucket list.
Hello, you do have a point. But we used this criteria to shorten the list of funds and to distill out funds that seemingly have lower investor interest.
What is hdfc not in the analysis? Hypothetically, Consider that MF1 increases 100rs to 160 rs and in same time MF2 doubles the money to 200. During downturn, mf1 falls by 15% , while mf2 falls by 50%. Still then mf2 is much better than mf1 in terms actual "bank balance" (mf balance). Risk is overhyped in long run.
Are you sure that the equity percentage is from 30% to 80%? Because if equity percentage is 30% then it will become a debt fund and taxation will change from equity to debt!!
Hello, that's a good question. One possible reason is that as a principle, most balanced advantage funds aim at containing the downside rather than chasing returns. That's how they want to position these funds in investors' minds.
Hello, at the first stage, we excluded those funds that have worse risk-adjusted returns than the Nifty 50. HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund has a comparatively higher volatility, which is pulling down its risk-adjusted returns. So, it was excluded.
@@ETMONEY I know you don’t but fund does. I want to see as a customer when I buy funds and hold it for 10 years how much I have paid to funds as fund fees. It’s a significant amount.

I have question why gold is not part of this scheme,( i need a scheme which invests in all the intruments abobe but also invest in gold), also if people need protection then they can choose Equity saving schemes better alternative to fds , all mutual funds have quick liquidation risk..ie you cannot withdraw full amout at given dat..they would take lot of time to liquodate it..
Hello, good to see that you have a keen interest in the workings of mutual funds. If you want gold exposure within the same fund, you can check multi asset allocation funds. These funds invest in equity, debt, gold and even real estate through REITs. Equity savings funds have a comparatively lower return profile than balanced advantage funds. Balanced advantage funds can help you get Nifty 50-like returns but at a much lower volatility.
@@ETMONEY thanks there is a space for equity saving fund kind of portfolio which has exposure to gold ie, 35%equit, 30% arbitrage, 20% gold and 15 % debt. To keep sd, sortino, sharp rationl and alpha intact..
Quant DAAF started last year only. How he would have compared when you need at least 03 years for critical ratios to get determined ? I understand Quant MFs are difficult to ignore with their superlative returns
Don’t fool the investor in the long run active fund manger can’t beat large cap index also mid cap index so tracker fund all time favourite for the investors 😂
Hello, you are right that passive funds have given a tough time to active funds, yet there are many active funds that are doing better than their passive counterparts. If you are more comfortable with passive funds, you can choose them over the active ones.

Nifty 50 index funds have least charges, min 1% saved which should be considered while comparing
why the comparison is only with Nifty50, why not with Nifty100 ? Will the data be almost similar when compared to Nifty100 or any other benchmark?
In equity, nifty 50 is the safest of all.

Are you sure that the equity percentage is from 30% to 80%? Because if equity percentage is 30% then it will become a debt fund and taxation will change from equity to debt!!
He said they invest in arbitrage which makes up for the 65% allocation in equity to qualify for equity taxation.
Correct
Arbitrage plus equity allocation should be 65% atleast to qualify for equity fund.. So equity can be 30% if arbitrage is 35%
That is the mandate. However to keep it within the gamut of equity taxation, arbitrage is factored in.
Hello, these funds manage equity-like taxation by investing in arbitrage. Arbitrage has debt-like returns and risk but it's taxed like equity.
What is the catch in Pro-Cyclical model? Why most of the MFs are not using this mehod?
