I wish I could have grown up watching him. He’s from my stepdad’s home town and I share the same birthday as him. I wanted to wear 88 in middle school because he was such a remarkable person
I enjoyed this football life Alan Page looked like one awesome player what a legend. I’m a Bears and Dolphins fan I loved him remaking the Bears. His last game reminded of my high school team. We were 0-9 my freshman year started 0-7 the next year playing a much better team the next game I was a WR I scored every point in that game my team won our first game in almost 5 years. We also sent that team home for the winter I loved that we also built a State Championship my senior year
Wonderful man and human being. Cowboys fan here who long admired those 70's Vikings and they were always one of the teams that you had to deal with if you wanted to make it out of the NFC...great team, definitely should have a ring or two. Page, Eller, Marshall, Larson and Sutherland...whew!
As a kid was staunch LA Ram fan. I liked the helmet design mostly. Grew up in NWI a highly and racially divided locale to say the least. Rams always lost to Viking at playoff time. Me and friend solicited NFLers for purpose of getting autograph. My young buddy under 10 yoa got several GB Packers to send autographs. I don’t even know what possessed me to hand write Mr Alan Page/NFL MVP. I wrote Roman Gabriel with similar autigraph request and was grateful to get stamped signature of 18 on a black and white card. I was slightly but not much disappointed to discover the signature was stamped. That’s why I moistened my finger and intentionally smudged the 88 full color post card which was signed, sealed and delivered to Van Buren St in Merrillville, IN A racially divided community with loyalty to the Bears . Alan Page signed the card Peace, love and freedom Alan Page One of a kind human being that’s for sure. It wasn’t till many years later that I found out Mr Page rarely signs anything This dude needs to be in a political office doing something monumental
What I have heard/ read was that Page's weight loss had become a problem . In a game against the Seahawks he was taken out in a short yardage play and replaced by James White. When asked to return, Page flat out refused. The next day Grant waived him.26:49
I doubt it's anything from Sam Spence. Perhaps it's something from the catalog of Dave Robidoux. I can't really pinpoint it for sure. Maybe look up the music credits for Alan Page A Football Life. Best I can tell you.
What an absolutely wonderful man. Forget football. He’s a true intellectual
If there was ever a better role model. This is definitely a true life changer!
