Randy White was one of the most feared defensive tackles and you can see the hurt on his face and in his voice. Mark Tuinei and Nate Newton were to of the greatest UDFAs of all time. If Erik Williams was not seriously injured in an automobile accident he would have been a first ballot HOF. He still came back and dominated some of the best HOF defensive ends. RIP Mark Tuinei.

The crazy thing is I saw Mark Tuinei come to my middle school the year after he retired. He had his 3 Super Bowls rings sitting on the table and they were huge. Either way it was nice having a small chat with him. Then 2 weeks later he OD'd on heroin. I saw on TV and was in my mind, "Really f ing really, heroin, come on man".

Many so called " skilled" players think the same way - that offense lineman are not as talented or important as we backs and receivers.......... but when you watched the 90's Cowboys if you know football you actually stopped watching the ball and began just watching this line just take the will to fight away of every team they faced .....

What made that offensive line work was Emmitt Smith. 3 of players like Newton, Tuniei, and Gogan were part of the Landry Cowboys. It wasn't until Emmitt came along that things changed. Where a running back could go inside and get 6 to 10 yards and have the third guy tackle him. Emmitt and that offensive line were like a perfectly fitted glove. It just worked together with them.

Emmitt Smith was not a great back, respectfully. But his line was so dominant, his work was easy. And Buffalo had such a great defense. But Dallas was so good, they owned the Bills. Nate found his way back on the right path, Mark struggled to find it, as many pro athletes do after sports. It's 2023 & Dallas still hasn't gotten back to its glory days. Maybe the best O-line ever. Rest in paradise Mark Tuinei.

Emmitt was the best for different reasons. He carried the whole team on his shoulders. There were other great backs. Very few were championship backs like Emmitt. Yes some backs were faster and some stronger. But none were as complete as Emmitt. #22 was the whole package. He could juke you. Or run right through you. He had great hands. And was an excellent blocker. He did it all.

I'll say Zack Martin is plenty legit at his job. And What Williams did for just a short term. Tyron Smith has been doing his whole career. I love Tuinei, but Tyron is the best the Cowboys ever had at LT. It is a bit early to judge Biadazz. But the one he replaced. Travis Frederick could hold his own with any in team history. I do think it's a shame that Nate is not in the HOF. When it comes to that great line in the 1990's. Nate was the face and the spirit of that line. He his way over-due for Canton. And I could add another past Cowboys Guard to that. Tom Rafferty. Raff did great at both Guard and Center. So my all-time Cowboys OL is this. LT Tyron Smith, LG Nate Newton, C Tom Rafferty, RG Larry Allen, RT Eric Williams

As much as I hated Dallas from a competitive standpoint(was a 49ers fan), this unit's dominance was one of the unforgettable things of any era! That's probably why Green Bay never got em and why SF had to build through free agency to swing the pendulum their way plus free agency losses for Dallas in the 49er-Cowboys rivalry*!
*In the 94 playoffs, the 49ers went for every relevant 4th down. The 49ers got many TOs. Key losses for Dallas through free agency since their last playoff loss. The missed arm bar really tightens that game up!
Still, Dallas has 3 HOFers that owe their status to the great wall! And, the Pittsburgh SB win for Dallas was rigged beyond belief or that game was really up for grabs! CAN YOU SAY ASTERISK?!

@@jackduncan5442 It did change late and teams can come back. It happens. And, to be so talented, those Cowboys were not exactly blowing folks out anyway. Where it was 20-7, there was no guarantee they would stretch that lead out further. So, coming back was not inconceivable, esp. with the Cowboys.
Still, those INTs to a wide-open Brown were GLARING--more glaring than the arm-bar penalty non-call or the Rice fumble against Green Bay in 98(at least, Deion and Jerry sold theirs; they made theirs look legit so that the refs might miss them and there was no replay if they did miss the Rice fumble/Jerry popped right up afterward as he normally did after catches). Now, with those INTs, there was no reason to make those throws and Neil was likely bought...
