"John Lynch didn’t just play the position, he occupied a spot in your mind and you had to be aware at all times where he was on the field." - Barry Sanders
A safety like Lynch would be banned in today’s water down football. He was one of the last hard hitting safeties in the league. But most impressive is what a great human being he is. There’s a reason why the San Francisco 49ers are a top echelon team. His leadership and management is the reason.
Facts York ran the team into the ground by moving the stadium to fuck knows where, firing Harbaugh in favor of Jim Tomsoula, and many other dumbass things
I feel like John Lynch lived some badass 1980s movie life. Some kid almost gives up on his dream of playing football, but a coach sees his potential and doesnt let him fall between the cracks. Then he gets the girl he's had a crush on and marrys her. Then he goes pro in football and his idol Elway wishes him luck, goes on to have a HOF career. From a smalltown boy, you cant do it much better than that. This man was one of my favorite players as a kid, love revisiting his footage. Total no holds barred player, definitely had a hidden mean streak that only came out in football. Hope hes enjoying life.
Should have let John finish his career with the Bucs.damn shame.always a Buc.in my opinion.never set right And always bothered John alot you could tell Everytime he mentioned it.we still And will always love John Lynch in Tampa.
Walsh is the greatest saw Ronnie & Lynch potential as well as Rice, Dwight, Craig, Montana & Young. Great coaches but no GM close maybe Brown his former boss.
What humongous difference having John Lynch as the Niners GM, as opposed to Trent Baalke (combined with Jed Dork actually). Thanks for saving the team, John. And if Jed ever again tries to run things, let him know that you're the boss, please.
Hold on, he played minor league ball, AND then went back for another year of eligibility at Stanford? I thought they were strict about amateurism back then?
Lynch would be that ddinosaur that had a huge lump of bone on the top of its skull that it would use to ram enemies in mating contests or self defense. Scientists have calculated i t could hit about as hard as a Humvee at 30mph.
How does a person play pro baseball then be allowed back into college thats rules violation.?? Thats like steve Young going to law school and playing byu same time??
Nope... if you play a different pro sport, you can still play a college sport if you have eligibility remaining... back in the day, you couldn't go pro and then be on the Olympic team. I only know these rules because I googled
Trading 3! first-round picks ( 2021, 2022, and 2023) & their third-round pick in 2022 for Tray Lance was beyond moronic. Never mortgage your future for 1 player.
Now Gruden knew the plays because he was the Raiders head coach and he installed them OK and they were dumb enough not to change them. That’s not cheating that’s an advantage, but that’s not cheating. They didn’t record them and then break them down and practice against it ahead of time. I they practiced against it ahead of time, but at a John Gruden’s memory, no one videotape.
NFL may have curated the highlights to make it so, but he is squared up an face up on his hard hits. Refs would probably still flag him for the ferocity.
No lie, he was that type of player though. And that's what I loved about him. He didn't have to blind side you. Head up, hard to shake. Even Barry Sanders and Marshall faulk experienced some tough hits from lynch

That whole Bucs defense would be fined
This world would be a much better place if there were more men like John Lynch!! What a stud!!!
They are the kind of couple that grows more gorgeous as they age.
Lynch is so humble in giving credit to the coaches & players who helped him take his game to the next level. Loved to watch him play.
John Lynch was a hard hitting white boy!!

A fantastic episode of Football Life. John Lynch is truly, an extraordinary human being.
John Lynch built the 49ers defense from ground up by drafting Warner, Greenlaw, Bosa, Hufanga.
He saved the whole organization. I will NEVER give Jed Yorks sorry ass credit for anything thats been built since John Lynch been here

Can't forget about the work he did on offense too. Drafting Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk, and Purdy.

@@MrFlipCashas a raider fan I may disliked him on the field but he's a great guy nonetheless as a manager and family man
Derrick Brooks is one of my favorite people of all time. He was legendary at FSU, and even better at Tampa Bay. Bravo.
Brooks looks exactly the same with grey. Also i wish i could see how well that 02 bucs defense would do in todays game.
They would have to call it off after a series.
@@michaeltaylors2456 or they'd be the most penalized team in the league. no falling or driving QB's into the ground...no hitting receivers..etc. etc.

I’m glad that Lynch and Barber went to the hall of fame
I'm slightly biased, but I think that John Lynch is a great player, and an even better guy.
Awesome how John had a relationship with the 9ers all this time that I didn't know about. Now he's our GM and what a team they've built.
Bros a legend and hit so hard most tackles he went to the huddle with his eyes rolling to the back of his head ~

Interesting to hear your perspective. I learned of Kells when he was at UNH with now Coach Ryan Day. Enjoyed the conversation.
