Very good demo and very well recorded. It sounded as if I'm listening from the source instead of the speakers. On my Genelecs it sounded like I'm listening live with a very slight boosted low mids. Would love to try open baffle myself one day.
Thank you very much. I used this mic placement to remove some of the room sound and have the speaker be a bit more direct. I used Ekio, VB Banana and Amazon HD Music for this demo. Having an active crossover is great fun to try things out as each speaker brand will have different responses, Cheers.
@ronkramer5459 will do. It's monofilament fed through the basket and tightened around the pole. You can see it on my printables page. www.printables.com/model/860085-pole-katz-naked-open-baffle-speaker-system
Not yet. If there is interest, I might make the 3d parts available. The rest is easy to purchase. You can reach me through my website in my profile. Thank you for checking.
Celestion Seventy80 for lows and a 1990s Radio Shack 4" car speaker for highs. EKIO for crossover through a MOTU M4 interface to a Fosi V3 for highs and an old Denon AV receiver for lows.
@@pomponthebunny it's very room specific as the dipoles put a lot of sound out the back. So a 6db bump up at 50hz, a 3 bump up at 60hz, massive narrow cut at 100hz and some clean up near the 1khz crossover. The high end only has a bit of trimming around 2.4 and .5db down at 4khz. The room nodes are the biggest issue currently that had to be dealt with and EKIO is a great EQ/crosssover solution for an active system.

Please do a video showing how you attach the drivers to the pole.
