Long and boring Pin Support Challenge on a Delta with Smoothieboard.
Very cool. Great job. What about static electricity using those materials, specifically the plastic on the plater (assuming abs, pla)? What are your thoughts?
Many thanks! No major problems with static. All the arms, except for the first wood arm, drain via signal ground to preamp. The carbon tubes are conductive and with a small wire trapped by a grub screw, much of the nastiness gets flushed. On the fully printed arms, a small aluminum tube resides within the arm. Great question btw. Cheers.
Should be back to back comparisons. Hard to hear the difference when the first song doesn’t come around again until ten minutes later.
@AngryManSki try it with chapters, can at least hope version to version or even better, download the raw files and use even the most basic daw to do immediate a/b comparisons. The files are at 24/192 so you get the added bonus of no compression. Reckon one of those should work.
sounds already good without the sparkos, with the sparkos is really amazing.A great update. The background is darker and more quit, and more layers are added!!!
@@gertjanvanderkooij9242 many thanks! I agree, I truly found the result to be smoother and very solid in the low frequencies.
I added a f-mod hipass70 an 5532op amp chip to restore 3db loss from fmod the 3255 monoblocks remind me of tube amps oh my
Currently my setup is fully active. The Sparkos Op Amps were the final smoothing touch.
That is awesome. Thanks for sharing Andy.
Thanks Rick! Always enjoy sharing audio ideas. Should have more projects in the new year.😁
Congrats on the free Sparkos. That little bit of there there was needed also on my 8 channels.... out of my own pocket. My audio mantra; A B test everything!
Sounds really nice, I'm curious as to what's on the shelving to the right?
Many thanks! The shelves contain my collection of vintage radio control transmitters. A few classics in there.😁
Bullshit... absolutely. ;)
You know it.
Mm, I too should do a wrap up I suppose - you do so well talking head format!
Danke, danke!!! Have head, will talk hahahahahaha!!!😂
hello Andy nice sax sound, i got you from audioscience reviews....and just open your mention about kickdown from those forums, sorry to hear thats but your video and recording is good and large bandwith in my earphones. in the forum i try to searching audio interface from Topping E2X2 to E4x4 and Motu M2 or M4, i see issued about Motu in Windows 10 in 2022-2023, i dont know if they just changes /updates the drivers for M series so perfect runing in Win 10. thanks for music and video....
Greetings and thanks. I have been using the Motu M4 on Windows 10 and also now 11 with no issues. All my recent speaker test videos are with the M4. On the other hand, the drivers for my UAD Arrow are so bad that I gave up and now using it on my Hackintosh. Tech support from UAD for PC is atrocious. Should have another vid out soon. Got sidetracked with some music projects. 😊
I picture coubts in castles❤
Awesome! Bravo!
@@RickBonanno many thanks, much appreciated!😁
Well to be fair the forum is called audio SCIENCE review. So I guess they would be into geeky things like testing and data. There are far more subjective listening ie audiophile forums that cater to the other side.
The humorous part is I really enjoy extremely detailed, scientific reviews. I do not enjoy rude, pompous pseudo scientists that actually don't know sh#t from dates, blurting out rude comments right out of the gate.
Yeah that’s the anonymity of the internet.
Incredible sounds and performances !
@YannisFyssas many thanks, my musical friend!!!
WOW! Wonderful vocals and sax! Fantastic song!
@colquhounfamilyvideos6411 thanks Bev, super appreciated!!!
Beautiful interpretation of this song
Mille Grazie Bella!!!❤
You are a prolific man of majik m'fren! Nicely done!
Many thanks, my moto buddy!!!❤
Good info as always! ~ loooove those speaker stands too!!!
SOUNDS GOOD
Many thanks, much appreciated!😊
Ima li negdje za kupiti ?
Not yet. If there is interest, I might make the 3d parts available. The rest is easy to purchase. You can reach me through my website in my profile. Thank you for checking.
I need new fans, but have no clue what to get or how to tell what size.
@abxaudiophiles 120 is common for case fans. Best to measure. These fans are part of my silent server update. The watercooler aio was decent, but this system is pretty much silent when setup properly in the bios. Will be doing a vid on the update in the next few days. These are the bits. amzn.to/4fFJwYf amzn.to/4fufnuY And you might need this if you don't have an rgb header on the motherboard amzn.to/4hDDl8C
Well done sir. ❤ Just hang out with us and it’s a free space to roll it all around without judgment. ❤
@abxaudiophiles indeed my friend, indeed. Your Discord channel is very entertaining and thanks for the invite!😁
Your attitude towards audiosciencereview is a bit like offering your body to science, so for them to cut you to pieces was largely to be expected, wasn't it? 😉Otherwise, yes, I completely agree with your philosophy on sharing experience. In this hobby, you have to remain pragmatic and trust your ears more than the measuring devices, my microphone certainly hears better than I do, only it doesn't understand what it hears, it can't distinguish between quantity and quality, taking the listener out of the equation means forgetting who should benefit from the end result.
@Pierre-Leloup very well said. I naively thought I might find kindred spirits. Instead, I found vengeful sprites, hahahaha.
the last time I checked, which was a while ago now, the best system Amirm had heard was tube powered horns at an audio show, while he himself runs 1,000 watts of silicon into boxes...... should we feel for people who first listen to a system with test equipment in order to know if their ears are going to like it....... ;-)
@junkyoutube9060 ultimately something has to sound good. I do appreciate the thorough measurements. I have specced MOTU interfaces for years on shows I have designed, but his measurements of the MOTU M4 were actually helpful. Just found the vibe on the discussion groups stunningly pretentious.
what speakers are those ? I to noticed a improvement using the Sparkos Op Amps, i use 2 aiyima a07's set up as mono blocks they sound fantastic with the hivi swan m 1's. Good video u can clearly hear the sound being unveiled , it opened right up with more detail an soundstage , was it a dramatic difference in person ?
@hiviman thanks, appreciated. The speakers are something I put together, an active zero baffle design. The difference live actually was very similar to the recording and very pleasant indeed! Super happy with the Sparkos op amps. I have also a link in the description for the 24/192 files if you want to check them out.
Andy would you recommend fozi audio amp for studio monitors for mixing, i got some tannoys 6.5 passive but really dont want to hook up the bulky amp .
Absolutely. Have used Tannoys in the past and I really like them. Probably a V3 stereo withe 48v 5a supply would be grand and less space. A couple monos would be killer but not totally necessary.
How about the za3 like the xlr feature
@robertmilo7445 great choice if you are running balanced.
Hiw many fosi v3 monos are you usung here?
One V3 stereo for the highs and two monos for the lows. 48v 5a power supply for the highs and two 48v 10a power supplies for the lows
@@jazzboy I bet that system got some nice Kick in the Bass. What speaker are you useing Jazzboy
@jazzboy This is a must if you like more revealing depth and focus, try switching the power supply from a 5amp to a 10am. In your case get the 10amp onto the highs, the v3 should behave and the monos won't car either. Worth a shot.
@@sqcaraudio will be trying some combos for sure.
@@Oiljeep Celestion 12" Seventy80 guitar speaker and a Kicker DSC40 4" car speaker.
Which one did you choose?
Sparkos for me.
@@jazzboy what model sparkos?
@@chrisharford2610 SS3602
@@jazzboy thank you
What material is the turntable made of? Aluminum or Epoxy?
@huonggiangtran9007 the blue plinth is hollow pla with an epoxy fill as is the platter. The grey one is pla platter and a concrete plinth. Thanks for the inquiry.
I run 10 fosi v3 mono in a 5 way active. The 10amp 48v power bricks sound better than the 5amp. More revealing image, sweeter sound all round. I just bought then and ordered the sparkos for some.. never thought of just asking for them.😊
@sqcaraudio very kööl application! The 48v 10a power supplies really push larger drivers very well. Running active is my preference as well, more flexibility and fewer components in the signal path.
I built a small digital system around the V3 mono's I added a small black heatsink to the top of each unit, this drop the Chassie Temp about 6 degrees measured at my Avg listening levels. This replaced My HT Sony DA2400ES AV receiver Which was way Hotter than the v3 mono's. Any ways this Sounds So nice to seat back Just listen to Classic rock, I love them.
In the proper application these wee beasts are truly game changers! Considering the whole case is a heat sink, they are not really running that hot, we can just feel the heat as opposed to it be being contained in a larger case.
@@jazzboy Thats correct My Older Sony was hot enough to the touch after a good rock out session of 1 hour you didn't want to hold your hand on it. still running good after 29 years Old. Fosi mono only hit 109 on the hardest pull for 4 hours. I had Cpu alot hotter for alot longer . I eat sandwich's hotter than 109 LOL.
Well done sir. 😊 Love the sharing of your background in the industry. ❤
Thanks for your continued support, it is much appreciated.🙂 Trying to put a bit things in context as folks need to know where my opinions are coming from.
I'm a fan l..the man knows what he's talking about and delivers
Mille Grazie!😊
Nice one
@@TheEnzedone thanks, that one is still being refined.
Wow this is great stuff I liked grabbing the scroll bar and zipping back and forth between all three tracks at roughly the same point. For me: 1. CD 2. Vinyl 3. Streaming Vinyl sounds a little hmmmmmm, muffled? Muddy? But still better than streaming, too much (well just too much of everything) for me. Might change the more I listen but that’s my initial thoughts. Second thoughts: CD head and shoulders above the rest: Vinyl down by 15% Streaming down by 25%
Thank you for the input. The CD is indeed quite different than the other two tracks. The uncompressed 24/192 files are in the link if you wish to check them out. I was surprised at the differences as well being played on the same system.
Well dvone Andy, thanks! For me CD sounds better, followed by vinyl, maybe a bit more compressed. I didn't like the streamed version, not so dynamic and too polished, artificially soft?
That's the cool thing about the selection of music we have today, we can actually hone in on the version that suits our taste best. Thanks.😊
Nice! Ever listen to the console? I have a Philips based console with a 6BM8 based receiver, tt and external aux input.
@stewnelless2416 ran a cd through it, only one channel but good.
Thanks for doing this comparison. It might be good to bookmark the start of each version of the song for quick samples.
Also, nice armada :) Room sounds great
Thanks. There are chapters in the description for the music.
Loving your titles AH!...(😅)
@bcbocraft trying to become a master clickbaiter...
Man, they just all sound so darn good. ❤😂🎉. I can’t pick a favorite. I’ll have to down load files and dive in deeper. 😊
Your support is very much appreciated. The CD raw file will be uploaded a bit later today.
Hi I am looking forward for a comprehensive build guide for the Carbo X and of course The Lil' Pucker Turntable !!! I would like to know what was the reason to choose dual beam solution instead of single beam as described at the Diyaudio Nanooks Thread ? With a single beam probably you will need to add only a 3d printed headshell probably a counterweight and a pivot point .
Thanks for the comment. Yes, a build vid will come soon. The dual beams were to mimic the first design I built out of wood and aluminum and also to have separate runs runs from the cart. Interestingly, I am planning to design a single beam as well. Just too much on the plate at the moment.😁Cheers.
Please do a video showing how you attach the drivers to the pole.
@ronkramer5459 will do. It's monofilament fed through the basket and tightened around the pole. You can see it on my printables page. www.printables.com/model/860085-pole-katz-naked-open-baffle-speaker-system
More of everything 33% in live sax.
The doubling of the room sound definitely changes things up.
All I know, is both sound GREAT! 😅
Super appreciated!!! The doubled room sound and normalization do change the playback, but hopefully, the live feel remains. BTW the Fosi Monoblocks should be arriving later today!!! Stoked.
Awesome stuff. 😊😊 Musician and Audiophile. ❤
interesting. I noted the breath was gone just before and during some notes in the playback. Perhaps a lack of the same dynamic range that was there in the original playing.
@NakeanWickliff good ears. Also proximity to the mics. Live was closer.
I like that you are taking us listeners in an unusual direction 🙂
Thanks, always enjoy exploring new projects.
Subscribed. I'm into DIY build ups using simple things thats in your disposal then create good stuff out of it without over spending. Music really does connect bridges. Nice rec room btw, simple, neat and functional 🎶
@MotoKalikot thanks, I enjoy using simple components as well. So much of audio gear is setup dependant. I have seen so much ultra expensive equipment sound awful over the years and cheap gear sound amazing that I realized that the old expression, don't blame the tools often applies.
Sounds fantastic Andy!! 🎉❤😊 Just shared your channel with our discord.
Many thanks! Really appreciate the support!!!
