I love my integra7. But I have a big problem. I control it with a studiologic SL73. I can't access all the library using program change and msb-lsb. So on stage. I use mainly 16 sounds of a studio set.. 😅
Tu as l'air de bien connaitre "l'univers" Roland.
I don't know what's more impressive, the sounds the Integra-7 makes or the fact that he knows all of these melodies. 😳 I ordered my Integra-7 last week and it should get here by this Thursday. Hoping it will compliment my Fantom-8, since Roland hasn't added all of the SuperNatural tones to the Fantom series yet.
@@tuneunleashed The Integra is still a self contained unit with 12 SRX boards, a VA synth, the full XV5080 engine, and the supernatural sounds. I don't think that classifies as a waste of money.
@@dynoroad Adam: ignore his reply: the Integra is an AMAZING piece of sound equipment!! And the Fantom doesn't come with any of that built in: you have to go through a very tedious process to add it to the keyboard, something they should have had on there in the first place.....even after the years since this sound board has come out, it's SN sounds are still amongst the best in the industry. You will NOT regret having it.....
@@DrGargani Unfortunately the piano sounds , EP and tone wheel are nowhere near the Nord and for this reason I sold mine. Reverb is also poor so you need to pair it with strymoon big sky or similar. Hey my amigo. I have NOVATION SLmk3-61-key and I'm thinking to get Integra 7 or komplete 13 collector. But I also need lop top which is another $ 2,500 . If I get the Integra is about $1,700 . Thanks for help
I have a used Integra 7 on the way, I can't wait. I will use my hydrasynth to control it but plan on eventually pairing the Integra with a Kawai VPC-1. Great playing.
I had 2 Integras, there is an endless amount of sounds. I wouldn't use basic sound in the studio, but the special FX and some of the ethnic sounds are still quite useful. Plus you can import your Roland sample library.
The Integra 7 is absolutly great, with its supernatural sounds and the twelve SRX boards included!!! I've got the old Roland JV 880 Sound Module and the Fantom XR Sound Module. The Integra 7 I have connected via MIDI to my oldest Roland Synthesizer, the JX1 Synthesizer, and it makes a giant Instrument out of it!!! The other two Modules I have connected via MIDI to my Alesis 8 HD Workstation. Now I don't need any other Synthesizers since my setup is complete!!!!
@@arnaudchabo I demo'd the Montage 8 and the Fantom 8 before my purchase and I found the Roland Fantom V-Piano was just superior sounding to the Yamaha Piano.
@@StefaanHimpe I agree, the tone of the srx02 is not bad, but I don't like the dynamic. I can't play nuances. Maybe I missed a paramater that need to be tweaked ?
The violin and cello sound so convincing, if I heard those on a recording I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. In fact many of the Supernatural instruments are really good samples but I also like Roland's PCM sounds as I currently have 8 sound modules including a Roland JV-1080, Roland U-220 and Roland SC-88 Pro and even those still sound usable in modern productions. I'm thinking about also buying an Integra 7 and an SC-8850 as an alternative to the Roland Cloud VST instruments.
Right, violin and cello are good. I have to say that I added a lot of tc.electronics m350 reverb on these sounds. It sounded much better than the internal reverb. I love the hardware units. I'd like Roland, Korg and Yamaha to sell new ones with actual piano sounds. Integra7 or motif rack are very old.

Can you use the Integra sounds together with an audio interface to record some tracks with the Integra sounds and others with PC VSTS at the same time? E.g. Komplete VSTS. How can one route this to work? I'd also llike to use my USB interface to record micro signal. Any ideas? By the way amazing playing and Integra sounds. I'd like the Integra to "play" the midi in my PC as well
@@thephoenixchant Yes and this applies with any instrument/synth that you use as long as you have that instrument connected in bye usb midi So basically you run the outputs of the synth to the input of interface to hear the audio and record and connect the usb midi cable from the synth to your computer so that the integra can receive the midi information thats the beautiful part of having midi so basically the synth becomes a plugin which daw are you using
There are people claiming that a JV-1080/JD-990/XV-5080 sounds better than an Integra 7, and I don't understand them. This synth sounds absolutely wonderful, and if you're into lo-fi, it's child's play to have the Integra sound like that; if needs be, using an external unit. The other way around, however, is not going to work: no way you'll get one of those older units sound like the Integra.
This is my first Roland unit so I can't compare. This Integra is so great that I consider now buying a Roland stage keyboard such as the RD800 or RD2000 to try.
Those are people who can't afford integra.. All the systems are good, but an integra is much more interesting and cheaper than all those old equipment with 20 jv cards :-) it is 2021, not 1980.
@@antoniocalimero1173 I understand budget. It's no longer so much a concern for me, but it was not even that long ago. But my comment was really aimed at people who claim that the old units sound better.
@@SeverityOne Not all sounds sound exactly the same. If it's not original, then it sounds worse is the conclusion. Does not make any sense. You can tweak more on the Integra, so you can create a new unique sound. Nobody is talking about 4x more sounds that the Integra has. The integra is still too young. There are very few videos at the moment. In 10 years, everyone on youtube will say that the integra is the best ever made :-)
I think it's because of their experience with old hardware. The XV-5080 may be the established "normal" their brains compare everything against. I have a 5050 with two SRX boards and I can't hear a damn difference between most patches. All these machines sound fantastic and you can tweak them all. The Integra has many USR slots and a nice iPad patch editor. I love my Integra 7.
What’s interesting is convincing piano, string and VA synth sounds have been done for nearly 40 years. If a unit can’t do those well, its not worth it. Where many virtual instrument sounds fall flat IMO is in the electric piano sounds and brass sounds. I don’t know why, but it seems like roland really skimped on the e pianos and brass. Most of the sounds on this unit are fantastic, but i could not get behind the fake sounding horns and the glassy rhodes sound. Surprising that they want so much for this. That being said, your playing was great!
@@arnaudchabo both pretty awesome 👍🏻 Probably we won't be seeing a new generation of rack units from Yamaha or Roland. The Motif XS rack was pretty good as I remember it. would you reckon the Integra is better?
Indeed. The integra sound always the same. No matter what midi keyboard you use. But, you have to think that the dynamic range of the midi keyboard could change the "clarity" of the sound. If it's a piano keybed, it will be more difficult to get the strongest part of the sound.. the part that is often louder a d clearer. And id you use an inexpensive e463, the sound could be much more clearer, and it could be more difficult to play the "light" part of the sound.. the first layer.. that is often softer and darker. So indeed, with a PSR, the integra will play the same quality of sound. But maybe you won't "ask" it the same "layer".. So it could be dissapointing.
@@victorpeters589 I just wanted to try, hoping that the t.c. should be much better. I think it's a little better, but now I use the multi effect of the Integra. Using the t.c. was very convinient to control and tweak the reverb on the fly. For exemple, the Cello is much "playable" with a lot of long reverb. But, indeed, integra's multi effect is enough.
Yes you can. You can choose 16 sounds on the front panel of the integra7, and set them wherever you want on the keyboard. I don't do it like this. I use a studiologic SL73 which can manage the "split" and "layers" But you can also do it on the integra7 (sorry for my poor english skills ;-) )
@@arnaudchabo Thank you for the answer. , I will budget to buy it if it can do this. I am a one man band and so having a way to split bass and other sounds (acoustic/lead guitars, strings) from the integra-7 is very important to me. And your English is good!
@@KingstonMusician I sold my integra7, just because I thought the pianos weren't good enough. So, indeed, I think pianos of the CP73 are much better. I sold my C73 because the keybed was not reliable.. Now I play a Korg Kronos 2 73. Keybed very very reliable. Piano sound are good.. but.. it's much too heavy !!! I don't know which keboard I could buy.. Good pianos with reliable keybed, compact and lightweighted.. maybe I'll try a Nord stage, but it's very expensive.. :-( ;-)
@ we have similar dilemmas. For what I do I really want an exceptional piano. Bought the Korg Oasys 88 with it first came out (still have it) pianos suck Then I got a Kurzweil PC3X , still have it and much better than the Korg. Then got a Korg Grandstage 73 (still have it ) pianos still suck but the electrics are top notch. Last year I got a CP-88 and absolutely love it , the sounds , the actions etc, it just works for me. Not sure if the keybed is the same on the 73? I I love the 88, will be hard pressed to find something better for my needs. I especially love the intuitive layout , your don’t need a phd in frustration to learn how to use it
@KingstonMusician CP73 and CP88 are totally different. I also have a CP4 stage with the same CP88 wooden keyed. I love it too. CP73 is more compact, but keybed is too bad. CP73 with the CP88 wooden keybed would be perfect for me. .. Korg will release soon a Korg Kronos 3. I will see if it's good (and lighter)
wow..sounds are amazing. I'm a complete novice... what exactly is this piece of equipment Integra 7? is it just a huge bank of sounds from roland? I recently ordered a Fantom-06 ... currently using Roland Juno DS-61 and Jupiter Xm .... am I able to simply plug this device in and then have access to these sounds??
Hum.. ? It's an expander. A sound module. (I'm french, I don't speak english very well) Yep, You plug it midi, and then you can play all the sounds inside integra7. That's right
If you want a better piano sound, I think Dexibell vivo sx7, sx8 would be great! From a really realistic piano tone website It's more fun than the basic sound Platinum sound, piano, ep PLT will fill the vacancy in the lack of Attic sound
It's a Gator rack. I can't remember the model (3u) The device above is a reverb TC electronics M350. It was just to experiment. The reverb inside the Integra is enough.
I own a FA06, but I feel SuperNatural piano is not as good as integra 7, or am I wrong? In FA06, the piano sampings around D6 (not quite remember those exact keys) has subtle sampling noises; this also means the SN piano in FA06 is not sampled for every individual key.
Maybe, the components of FA06 are cheaper. Anyway, I'm not a fan of Integra7 pianos. I guess those on the latest fantom should be better. But I didn't tried it.
How were the tonewheel organs on the CP73? Especially with chorus/vibrato and rotary? I've never liked Yamaha's organ options. They're so dorky-sounding. It's weird because they started out as a reed organ manufacturer in the 19th Century. Maybe they have too much pride to devote themselves to emulating another company's sound.
@@arnaudchabo I now know I'm 3 years behind the ball tech-wise. What I said would have been perfectly legit in 2020 after the new CPs came out---but have you looked into their YC series from 2021? I totally missed that release. FINALLY Yamaha has checked the clonewheel box.
@@stephenbertino8373 I returned my Yamaha CP73. The keybed is not reliable. I didn't tried the CP88. Now, I play an old CP4 stage. The keybed is the best I ever had.
@@arnaudchabo I've never played one but I hear the CP88 has a much better action. The early escapement emulation is very enticing. The CP33 is meh but it's been a pretty good controller for my Fantom XR. and it's still working 100% after 3 years of weekly gigging. I did have to glue an endcap back on a couple times because I use a soft case and I'm occasionally clumsy. I'm looking for something that transmits on more than 2 channels though.
The Integra contains all 8 SRX extensions the SRX-07 Ultimate Keys contains SR-JV80-04 "Vintage Synth" However, note that these are the samples, not the patches! The patches were re-designed for SRX boards, and they are not the same patches as on the original SR-JV80 boards. Back in the days Roland sold the SRX cards with the old SR-JV80 patch data on CD ROM, XV-line users could upload SR-JV80 patches to their machine that would use the SRX boards' sample data. This does not work in the Integra 7
Hi, you can make your own studio sets. 16 sounds available in each. You could have each on different midi channels then select midi channel on keyboard to choose sound or integra on main screen bottom left corner to select each part. Or select same midi channel in the studio set and layer the sounds. Hope that helps
Yes, you are right. It was just to test. I don't use the tc electronics anymore. Still, Using the tc was very convenient to tweak the effect on the fly.
I also use external effects with the Integra. The onboard effects of the Integra are ok, but fidelity wise and in terms of a high quality reverb a decent external unit or plugin will bring the sounds to life. The Integra effects are so so, ok for sketching out a framework or skeleton of a song, but the onboard reverb lacks depth and finesse.
How are the electric guitar sounds, are they close to the real thing? And VA synth sounds are they enough "warm" or still "cold" sounding? I want to add this to my cold dark Korg Kronos worstation to add a little spice :))
It's difficult to answer to this. I sold my integra to buy a Kronos 2 73. I play real guitar, so I don't play them on keyboards 🤔 but, yes, I remember guitar were much much better on integra. You'll find good acoustic tones, good jazz guitar, and nice distorded ones. I think guitar on kronos are bad. The synths ? I couldn't say if they are warmer on the integra. But you'll find a lot of them. E-bass on the integra are the best I've heard on a keyboard. I didn't like the piano, that's why I sold Integra.
@@arnaudchabo Yes, that's why I asked. You have to be a magician to pull out nice electric guitar tone out of Kronos, but you can't have it all. The supernatural engine ones are pretty good. the SRX ones arent too great but useable for certain cases. Supernatural engine is more than just a rompler engine, it also uses some form of granular synthesis to enhance the samples.
What are your thoughts on the CP73 keybed ? I'm interested in one, but have heard some say the keybed is unreliable. How does it feel ? Nice playing. And the Integra 7 sounds very good.
I would be glad to explain the delay, but I don't use any delay. Maybe you're talking about the tone "computer room" It's the factory preset, I didn't tweaked anything. We should ask Roland's staff ;-)
@@markferreri5814 I don't think so.. but anyway. There is something very strange that I don't understand. My uncle told me he had latency one day, and no latency the day after !! I don't understand that and I have no idea how to fix it.
You have some access to "rompler" type sounds on there , but integra has a really massive library of them (all the hits from jv and xv series plus all SRX expansion cards) along with the supernatural sounds (which is just a more advanced rompler).
I think that the Integra 7 can be used as an audio interface for home studio, have you ever checked it? And in case of that, what sample rates can you use? Thanks and nice performing man!
Sorry but he's unable to do it. It's not an audio interface. You can just transfert audio from your PC to your Integra 7. As i know, you can't play sound of a VSTI thru this machine. Simple to do, but Roland don't want...
@@jeave6286 that’s what audio interfaces do…transfer audio….transferring midi is a 2ndary feature that some have. The integra 7 can function as an audio interface and have your daw sounding thru its output to monitors.
Tu as l'air de bien connaitre "l'univers" Roland.
YES,YES and YES >

@@dynoroad Adam: ignore his reply: the Integra is an AMAZING piece of sound equipment!! And the Fantom doesn't come with any of that built in: you have to go through a very tedious process to add it to the keyboard, something they should have had on there in the first place.....even after the years since this sound board has come out, it's SN sounds are still amongst the best in the industry.

@@followyourpassion8378 Integra has incredible stuff (synth, e-bass.. etc) but the pianos are not good enough. That's the main reason I sold it.
So, if I have an inexpensive Yamaha PSR e463, will my keyboard sound just as good with this Roland hooked up?

But, indeed, integra's multi effect is enough.
Great harmonica at 5:30. I'd use that.
Can I set left right and split sounds from Integra 7? Say bass guitar left and another sound on right of keyboard?
Yes you can. You can choose 16 sounds on the front panel of the integra7, and set them wherever you want on the keyboard. I don't do it like this. I use a studiologic SL73 which can manage the "split" and "layers" But you can also do it on the integra7 (sorry for my poor english skills ;-) )

You can listen here (link) one of my song, there's a guitar right from the start, the recording and mix is bad, I just got the Kronos then, so I think guitars here a good, but that was a beginners luck ... :)) ua-cam.com/video/OjSXkVu__GE/v-deo.html
Don't buy a CP73 ! That's my thoughts ;-)
@@arnaudchabo Thanks for responding. I will take your advice
@@arnaudchabo what about the cp88?
@@charleslaspinas6469 great sounds, great interface, great keybed. I just tried it in a music shop but I think it should be good.
@@arnaudchabo Is it because the keybed doesn't feel great? Nice play by the way.
The Little Harmonica on The Prairie :)
Yeah ! This sound is so funny. I love it.
What case to you have the Roland in, and what is the module you have on top of the roland?
Rack Gator
And TC.electronics M350 to have knobs to control the reverb. It was just to exeperiment, now I don't use the M350 anymore.
SuprB 💗💢👌
Bro what is the exact size of your integra rack case?
Rack gator 3 units. Exact size ? No idea. Sorry

Take on me - Aha ;-)

How about delay? Can you explain it please? 🙏
I would be glad to explain the delay, but I don't use any delay. Maybe you're talking about the tone "computer room" It's the factory preset, I didn't tweaked anything. We should ask Roland's staff ;-)
I think he was referring to the latency between the video and audio . . .
@@markferreri5814 I don't think so.. but anyway. There is something very strange that I don't understand. On my phone, and on my computer, the audio is perfectly synchronised with the video, but yes, some of my friends told me that they could see latency.. I don't know what happen ? My uncle told me he had latency one day, and no latency the day after !! I don't understand that and I have no idea how to fix it.
Gruss Erwin
Nothing important. It's a TC
electronics M350 reverb. You can do the same with reverb inside the integra.
nice demo sounds great, thanks for preparing. Does anyone know how roland cloud sounds in comparison to an integra7?
The main difference is the "Integra" has "Supernatural Sounds", Roland Cloud does not have that.
You have some access to "rompler" type sounds on there , but integra has a really massive library of them (all the hits from jv and xv series plus all SRX expansion cards) along with the supernatural sounds (which is just a more advanced rompler).
hi - can you please remind me - what is the name of that piece at 14:30?
Hi ! Bach prelude in C major.
@@arnaudchabo perfect, thank you! and very nice playing, by the way!!
You save the best for last!?!!???? I'm in to orchestral music.
May i know what device that you put on your integra 7 was that?
Reverb TC electronics M350.
I was just a test. I don't use it anymore.
Whats the first piano song?
"Una mattina" Ludovico Einaudi ;-)

Haha The Korgi's nice !
this ALL sounds like a Leisure Suit Larry soundtrack
I have a couple of tone generators for 90s nostalgia sounds but I have one of these coming in and it might replace them all haha
Yea, that kind of 'pretending' sound.
Zdecydowanie szkoda kasy na integre, te same barwy jv 1080, 2080, fantom.😅
Splendid!
Excellent!
Not bad. Not bad..
Roland??????
I think that the Integra 7 can be used as an audio interface for home studio, have you ever checked it? And in case of that, what sample rates can you use?
Thanks and nice performing man!
I didn't knew that integra7 could be used as an interface. That's very interesting. I'll try it as soon as possible.

Ferris bueller could have done amazing things with this
4:25 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My favourite song ;-)
The Integra is too complicated for the seniors who can't program an instrument anymore. For people with a fresh mind, the Integra is as good as Fantom.
Lol saxsynth…. Always makes me laugh. Sounds are good tho
I agree. I play with many sax players. So I never use this sound live.
