I would do what Spanish did in the medieval era and replace all i’s with y
And then replace y with j like Balkan languages, so that that j at the beginning of the word is as it is, but anytime else is the y sound
Edit: Then make g into the English j sound as in Maltese, with double g (gg) then becoming the English g sound

in my system of deleting letters--a strict halfabet ignoring q, reducing english to just the letters o, k, h, y, and b--"the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" becomes "kyhhoy kkokobkhkk bbyoooybbo hkooko ykokbhkbhy oohboyyo kyhhoy hoohyhyy byoobkkb"
