Whether you like him or not. You can’t deny Barry is a hitting guru. He learned baseball at a young age from his father ,who was a pretty fair player himself, and his godfather was one of the 5 greatest players ever... The great great Willie Mays. When you’re watching Bonds play it’s pretty much the closest thing to Willie Mays you’ll ever see.

Bonds could hit 250 with 25 hr today at 55 years old....Also he would get 70 walks and under a 100 strikeouts....Only had had a 100 strikeouts once (102) when he was 22 . His first season in MLB. Now a days players don't care about striking out . Back in the days a strikeout was like the worst thing you could do !

you belong in the hall of fame, you're one of the best I've ever seen.you been the best before all of this rumors. The sad part about all of this is that you were so good that you did no need to do anything else, for what? you and Roger Clemens were hall of fame way before all of this.... Sadly, so many probably will go to the hall of fame that are not even close as good as both of you were.I'M very happy to see you back,so keep doing right things and God will bless you and your family---Remember that only God can judge you.

Never knew Barry Bonds choked up! He was more of a monster than I thought! You choke up for bat control, but you lose some power. Barry was scary - if he lost leverage, then he supplied the strength. What a gifted individual!
And he was charming in this interview....

First time I heard his name I was about 12 years old and some kid said, "Heh Barry Bonds is down at Burton Park (where they had a few ballfields). My house was like three blocks from that park and I did not go. Sigh. Barry - you the best - hope the Hall comes a calling for you.

Good video. Choking up makes some sense, and potentially could use longer closer to maximum barrel bat from the tradeoff in weight. Today's pitchers all throw hard and spin. I was only comfortable at the end of the bat, and sometimes even down in my pinkie finger. It wasn't easy to find long bats. I think everyone has had thousands of hours of whiffle bat and weighted bat swings emulating their heroes. Bonds was the best.

When Barry Bonds played for the Pirates during the early 1990's, he obviously had MVP stats during the regular season, but, when it came time to demonstrate that talent in the playoffs he would go AWOL! The truest measure of greatness for any professional athlete in his chosen sport is "how did he perform when the stakes were at their highest"! Unfortunately, Barry Bonds would 'shrivel up and die' during the Post Season when his team needed him the most! For that very reason, he'll forever be labeled a "CHOKER" in the eyes of many Pirate fans!

He could do anything w a baseball...he just ruined it all with a hormonal needle. Walking him was a MUST in essentially all situations. The other bash bro’s weren’t gonna slap one to the opposite field in the 9th w a runner on 2nd and two outs. They were there to:
    1. Sell tix; 2. Bomb it.; 3. Or blow it.
I AM proud to say that his head has shrunken back to a normal size (physically).

Barry could have been considered the greatest player ever if he would have just let his charisma shine instead of being the person he was. It's not a hard thing to do. If someone asks you a question you don't like, respond with how much you love the game and wish every day was a double header. If a teammate is getting better press than you, be happy for him and elevate him. Do this in earnest. If you have to fake it, then do some introspection to find out why.

This man was a HOF'er before he cheated. Why in the world did he use steriods. And obtw yes steriods makes a huge differnce. The baseballs are no longer flying out of the park
homerun totals are way down and we are almost what seems to be a dead ball era. So yea steriods make the great greater and makes the OK great. Baseball needs to make them legal so we can see the most exciting thing about baseball the home runs.

My hate for him as a Doyer fan has went away. Seems like a really cool dude. That being said, if you want to erase his steroid era, he still belongs in the Hall from his time w/ the Pirates.
