How deep qould you fish the nymph under the indicator ?
On bottom
Mid column
Or just under the surface ?

Anywhere from 4 to 8ft. Usually start at 8ft and move shorter if the fish are feeding closer to the surface.

Does the intermediate sink line give you more sensitivity to the "take" as compared to a full floater blowing in the wind?

Yes, for sure. With the dry line, you are more reliant on the indicator for the take, especially when the fish are not feeding aggressively.

First off a big thank you to you boys. As a newby to fly fishing I am totally dumfounded when I go into a store and look at all the flies available to buy. Can you recommend a reasonably priced ID guide which will hopefully help this old bugger sort them out?
