    Dang Johonny, has it been 2 yrs already. I guess time flies when your having fun. Dig the video, people have to realize that the GRIDDLE is just a heating source. Food will come out the same even though your flat top is not the same shade of black, brown or what ever. Steel is steel, you really cant break it. Thanks for the video and GRIDDLE ON DUDE.

    Great video Johnny. I was just at Benny Hannah's and my wife yelled out that i just got a new flat iron and needed some pointers. Our chef was very willing and shared several things with us. Their grills are stainless as I'm sure you know and they clean them totally after every meal, all of the "seasoning" is gone. After scraping and water treatment he used a drywall sand paper, the kind that looks like screen covered in pumice. It really does the job. I'll be there someday a long time from now and many meals later.

    • @JohnnyBrunet
      @JohnnyBrunet  Рік тому +1

      Oh that's cool that he gave you some pointers. Ya they have those really nice stainless steel flat tops so they don't need to build up seasoning like we do. I'm sure you'll be there on day buddy, just on cook at a time. Thanks for watching.

    That cleaned up good Johnny I remember deer hunting at the cabin at the neighbours cabin. Every morning we'd have to clean the griddle to get rid of the footprints from the raccoons and it was a lot dirtier than yours was but we ate bacon and eggs off it anyway. Yes you do need a lid. But that is a great way to do a proper re-seasoning on it. Thanks again Johnny

    One part molasses to 9 parts water, mixed together, will remove rust. If you can put the item into a sealed plastic container, let it soak for a few days, examine, reinsert if needed.
    It might take longer, a week or so, but the rust will be reduced to grey residue. Running water, scrubber, will remove the residue.
    You much lightly oil the metal as soon as you are done, it will start rusting immediately.
    Try it on some rusting tool. Yes in warm weather it will smell, one reason to seal it up.
    I'm wondering if a low watt Incondescent bulb would keep the rust from forming? It's at a certain cold temperature, 55 or so, up, down, where it gets warm, cold, that sweat happens, and rust gets going well.
    I wonder if one of those cheap wax, fragrance burners that uses a bulb, could be placed say under the hood, under the stove to provide just a little heat to stop rusting?
