Darrell has a nice rocking chair in the office at his Honda dealership. The rocking chair has a plaque on it that reads, " To my friend Darrell for the retirement years. Dale Earnhardt. " What a treasure.
Given to him exactly three months before the 01 Daytona 500. It's something Darrell will cherish probably more than anything anyone will ever be able to give him.
Darrell is a great ambassador for the sport and I am telling my age but in the late 70's early 80's he was the man, especially on short tracks. Darrell a top 10 driver all time in Nascar and a great commentator
Definitely one of the smartest , back when you had to take care of your equipment. He was probably the best finisher of a race back when grip and hp was mechanical and not so aerodynamic.
Poor Brian Kilmeade, first he says Jr died, then he says Danica has won in Nascar. Ummmmm ,no. I wish they would have someone do these interviews that knows what they are talking about.
There are in the last corner, the right hander before going down the front stretch. Since multiple series race at the Glen, armco is the best way to go in that case. If you had safer barriers at the bottom of the hill on the first corner it would be more dangerous. But they are always trying to improve safety at that track which is a good thing.
It took Earnhardt dying for NASCAR to get serious about safety, even though Kenny Irwin and Adam Petty died the year before of the same Basilar skull fracture. Too little too late. Then again, NASCAR has made nothing but terrible decisions the past 20 years
Tony Roper Born Anthony Dean Roper December 23, 1964 Springfield, Missouri, U.S. Died October 14, 2000 (aged 35) Ft. Worth, Texas, U.S. Cause of death Neck injury from racing accident in the O'Reilly 400 at Texas Motor Speedway
that's the basics. You can say the basics of every sport. Basketball is a sport with men in shorts dribbling a ball. Baseball is nothing but stick and ball and steroids. Football (NFL not soccer) is wrestling with a ball. The athletes/stars are the ones that make it enjoyable to watch.
@@addisonroos5663 he was correcting himself when he said SR. He just talking fast. So what he may not be a huge race fan. He wasn't call DW sr. He messed up when he said Jr and corrected himself and said SR. There was just another word in between.
"Why write a book about something that's so painful...?" This is why Fox "News" is the "president's" favorite news channel. You have to be a special kind of stupid to ask a question like that of an author.
Ricky Bobby say you can protect the skulls in foosballs but you can't protect the brain...cuz the brain just floating around in there like its in a swimming pool, CHIP
Kenny Irwin Jr. Born Kenneth Dale Irwin Jr. August 5, 1969 Indianapolis, Indiana, United States Died July 7, 2000 (aged 30) Cause of death Basilar skull fracture from racing accident
rjhinnj I like to see you do it there's a lot more to it than just turning you actually have to be in shape to drive in nascar and plus going almost 200 mph and the g-forces from the turns it's not as simple as you think it is if it were everyone would be doing it

VJC he meant, since the Car Of Tomorrow. After Dale. ( knitpickin trolls).
Then Darrell gave Rusty Wallace and Ricky Rudd rocking chairs to continue that tradition.

He was the man in 81, 82 and 85 and that was because of Junior Johnson.
I really want to see a documentary about the Bobby Allison/ Darrel Waltrip feud. Allison did not like DW at all.
"Darrell you're yelling at me!" clearly has never talked to Darrell before hahah... love him
That introduction is the very reason that people who don't understand NASCAR should not conduct interviews with NASCAR personalities....
I was thinkin the exaaaaact same thing
Talk about cringe
He shouldn’t be in “News” at all. He’s pathetic
DW has an awesome personality.
When GOD calls, yer going.....
Ol DW on The Dang Dale Jr Download is an amazing hour or so
I agree. Dw was crazy and he is one of the best drivers/commentators. EVER
Waltrip, I believe is 1 of the top 10 drivers EVER; any one agree?
I agree he is one of the greatest.
and THE best commentator ever
Definitely one of the smartest , back when you had to take care of your equipment. He was probably the best finisher of a race back when grip and hp was mechanical and not so aerodynamic.
AAAAAH, yeah. 84 wins and 3 championships-LEGEND.
84 wins.....I think that speaks for itself.
Poor Brian Kilmeade, first he says Jr died, then he says Danica has won in Nascar. Ummmmm ,no. I wish they would have someone do these interviews that knows what they are talking about.
Amen!
DW remembers earnhardt.... You know who else does? Dale Jr.
Dale Jr doesn't like to talk about his dad's death he's said that before
Can you blame him? I wouldn't want to talk about my fathers death either, especially if my father was to die the way his did protecting me.
IndyNASCAR 2017 well actually they weren’t as close as you think
JayRabid I know but he was always the favorite child
I read the comments below and none of you Jabronis have a clue, your probably fantasy fans.
Love DW!!
6/5/20 I still LOVE & MISS the # 3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Forever a fan... of #3 "The Man" !!!
That's what the issue is now, too many people who don't understand what NASCAR is are running the sport and are involved in it and its guidance.
"Darrell you're yelling at me"
Safer barrier's still missing at Watkins, dangerous track.

If you had safer barriers at the bottom of the hill on the first corner it would be more dangerous. But they are always trying to improve safety at that track which is a good thing.
The majority of the barriers at Watkins Glen are a form of safer barrier, IE: tires, earth.
the glenn is also host to many different classes of racing. ( see you didnt mention sanoma tho )
J.D. McDuffie.....
Precious
Trevor Bayne is currently a barista, black balled from NASCAR
It took Earnhardt dying for NASCAR to get serious about safety, even though Kenny Irwin and Adam Petty died the year before of the same Basilar skull fracture. Too little too late. Then again, NASCAR has made nothing but terrible decisions the past 20 years
He's not yelling at ya that's just the way he talks.

Adam petty was the year before Dale
0:23 *Are you kidding me?*
Are you kidding me? He corrected himself idiot
no disrespect to dw or dale, but he wasn't the last guy killed in a stock car. ie Erik Martin and Blaise Alexander
+jaked812812 I think he means NASCAR.
blaise alexander was killed in 2000
+#dontvotefortrump 2016 Blaise died on October 4 2001 well after dale sr
+NBreezii I do believe that Darrell Waltrip meant NASCAR, but he actually said stock car
there was also Dan Wheldon 2011 in IndyCar
That interviewer was not good at all.

wow talk about insulting a guy " if trevor bayne can win it why cant danica" lol
Not true Adam petty died
Adam Petty died in 2000 Dale Earnhardt dies in 2001 so what Darrell said is true, no NASCAR driver has died in a stock car since his death in 2001.
I didn’t know he and Michael are brothers!
nah its fox news, what would you expect
Fox News guy obviously a huge NASCAR fan.
👎
Darrell really needs to switch to de-caff
He's always been like that, even without coffee!
