It's nice you did this video. you use more lubricant than is necessary, and just rolling them on the pad should suffice. A+ on that nice shiny clean brass

    Holy Shit!!!
How on earth do you ever get out to shoot???
I'm not saying your methods don't work.
I am saying I have never seen anybody take so much time to lube cases.
    Good Luck & Happy shooting!!!

1:12 lanolin to 99% isopropyl alcohol. A few quick sprays and you're resizing hundreds per hour.

***** It did. I used to slather lube along the case shoulder until I saw this video. I made some .308s last night using this lube technique and the resizing went perfectly.
      Thanks.

I usually just put a little lube on my fingers and thumb and roll the cartridge in my hand a few times; usually can lube 5-10 cases before having to add more to my hand.
Everybody has a process but that looks like a LOT of lube wasted....

      I've since switched to Hornady's spray lube...much faster..less mess. 😉

You don't seem to be sizing the outside of the necks and the shoulder.

    • @ETHRON1
      @ETHRON1  6 років тому

It is a "Full Length Resizing Die" it does it all at once....

Sorry, I meant to say you don't seem to be lubing the outside of the necks and the shoulders.

      No worries...
I was taught not to...but at 3:55 I did the inside, and at 4:33 i barely run around the neck, it is not needed on the shoulder... and it depends on the case lube.... this type can build up inside the die and actually put a dent on the shoulder... I've done it....

ETHRON1 I’ve got the denting issue using regular case lube as well as Redding case wax. While using 1/100th as much as you appear to be using here. Can’t figure it out.

I tried 8 different types of lube. Two different kinds of dies. 8 straight cases stuck in the die. Nothing works. I am an expert on removing stuck cases but 8 tries I have never successfully sized a case. 22 years ago I reloaded a lot with zero stuck cases. 30 06 and 308. Same calibers this time but EVERY CASE gets stuck. Waste of money. The dies are crap compared to what they were 20 years ago.

I honestly never loaded a say in my life until about a month ago 9mm and 223 a few days ago. 9 with lee dies and 223 with rcbs, they work like a charm. Maybe you just aren’t following the directions correctly. The dies are not the issue.

@@basketcas3717 Agree. It is the singrer and not the song. Excess lube was one big culprit. THis causes the excess compression blocking the hole in the die body.
That is one me....Problem remedied and thanks for your courtesy and input. My dumb ass fault.

You put WAY TOO MUCH lube on these cases! Not to mention you can spin the case and get a much quicker coverage.

Howdy ETHRON1…Sizing with the Lee sizer just got fast…please watch this short clip we put on You Tube in order for Lee to look at it and possibly modify their sizing approach.

This is cave man style. Buy yourself a lube pad and use it properly. Better yet look at a S Die , Lee Collet or a neck sizer with carbide expander. You are using way to much lube. I only full length my brass when hunting large animals. You are creating a whole lot of work for no return.
