This tip helped me with accuracy and correct launch conditions. Great stuff mate ⛳
Lovely to hear that, thank you for sharing! 🙌
This is not a "One Trick Improvement" video. This is a continuous lessons theme approach requiring students to actually invest in effort to improve thru time. Thank you, Stuart.
It’s my pleasure and I’m very happy people are appreciating this is education, not sugar rush tv. A whole new dimension to gaining true enjoyment of our beloved game. Own it. Best wishes Stu 😊
Yes, sir, I actually felt the left arm working like a lever, allowing the elbow to target in downswing. It naturally wanted to square the face, and it was less effort. Thanks for the knowledge.
My pleasure, glad it had a positive affect. Best wishes Stu 😊
Stuart, don’t normally post, but just spent about 10 mins trying this move from watching the vid. From an over the top, early extending 11 index player, this information is WOW. The continuous sweet strike is unreal. Cheers
Amazing Craig, thank you so much for sharing your experience! Hugely appreciated my friend. Keep up the great work! Best wishes Stu 😊
Great video. I have a few tendencies and one is my left hand grip weakening over time until the point it gets obvious and I self correct. Seeing how the strong grip also helps preset the elbow, causing it to want to return to that position, thus closing the club face is SO SO helpful!! And once the strong left hand is on the club, the corresponding position of the right hand gets my right elbow in that correct position where the inside of the elbow points away from the body. I love when one change fixes other issues for free.
Super happy you enjoyed Eric. Thank you for sharing your kind comments. Best wishes Stu
@@GoodGolfCoaching just got back from the range and this tightened everything up…
Brilliant
Congratulations on the 10k Stu, no doubt many more to come 🎉
Thanks Steven!
Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subscribers Stuart. Keep going. We love your teaching.
Thank you so much Thomas!! I am over the moon with getting this far and enjoying the process every day. Best wishes Stu 😊
Great video. Explains a lot. Such a golf education. ⛳️
Thanks Mark! Much appreciated. 😊
Stu, you're mighty close to 10k subscrbers, well done. This video was another good one, many people may talk about grip, but you're the first that I know who also talks about elbow position and how it affects swing movement. Thanks for the education. Cheers.
Thanks buddy. Not far off now… Glad you enjoyed the video my friend!
Best video you have done. So so informative. Thanks
Wow thank you Mayo! Very very kind feedback. Best wishes Stu 😊
If I could subscribe 100 times I would. You deserve as much promotion as you can get with the high quality of information you are providing. Perhaps the single most important thing that you introduced me to was the downward pressure on the handle through delivery and impact. Improved my ability to control the club head. Reduced my flipping, and hitting toe shots with high dynamic loft. Hope that makes sense. Thank you so much.
Really appreciate the kind words my friend, and super happy I have managed to help your golf. Look forward to hearing how you progress! Best wishes Stu
Enjoying your vids, Stuart. I've benefitted lots from a previous vid on left arm rotation and have done quite a few reps of left arm only shots while walking my dog 😊
Great to hear John, keep up the great work my friend! Best wishes Stu
This is amazing.
I don't have to think about shoulder rotation now.
This happens naturally and automatically.
Thanks a lot, Coach 😁
Thank you my friend, much appreciated! Super happy it helped. Best wishes Stu 😊
Sounds very logic. I'll try on Saturday. TNX
Let me know how you get on and any questions, do feel free to ask! Best wishes Stu 😊
Awesome stuff!!
Thanks Chris!
Another great one Stu, this may be one of my missing links.
Great to hear.. please let me know how you get on! Best wishes Stu
Stuart, i watched almost all your videos and absolutely love the educational approach, i have so more trust when i understand why to change something.
You mentioned the importance of pulling the hands towards the ball first, as a "steepener" who pulls the hands downwards and then very close to the body, i would be highly interested in more information on how to pull it outside towards the ball in the beginning. Can you recommend drills for that purpose or did i miss a video?
Hi there, thank you so much for watching a lot of my content, very grateful indeed. Take a look at this video - ua-cam.com/video/AIqi0qMQOCw/v-deo.html and standy tomorrow at 10am for another video pivotal on what you have requested to know more about. Best wishes Stu
Brilliant!!
Thank you Dave!
Never thought of the left elbow before but it makes so much sense ….. everyone talks about the trail elbow but not the lead…. Going to have a play 😊
Excellent Andy, do let me know how you get on. Best wishes Stu 😊
Where do you live where it's nice enough to get out to play? 😂
@@DaGolfViking Surrey, England, the UK…..not often you can’t play
@andycorso8498 Wow! Im on my way.🤣 Honestly, though, you have no idea how much I'd love to visit England. Sounds amazing
Surrey is the mecca of golf course in the UK. 🇬🇧
This is awesome
Thanks Gregory!
Thanks!
Thank you! Really generous, hugely appreciated my friend. Best wishes Stu 😊
Hello Stuart, congratulations for 10k , i observed, that in your pre shot routine sometimes you make a special move with your left arm in the direction of the target. Is this especially for the elbow, or grip or both?
Thank you for your expertise,
20k soon,
Norbert
Thank you Norbert, a very happy milestone. Well spotted in my pre shot routine too, yes it’s for both grip and elbow Sir. 😊 Best wishes Stu
Without any conscious thought my left elbow has been pointing back toward the left hip. Just gripping the club and taking an address position that is where it ends up. For some reason it must feel stronger to me. Plan to give the "pointing at the target" position a try and see what happens. The way you explain it makes sense to me.
I really am excited to hear how this works for you. I am excited for great things my friend. Best wishes Stu 😊
Tried it yesterday. Seemed to work pretty well. Had my best scoring round in a while. A general question for you. When I try something new for the first time I can perform the move after just a few swings. However, when I come back to perform the same move the next day I have lost it and struggle to get it back. Is this a quirk in human learning? Have you run into this with your students?
Hi David - there is always a euphoric moment of change, the problem is the point at which you migrate from the old to the new and knowing how hard to push the feels. If you find the performance drop off, push the feel even harder or even film and confirm you are doing as much as before. Usually, after a positive result from change, most golfers reduce the intensity of the feeling which impact the results negatively. Hope this helps Sir. @@user-mc6jj4xm2c
Now that’s good golf coaching.
Did you do this video because of Bryson and Paige’s video?
The GX clubs feel very near the titleist glove, at a better price point.
Hey Billy, I’ve not seen the Bryson, Paige video I’m afraid, did they cover something similar? Glad you’re enjoying the GX Gloves, they’re such great quality and value. Best wishes Stu 😊
My reference video for this left elbow will be after the lefthand grip video.this was the missing link i needed.
Happy to read this Yeo, sounds like you’re on a roll! Best wishes Stu 😊
@@GoodGolfCoaching although it takes practice n time to learn all these as my new swing (old move sometimes comes back but much less now).im definitely getting a swing i can repeat with accuracy n with distance coming back.at age of 68 i would like to say never too late to relearn n worth every effort.i can enjoy strain free easy swing.the strong grip w shoulder pressing is the key element ✊✊✊will definitely try to travel to uk from asia to hv personal lessons from sifu stuart👍👍👍thank you stuart for not holding back these magic moves that we hv been deprived by the golf industry 😅😅😅
Never ever too late to learn!
Very interesting video. Most youtube coaches talk often about the the Hogan approach of having elbows point to each hip. Stuart, I have a very strong lead grip yet my elbow is most comfortable pointing back to the hip. I tried some practice swings with a strong grip and internally rotating my shoulder to point the elbow towards the target and it felt like the takeaway was more "solid" and felt (haven't confirmed with video) that it was easier to get the club on the right path/plane in the backswing. Does that make sense?
Absolutely Dan, as explained in the video my friend. Thanks for sharing your positive experience!
@@GoodGolfCoaching that's crazy! the feeling is so different (better) and yet no one is talking about it (other than you). THANKS!
Its my pleasure.. and Im super happy its made you happy my friend. Hope you'll hang around for more content my friend. @@dangagliardi1093
@@GoodGolfCoaching Never miss an episode. Have shared your channel with all my golf buddies.
Bless you - really appreciate that Dan @@dangagliardi1093
For many years, I followed Hogans 5 lessons. Im sure you know he fought a hook. I wasn't aware then. I blindly followed his elbow pockets pointed in the sky. Plus, his weaker grip, for him, promoted his preferred fade. Of course, most of us fight the slice. For a while it worked, I was connected, but quick fixes never last, do they ? Your lesson here pointed out my fault very clearly as regards to the lead elbow. Off to the range today to work on this drill, just going through your moves here indoors makes it obvious to me what im doing wrong. Brilliant insight, even though you got tounge tied early on, lol ! Many thanks Stuart.
Thanks Keith for the kind words, more coffee needed! Best wishes Stu
@GoodGolfCoaching just been to the range. My elbow pocket has looked at the sky of late, so it was an effort to get the elbow looking at the target. I started out with half swings, gradually swinging longer. The results were obviously better. I did pull a few, but some draws in there too. It'll take a while to bed in, but I know it's on the right track. For those of you who may think it's complicated, it isn't. Copy Stuart's movement in this video and you'll feel and see the difference. Swing slowly at first.
Thanks again Stuart
Lovely feedback Keith, really pleased you managed to apply and see some solid results to build from. Much appreciate the kind words of encouragement to others too! Best wishes Stu 😊
@GoodGolfCoaching it's the least I can do Stu. It really helps to know why things work. I'm in my 33rd year playing this game, we never stop learning. Cheers 🍻
You speak with much wisdom 😊❤️
I will to lead with the elbow but it really feels awkward. I feel like I really need to strengthen my grip. Could this lead to tennis elbow though?
Quite the opposite. Tennis/Golf elbow comes from a poor grip and misaligned elbow. This will help beyond your imagination. 😊
My left arm tends to rotate too much and I get laid off at the top, which seems to be due to my left elbow being turns toward my hip. All this time I’ve been following the hogan idea but it seems to cause me issues.
I don’t think you’re alone there my friend. Thanks for sharing your experience, always welcome. Best wishes Stu 😊
Start at the final 3 minutes. Rest is just confusing
Sorry I confused you!
Very confusing. Show the camera On the left elbow at impact. Show every angle.. front, from right, left, top, …
So sorry it confused, I’ll try harder to get even more camera angles next time for you. Best wishes Stu 😊
Just take vlose up of elbow - starting, take away, upswing, down swing vertical drop, parallel to ground, impact, after impact next 12 inches, rotation of the elbow after … still pictures are fine.. and each segment of these by video..
@@user-xl9ex1mc5g 😂😂😂
how does this effect the driver downswing?
It will help square the club face 😊
Please post still pictures of elbow positions .. in the total swing.
I got confused with what one should not .. too much of that..
Impossible to post stills unfortunately. Hit pause and this should help you 😊
Ok. Please post just the correct swing path with left elbow. Then I can pause and view. Too much talk, noise in the current video.
Why don’t coaches start with the correct swing and then show all the bad swings… Most videos are too much loooong talk at the beginning, then describing what amateurs do…. By then viewers lose interest..confused..

I never realized how un flexible my elbow is. I feel like I have to move my wrist to make my elbow move.
I guess it's time to work on flexibility drills. 😂😅
Get the Lycra on and get flexible punky!
@GoodGolfCoaching I'm pretty sure my wife would leave me if I start walking around the house in spandex. Nobody needs to see that. 🤣
I get your point, though. I am gonna work on that. Thanks.
Haha my pleasure. 😇
This swing thought might work for some but it does nothing for me.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Patrick! Can’t help everyone 😊
Way too confusing. Just tell us what to do. Not all the other crap with all the permiuntations
Sorry I disappointed you
It wasn't disappointing if someone just gave you the ingredients to bake a cake. You wouldn't have a clue. You need to know how it all goes together to bake it right. The understanding is the learning
Amen to that my friend! @@redwards883
Ultimately your lead elbow needs to point towards the target at address
Absolutely. Simples 😊
