my wish came true that year 2016
It's so silly, but this trailer makes me so emotional even today. The summer Pokemon Go came out was the best summer of my life. Not necessarily because of the game, but because of how many people I reconnected with over it. People I hadn't talked to since elementary school who I would randomly run into while out playing. I'd see them at random social events, but seeing them as an adult and so excited about the things that we use to bond over long ago was just such a bizarre experience. Like everyone went back to being 10 again, with their gameboy and their link cable on the playground. I would get out of work on 2nd shift at around 10pm during the week and with a group of work buddies head downtown near the water front every night and there would be hundreds of people down there all through the night just talking, catching pokemon, and having a good time. Random older people would stop us and ask us about the game because they wanted to get involved, or older ladies would let us know they feel safer going out on their nightly run with all these people around. They no longer felt it was risky to be out after dark. It might have been a bit broken, but it was definitely something special that brought people together and I hope to experience something else like it some day.

Same. Especially the scene in Times Square. I still watch the video of a mob of people sprinting into Central Park to catch Vaporeon back in 2016 from time to time. I usually visit NYC at least once a year and because of Covid I didn't last year and probably won't again this year. Hopefully in 2022 i'll be back sight seeing, going to concerts and playing PoGo.

+Fiery Nugger Mewtwo is in the game, you can get him by raiding on a "sponsored" gym. Then couple days later, you will get a random Ex Pass Invite which will tell you specific time and date for the MewTwo Raid.
Raiding was as well. Just because it advertises it doesn't mean itll be in the game right away. The game would lose popularity very quickly

I dont play Pokemon GO anymore.. but the time i had when it was released..wow i will never forget this time in my life talked to strangers.. hopped together in their car to drive to another spot where a rare pokemon is, fight together, were in whatsapp groups for raids.. making new friendships..had an amazing time outdoor. I was never so much outside in life and walked so much when i played this game.. i lost 10kgs lol.. watching this trailer again make my cry because of the good time i had and how we all grew up with PO KE MON!
PS: One of the funniest moments i had, we were camping with over 200 people at a famous Pokemon Raid and Farm place in Berlin Germany and the german police went by with their police car and played over loud speakers the "Pokemon Song" hahahaa we were all clapping and laughing together and even the police sometimes get out of their car and played with us a Raid in full uniforms ^^

I'm looking at this trailer and thinking: "That is so many people coming together to catch a MewTwo" and it actually happened. Even more people, actually, gathered in a lot of places to catch rare pokemon. It's actually crazy.

They should have an add on that is like google glass but a more affordable version specifically geared towards this so they show up in real time like in the trailer. I WOULD BUY THAT!!! wear glasses that render the Pokemon in the actual area they are in real time. and if it's not required but an option you can play on phone or have your phone as your "Pokedex" so to speak and see it all in beautiful real time view. After two years I'm still super bitter about Pokémon Go. One of the greatest concepts for a game and it fails outright in implementation.
@@Defeat_Deceit The technology just isn't there yet. All things considered, Niantic has implemented everything they promised and no other "GO" game has came close to PG.
@@Momonga-s7o What they delivered was unacceptable. I think the technology is absolutely there to make a good "GO" game. If not then the developers need to DEVELOP to make it possible. I stopped playing after two months, because it was boring. This was a perfect opportunity to have a social game were you could meet strangers on the street to duel, trade or become friends. With the horrible combat system only against NPC in gyms and the lack of any in game social interaction, made Pokemon Go worthless to play. Again, I say I'm bitter, I hope Niantic gets shut down and someone else needs to try too make this game, but with the proper Pokemon elements.

That last part of the trailer made me shed a tear. Even though this game was a world wide hit for a short time. I made so many memories with it. I used to out to the local park where lure models were always present and once in a while a rare pokemon would spawn. You would hear exitment over the entire park. I made many friends dyuring that time which many I still have contact with. Such a good time. In my opinion the closest we got to global world peace haha.

It's the end of 2018 and this everything the game has implemented so far for all the new players and people that stopped playing before the first gym update:
1. Community day every month and shiny pokémon
2. Friends, Trading and Lucky pokémon
3. Trainer Battles
4. Raids and Legendary pokémon
5. Research tasks and Mythical pokémon
6. Weather system with weather boosted spawns
The game and the community is in better shape than ever.
Yeah, other than the battle system, everything in the game is great
Newly added battles against team rocket's grunts to catch shadow pokemon and probably adding admin fights in the future too
That's all should have been implemented when the game released! The hype was real back then, but the game was half-assed. I'm happy enough with current situation at community, but still it was still kinda miss opportunity.
This game is dead, don't delude yourself. All the features you've listed are just mindless chores. There is no GAME to play.

They may start with gen 1 and then add the new Pokemon later. That's the best way for people who haven't watched the show or played the game since gen 2 or 3 to get involved as well, without them being overwhelmed by 600 other Pokemon they're not familiar with.
I mean Pokemon has been a thing for 18 years now so all of the original fans are grown up. So it'd best to start with gen 1 and work their way up as the app gets updated. I hope that it isn't just for newer devices like the iPhone 6 and I hope it isn't just for phones and that people can play from different devices.

Soooooooo I think we have to climb mt. everest to catch articuno, volcano to catch moltres, power plant to catch zaptos, underwater to catch lugia, space to catch palkia, time(?) to catch dialga, portal to catch giritina, and other more. Pokemon just made legendaries almost impossible to catch except mewtwo. And who is up to catch magmar? Magmar legit lives inside a volcano.

I can't help but think the people who are bashing this concept aren't all that familiar with the mobile gaming space. This is clearly not marketed toward the usual Pokemon demographic. It's targeting people who grew up on Pokemon who are now working adults or casual gamers that don't have time to play a more involved Pokemon game on a handheld, but have spare moments in their day to pick up and play a location based social app with a Pokemon theme. Essentially, it's Ingress, but with Pokemon.
Anybody who's expecting this to be anything like a regular pokemon game are setting themselves up for disappointment. It's like getting mad at the Pokemon trading card game because it's not on 3DS. It's a different experience.

He said, "Why would anyone want to go out and try to catch and battle pokemon when you can just buy trading cards and get the ones you want!?" He is 9, I am 22. Literally the definition of a generation gap here! Us older "kids" grew up watching the anime and also played trading cards...but I think we all took a walk out into the woods and pretended to catch them in real life. Meanwhile the younger kids nowdays are all about staying inside and having things handed to them. We are adults now and believe in working for what we have, while they want to sit back and relax and stay inside. This is why this game will appeal to us older poke fans. It will make us get out and look for our next pokemon. Meanwhile the younger kids go to the store and beg their parents to buy them a new trading card deck.

Hate to kill every ones buzz but Google Glass is a non intrusive system, basically it's made to be at the slight corner of your eye so when you focus on it it tells you enough to navigate and other things.

I remember when I was younger I was so excited for this game. I was only 7-8 years old when I played it for the first time and I fell in love with this game. I made friends, walked, discovered many new places, have been to Germany for go fest 2019, and had so much fun. I’m still playing this game to this day. Level 41, 800 shinies, tens of thousands of Pokémon caught and a go battle league player.
I’m now 13, and I went from being in the third elementary year to being in the third middle school one. I wanna thank this game for all its done for me, and wish another boom in popularity to happen soon. Thank you PGo!
