Sri Lanka Traditional New Year on the 13th of April. If you are still in Sri Lanka Don't stay in Colombo city. During the new year period, 50% going out from Colombo. it is almost empty. To get that experience go to some down south hotels and explore the location of village houses

price it's not too expensive it's a normal price, even in our country it's almost same, don't compare the price outside restaurants, of course it's cheap but inside the mall they have a lot of cost, 😊

Are you at least doing any research before calling local products artificial? At 36:34, these are world renowned brands that you are accusing. Please don't talk stuff that you dont know and mislead the mindset that the general public have regarding good quality products of Sri Lanka. MD is a brand available in more than 30 countries worldwide including USA, UK, Canada and Japan. Do you think these developed countries would import "artificial/unhealthy" food items from Sri Lanka? Your making a joke of yourself. Atleast try to google stuff and see for yourself prior to making rash comments. Hope you have a nice journey in this gem of an island Sri Lanka! :/
But the truth is most of the MD's jams are artificially flavored and made out of melon instead of the real fruit. You can read the ingredients printed on their labels if you don't trust me.
Hello Balnur, Can you please mention the prices of items in terms of US Dollars or Euro or British Pounds or such foreign currency rather than just saying the prices of the items you see at the shops in Sri Lankan rupees only and start comparing with item prices in other countries like Thailand etc. As of March 13, 2024, One US Dollar is about 306 Sri Lankan rupees so if you are comparing the prices of goods in Sri Lanka and saying the price is expensive than other countries the statements of such are not entire true and can give the wrong impression that cost of goods are very expensive for someone who is planning to visit a country such as from USA. If you compare food prices for imported goods sold in in Sri Lanka obviously it will be expensive than those that are made in Sri Lanka. If your compare the prices of a good that is available at a Supermarket in Sri Lanka vs the same kind of item at a Supermarket in USA , the item will be so much cheaper in Sri Lanka, so to state that goods at Shops in Sri Lanka are expensive does not give a correct idea as the Sri Lankan Rupee amount should be divided by about 306 as of March 13, 2024 to give the amount in US Dollars. Hope you will consider to mention the prices of goods in US Dollars as well to avoid for someone to be mislead of the prices when you compare with other countries. (For example as of March 13, 2024 one Thai Baht the currency of Thailand, is 8.59 Sri Lankan rupees) . So just because the price amount in Sri Lankan rupees will have a large numeric amount does not make it expensive if you convert the price to a currency like Thai Baht or even US Dollar. Meanwhile obviously the shops of Sri Lankan Shopping Malls like at One Galle Face or any other Five Star Hotel location will be costly, this is the same even in other countries where prices of food items at shops located within the areas of Five Star Hotels in such as USA, UK, Australia etc will be expensive and one should not complain while having the choice of whether to buy or not to buy. Next time make sure to consume a drink that has milk, such as a Milk Tea or Milk Coffee in Sri Lanka after you eat a Hot/Spicy Meal as it might feel you better after eating such a meal. Hope you both will continue to enjoy your travel in Sri Lanka, and share more nice videos from your adventures. 👍
The supermarket item prices are just normal prices. They are not too expensive. I mean the toilet paper its just 300 only.. 🤦🤦 foodcourt prices are expensive I agree with that. But 1100-2500 is actually the normal rate cos the dish is enough to for two poeple

I come to the offices regularly for work, and I usually eat a submarine meal from Subway for 1500 LKR, and have some tea at Chaiwala for 200 LKR. You will find most small restaurants in suburbs have similar pricing. In my opinion, the prices at such a location is very reasonable.
Hi guys, regrets to inform u that if these prices are not affordable, I don’t have any words for u whereas it’s a bargain than a locals. Be a foreigner in a respective way. The way u speak like a very posh, but when it comes to the prices and reality, u r a bargainer than a local which make us also very sad.. also be sure not to compare Sri Lankans with India. Our culture, foods, people more better than most of south Asian countries.. however, have a nice journey in the most beautiful country which v call Sri Lanka and enjoy well.. 🙏🏻

35:34 The yellow drink you mention as suspicious is called Cream Soda a Sri Lankan product, one of the most popular and old drinks in Sri Lanka. Fanta yellow is the competing product from Coca-Cola for that came recently. But Cream Soda has existed for many generations. 36:30 This jam is from MD. MD is a well reputed trusted brand in Sri Lanka and in international.
