Quickest match I ever had was with a Greninja. Opponent was using an Alolan Golem to start off and I sent out Greninja. I used Spikes which changed Gren to ground while Golem used Explosion with its ability turning it into an electric move, which Greninja survived due to changing to a ground type while Golem fainted. The other player disconnected straight after that.
As overpowered as Dracovish is, I don't hate it for that, cuz I can predict it'll be nerfed to oblivion in gen 9 like it happened to Gengar and Talonlame.

The other Kanto starters at least were still blessed with a mega evolution and Gigantamax form in the Sword and Shield expansion packs while the other Kalos starters are left in the dust. Charizard is overhyped, but people still loved it even though it sucked in battle. Game Freak and TPC gave Charizard everything in response to its popularity. Meanwhile, Greninja got everything from the get-go. Greninja has the stats, movepool, and ability to do great in the competitive scene while Chesnaught and Delphox languish behind. Greninja also has a more appealing design than the other Kalos starters to most people. It got in Smash, was Ash's ace, and even got an exclusive form. Greninja was manufactured to become a popular Pokemon and it worked. This is coming from someone who has Greninja as one of my favorite Pokemon btw.

Cinderace is an absolute monster. Slower than Greninja, but sturdier and hits harder. Also benefits from Gigantamax's stat boosts and Gmax Fireball, which destroys Mimikyu's disguise. The king of single battles.

Greninja is a pokemon where you want to battle with it non-shiny. Shiny Ash-Greninja is impossible to legitimately get, so when I see people flexing their shiny Greninjas online, I easily know they're using Protean and can plan around that. It's a situation where your flex can become your downfall.

I'm actually not sure why they didn't just give Cinderace Protean, I mean, they are literally the same thing. However Greninja had a better move pool to select from to have greater type coverages. As well as had more balanced attack vs attack stat (95 A, 103 SA) that made it possible to take it physical or special, while Cinderace has to go physical (116 A, 65 SA). Cinderace is still awesome with easily the single best looking G-Max form that makes me miss megas, but w/e I guess, I hope they come back at some point.
It says a lot about Greninja when a video on it has nearly 30 minutes, when Delphox, a starter from the same gen, is 1/3 of the length. Just shows how much a great ability -and favoritism- can affect a mon.

Gen Kaiba if only Delphox had magic bounce instead of magician as its hidden ability and a bit more coverage then at least it could of had some successes. Its a shame too because Delphox has great special attack, solid speed and special defence.
@@mectainea5575 Maybe Magic Guard instead of Magic Bounce, it would give it safe Stealth Rock switches as well as let it use Life Orb without taking any tick damage. I'm not sure if we'd really want the Fox with Bounce powers, especially with how fast it is, how strong it is, and how many tools it has. Will-o-wisp, Trick Room, dual screens, Sunny Day, Calm Mind, Psychic Terrain, and Ally Switch, all on a mon that can reflect non-damaging moves? That'd be disgusting, especially Ally Switch in doubles. You could literally perma-deny status onto an important teammate by threatening with bounces and setup, along with your own decent damage output. Plus, while the Fox has some pretty nasty weaknesses (Ground, Rock, Ghost, Water, Dark), she also has some really good resistances (Fighting, Steel, Fire, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Fairy). She'd be hellish when paired with someone like Tapu Bulu, who would cover Ground, Rock, Water, and Dark, while also really appreciating someone who can take out Poison, Ice, and Steel types who would otherwise be hard for it to fight.

Also yea from what you mentioned, I can see magic bounce delphox to be a very irritating Pokémon if it had magic bounce (and I forgot it had ally switch so it would be disgusting).

Hahaha the Pledge Moves. Back in SM I had an absolutely Evil team where I would lead with Greninja and Charizard. I would Water + Fire Pledge for the Serene Grace and then spam Rock Slide on both of them for two 60% Chances to flinch.
Nah. Greninja is WAY stronger than Cinderace. Cinderace has average Coverage other than Gunk Shot to slay Clefable. Iron Head is meh. Sucker Punch is meh. And, Zen Missbutt is eh. For Greninja, it has great Mixed Attacking stats, which massively sets apart from Cinderace. Plus, Court Change is a mandatory move slot for Hazard Control. As well as Pyro Ball and U-Turn.

I was on Team Froakie before it was cool. When I saw Greninja for the first time admittedly I was like "WTF?!" because of that tongue scarf. I couldn't decide if it was genius or insane. It ended up as my favorite Pokémon of all time. I love its design, its ability (especially since it fits with the ninja "master-of-disguise" motif), and its shiny (again fits in with its ninja theme and is great looking to boot). It got me to watch the anime again, which IMO is the best season. I was also estactic that it got in Smash 4 (didn't see coming) and is now a top tier threat in Smash Ultimate without all that BS nerfs (I wish Sakurai would leave that Pokemon alone). I haven't felt this excited over a Pokémon since I was a kid with Charizard, only except Greninja was as competitive as the anime depict it to be. I wasn't looking forward to Sun/Moon but I admit I was suckered in because of that Ash-Greninja demo (best demo ever). I really like Battle Bond Greninja due to how convenient it was to get and that it felt like a balanced "mega". You had to legit earned its overpowered form. While I'm not too happy that it's not in Sw/Sh, at least there's still Smash and it won Pokémon of the year. I hope Greninja continues to be one of the best starters. If it gets "nerfed", I hope it's still competitive like Aegislash and not end up like Talonflame. It annoys me that Gamefreak is using Cinderace to be the next Greninja with Libero instead of giving it is own originality. That just felt like they were not even being subtle about who they want to be the IT Pokémon without waiting for the fans to decide for themselves. Sorry for the essay. I'm just glad that you covered him despite being too soon for Gen 6 and I hope a Smash analysis video is coming up. For next Pokémon, I like to see Ferrothorn or a Swampert remake (Gen 7).
Greninja has everything: Great speed, great sp. attack, good coverage moves, access to Spikes, Mat Block, Protean ability and Battle Bond. It was a threat in the competitive scene and both the anime and Super Smash Bros. gave it even more love. It's my favorite pokémon and I trolled so many times with it alongside some Z-moves, Battle Bond and Dark Pulse with flinching xd

You forgot one place: Smash bros. He is, much like sheik, in the ninja archetype, a light, tall character with lackluster damage but amazing, versatile combos until high percentages. In smash 4 he was... decent, a higher mid tier who popularized the "better nerf greninja" because he was losing constantly his gimmicks, forced to rely on footstools. In Ultimate he is a High tier because of a lot of new kill confirms into up smash (He really loves the landing lag reduction), good enough to win top players, specially by players like Glutonny or Lea, but not so popular because Joker outshines almost everyone; still, you know a character is good when he can achieve top 8 in a big tournament like glitch 8.
@@mr.krustykrust That's also a Joker and Sheik gimmick who is decent and can be used alongside lick, but he also gained a safer kill confirm in down tilt and N-air. The problem with Greninja in Smash 4 was its bad air game outside of up-air and footstools, because he couldn't autocancel any air move in a short hop (He still can't, but landing lag is lower in ultimate), as well as a terrible grab game and being the Smash's equivalent of Irelia; if something taught me Little Mac, is that air game, recovery and grabs are important to not being an awful bottom tier (At least the ninja has the second one). Ultimate greninja still lacks a good grab game, but so do Joker, and at least he (Ash's greninja is male) has now a good synergy between ground and air moves, and more options in general which is important (Ask Ike, Piranha plant or Little Mac if you don't believe me).
@@bunabobby No character is perfect. Greninja does NOT have an amazing frame data, he has incredibly low endlag and startup on GROUNDED moves, which allow him to have sick combos. The only usable OoS is the B-air. You know someone has terrible defensive game when his most reliable OoS is jab.
Of all the gen 6 pokemon that could've been covered, I'm glad that it was Greninja who was chosen to be the first gen 6 pokemon. Greninja was tailor made to be one of the best pokemon of all time, in both competitive pokemon and the hearts of fans. I still want you to cover Krookodile though

Seeing the absolute madlad-ism of Protean makes me wonder how even more amazing Cinderace can get when he finally receives Libero as an ability. He's coverage pales in comparison to Greninja's for the most part, but even some sets with gimmicky moves like Electro Ball could be enabled by that ability I think
Imagine how lucky Greninja got. It was given a cool design and right off the bat it was put in Smash 4 just off the design alone. But if didn’t fare in battle well, it wouldn’t have gotten as popular. Luckily, it was born a Pokemon with a great design, a great statspread, and a great hidden ability. Then to put the cherry on top, it absolutely shined in the XYZ anime, being both written and animated spectacularly. No wonder it won Pokemon of the year.
Greninja's statspread is that it has good speed and everything else is just mediocre so how is that a great statspread? Also in terms of writing Greninja in the anime has pretty much no personality, is a complete gary stu when it comes to battles and just happens to have a very very rare special ability what turns it into a new form what by a complete coincidence just happens to look like what his current trainer is wearing so not really written well by any means either.

I'd just like to give my personal experience with Greninja despite no one asking. So I missed ALOT of gens of Pokémon cause my family was literally dirt poor. Meaning the only gen I got to play was gen 1. I got to watch some friends play gen 2 but after that, Pokémon was not around for me. Fast forward 20 years and Sun &Moon came out. My fiancé bought it night of release for my birthday. I had to learn alot really fast, but I loved it. Then someone showed me Greninja. And to say that I fell in love with it is an understatement. I found all the anime I missed as a kid and re watched all of it BECAUSE of Greninja lmfao. I loved its design, the typing, the overall feel and playstyle. Greninja became not only my favorite starter, but one of my favorite Pokémon of all time. I sucked at competitive because I was missing like 15 years of experience, but Greninja made fall head first into competitive for the first time ever, and helped me learn a lot about the basics and strats and just how brutal competitive could actually be for Pokémon. I'm still not great by any means, but I can hold my own now. I miss him, wish he was in gen 8 but it is what it is. I get that he is just as hyped as Charizard popularity wise, but in my opinion, he's better. I'm glad that newer generations has a Pokémon that is what Charizard was for my generation.
I loved using Greninja in gen 6, it was always such a good time. I think any buffs to it for doubles would have negative effects on it for singles. If it gets a defensive buff in doubles, then all the issues it causes in singles are exacerbated. I think greninja allows for such creativity from trainers that people are always gonna try to find a way with it as it is
I typically ran Ash greninja with magnet pull magnazone, and excadrill to answer 90% of ash greninja's counters such as ferrothorn, toxipex, and others

Greninja is a pokemon where you want to battle with it non-shiny. Shiny Ash-Greninja is impossible to legitimately get, so when I see people flexing their shiny Greninjas online, I easily know they're using Protean and can plan around that. It's a situation where your flex can become your downfall.

I'm actually not sure why they didn't just give Cinderace Protean, I mean, they are literally the same thing. However Greninja had a better move pool to select from to have greater type coverages. As well as had more balanced attack vs attack stat (95 A, 103 SA) that made it possible to take it physical or special, while Cinderace has to go physical (116 A, 65 SA). Cinderace is still awesome with easily the single best looking G-Max form that makes me miss megas, but w/e I guess, I hope they come back at some point.

I'm not sure if we'd really want the Fox with Bounce powers, especially with how fast it is, how strong it is, and how many tools it has. Will-o-wisp, Trick Room, dual screens, Sunny Day, Calm Mind, Psychic Terrain, and Ally Switch, all on a mon that can reflect non-damaging moves? That'd be disgusting, especially Ally Switch in doubles. You could literally perma-deny status onto an important teammate by threatening with bounces and setup, along with your own decent damage output. Plus, while the Fox has some pretty nasty weaknesses (Ground, Rock, Ghost, Water, Dark), she also has some really good resistances (Fighting, Steel, Fire, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Fairy). She'd be hellish when paired with someone like Tapu Bulu, who would cover Ground, Rock, Water, and Dark, while also really appreciating someone who can take out Poison, Ice, and Steel types who would otherwise be hard for it to fight.

Nah. Greninja is WAY stronger than Cinderace. Cinderace has average Coverage other than Gunk Shot to slay Clefable. Iron Head is meh. Sucker Punch is meh. And, Zen Missbutt is eh. For Greninja, it has great Mixed Attacking stats, which massively sets apart from Cinderace.
Plus, Court Change is a mandatory move slot for Hazard Control. As well as Pyro Ball and U-Turn.

I was on Team Froakie before it was cool. When I saw Greninja for the first time admittedly I was like "WTF?!" because of that tongue scarf. I couldn't decide if it was genius or insane. It ended up as my favorite Pokémon of all time. I love its design, its ability (especially since it fits with the ninja "master-of-disguise" motif), and its shiny (again fits in with its ninja theme and is great looking to boot). It got me to watch the anime again, which IMO is the best season. I was also estactic that it got in Smash 4 (didn't see coming) and is now a top tier threat in Smash Ultimate without all that BS nerfs (I wish Sakurai would leave that Pokemon alone). I haven't felt this excited over a Pokémon since I was a kid with Charizard, only except Greninja was as competitive as the anime depict it to be.
I wasn't looking forward to Sun/Moon but I admit I was suckered in because of that Ash-Greninja demo (best demo ever). I really like Battle Bond Greninja due to how convenient it was to get and that it felt like a balanced "mega". You had to legit earned its overpowered form.
While I'm not too happy that it's not in Sw/Sh, at least there's still Smash and it won Pokémon of the year. I hope Greninja continues to be one of the best starters. If it gets "nerfed", I hope it's still competitive like Aegislash and not end up like Talonflame. It annoys me that Gamefreak is using Cinderace to be the next Greninja with Libero instead of giving it is own originality. That just felt like they were not even being subtle about who they want to be the IT Pokémon without waiting for the fans to decide for themselves.
Sorry for the essay. I'm just glad that you covered him despite being too soon for Gen 6 and I hope a Smash analysis video is coming up. For next Pokémon, I like to see Ferrothorn or a Swampert remake (Gen 7).

Greninja has everything: Great speed, great sp. attack, good coverage moves, access to Spikes, Mat Block, Protean ability and Battle Bond. It was a threat in the competitive scene and both the anime and Super Smash Bros. gave it even more love. You forgot one place: Smash bros. He is, much like sheik, in the ninja archetype, a light, tall character with lackluster damage but amazing, versatile combos until high percentages. In smash 4 he was... decent, a higher mid tier who popularized the "better nerf greninja" because he was losing constantly his gimmicks, forced to rely on footstools.
In Ultimate he is a High tier because of a lot of new kill confirms into up smash (He really loves the landing lag reduction), good enough to win top players, specially by players like Glutonny or Lea, but not so popular because Joker outshines almost everyone; still, you know a character is good when he can achieve top 8 in a big tournament like glitch 8.
Can’t forget his falling speed allows for up-air drag downs as well
Nothing is funnier than using your enemies as a trampoline.

The problem with Greninja in Smash 4 was its bad air game outside of up-air and footstools, because he couldn't autocancel any air move in a short hop (He still can't, but landing lag is lower in ultimate), as well as a terrible grab game and being the Smash's equivalent of Irelia; if something taught me Little Mac, is that air game, recovery and grabs are important to not being an awful bottom tier (At least the ninja has the second one).
Ultimate greninja still lacks a good grab game, but so do Joker, and at least he (Ash's greninja is male) has now a good synergy between ground and air moves, and more options in general which is important (Ask Ike, Piranha plant or Little Mac if you don't believe me).

@@bunabobby No character is perfect. Greninja does NOT have an amazing frame data, he has incredibly low endlag and startup on GROUNDED moves, which allow him to have sick combos. The only usable OoS is the B-air. You know someone has terrible defensive game when his most reliable OoS is jab.

Seeing the absolute madlad-ism of Protean makes me wonder how even more amazing Cinderace can get when he finally receives Libero as an ability. Imagine how lucky Greninja got. It was given a cool design and right off the bat it was put in Smash 4 just off the design alone. But if didn’t fare in battle well, it wouldn’t have gotten as popular. Luckily, it was born a Pokemon with a great design, a great statspread, and a great hidden ability. Then to put the cherry on top, it absolutely shined in the XYZ anime, being both written and animated spectacularly. No wonder it won Pokemon of the year.
Greninja's statspread is that it has good speed and everything else is just mediocre so how is that a great statspread? Also in terms of writing Greninja in the anime has pretty much no personality, is a complete gary stu when it comes to battles and just happens to have a very very rare special ability what turns it into a new form what by a complete coincidence just happens to look like what his current trainer is wearing so not really written well by any means either.

I'd just like to give my personal experience with Greninja despite no one asking. So I missed ALOT of gens of Pokémon cause my family was literally dirt poor. Meaning the only gen I got to play was gen 1. I got to watch some friends play gen 2 but after that, Pokémon was not around for me. Fast forward 20 years and Sun &Moon came out. My fiancé bought it night of release for my birthday. I had to learn alot really fast, but I loved it. Then someone showed me Greninja. And to say that I fell in love with it is an understatement. I found all the anime I missed as a kid and re watched all of it BECAUSE of Greninja lmfao. I loved its design, the typing, the overall feel and playstyle. Greninja became not only my favorite starter, but one of my favorite Pokémon of all time. I sucked at competitive because I was missing like 15 years of experience, but Greninja made fall head first into competitive for the first time ever, and helped me learn a lot about the basics and strats and just how brutal competitive could actually be for Pokémon. I'm still not great by any means, but I can hold my own now.
I miss him, wish he was in gen 8 but it is what it is. I get that he is just as hyped as Charizard popularity wise, but in my opinion, he's better. I'm glad that newer generations has a Pokémon that is what Charizard was for my generation.

I loved using Greninja in gen 6, it was always such a good time. I think any buffs to it for doubles would have negative effects on it for singles. If it gets a defensive buff in doubles, then all the issues it causes in singles are exacerbated. I think greninja allows for such creativity from trainers that people are always gonna try to find a way with it as it is

I typically ran Ash greninja with magnet pull magnazone, and excadrill to answer 90% of ash greninja's counters such as ferrothorn, toxipex, and others
