Did you ever try the S Works Torch Laces? I have wide feet (wear wide in lakes) but running the S-Works Recon laces seem to help a lot with the width of my foot. The Torch laces may be a better option.
@Addict Cyclist I've got the same issue issue. I have the S-Works Ares, and love them, but on 40+ mile rides, that mid-foot outer part of the shoe is far too narrow and I can't wait to take off the shoes. I was hoping these new S-works Torch in a Wide would solve the problem. In one of the videos I saw they said they scanned over 110k feet from Retul. I'm surprised they didn't find more people with this issue or how is it they are using the data gathering. This has to be more a of norm.
You need to try Sidi Shot 2. They have been my best fitting shoe I ever tried! Order from competitive cyclist so you can return with ease if need be! Check out my video library.
You're completely right with the Shimano RC-902 wide. They were more narrow than my Rapha Shoes and I can wear the Raphas only for 60 km max. I'll give the torch a try because I have a wide forefoot and it's very tough to get high end shoes in wide. Thank you for the honest review.
Sorry for all the questions. I've asked Specialized about the width of the Torch - which they don't know... Do you happen to know how they compare to S-Phyre 902/903 in either the normal or wide model?
@@addictcyclist Thanks a lot! I can tell a difference (I think) in both 902 and 903 between normal and wide. I'm using wide in 902 and 903 - it definitely sounds like I should only consider the standard Torch 😄
Good morning! I have been wearing the Fizik Vento Stabilita shoes for the last 6 months. I got on with them great to start, but as of late the lower BOA dial is irritating my foot even when I have not tension on the BOA dial on the lower section. I am thinking on longer rides I may be dealing with some foot swelling and these narrow shoes become to narrow even when loose! Have you ever had issues with a BOA dial irritating your foot while riding? I’m struggling trying to figure out what to do??
Thanks! Have you tried the Ares as well? I'm a little like you in that I feel like I move around in my Lake shoes, but I simply can't figure out Ares or Torch will be a better choice. I've only tried Torch on and they feel super nice. I mainly care about the fit, second about looks etc.

@@larsreichel9700 hahaha gotcha. I didn’t measure the shoes. They are A lot wider then the 7s. Specialized did note the increase in mm with over the 7 on the site.
Hi, Great review. Coyld give the mesurements of your foot , lenght and width with the size you pick in order to have an idea. Indeed, they don’t do large in half size and my lenght is perfect on 8.5. Thks for your advice.
I'm actually looking for a pair myself. Started off with Specialized body geometry shoes good shoes but there were a tad small. Went and tried several others and got hot foot. I heard from several riders that the DMT-KRSL lace ups were super duper comfy so I now have a choice between the newest Specialized Torch or the DMT's. Why does it all have to be so darn expensive though!!! But in the end the saying is very true, "you buy cheap you buy twice". For me a good quality & comfortable cycling shoe is a must as my training rides are quite long...
Great review- The S- works torch isn't available in wide fit here in Europe yet. I have a long history with Specialized Cycling shoes. I absolutely loved the fit and performance of s-works 6 wide, but the wrap around upper on the s-works 7 wide caused so much discomfort of my dorsal tendons, rendering them totally unusable. Specialized get a lot of criticism, but they have totally revolutionised cycling shoe design. It certainly looks like the S-works torch will be a much more comfortable shoe than the 7, as they redesigned/ lowered the position of the top boa .
Once I got my feet in Lake shoes I have not been able to go back to anything else. They have a great 2 year warranty as well. I broken a pair (my fault) and they still agreed to give me full credit for a new pair. Waiting on the new CX302 to come in the mail. If you are not happy with the 241's which have their competition last try the 302, 332, 403 that have the race last. A little less roomy but you can get them in extra wide.
@@addictcyclist If you still have them try slamming the cleats all the way back then move the cleats inward towards the bike which will move the shoe out. A wider stance might help the knee pain. Side note: you might need to adjust saddle height. Great vid btw! Hope you find a shoe that works!
@@svgranger I had the cleats as far back as they go and as far in to push my stance width out. Issue with the 332 sole is the cleats were hanging off the side and were flexing under power and was not allowing the cleat to float freely.
