I thnk you got a little curious/anxious to soon, these 18+ motors can go 100k miles or more before valves even need to be checked and even then they are usually still in spec. Good job though..
Why do you think this is the case? I know a video from a well known Goldwing owner who also does Goldwing repair videos showed that he had one of them that was out of spec. that needed adjusting?
excellent!!!
It looks like you have the Rivco Aeropegs and you have the valve cover off. My Rivco aluminum bolt broke and the stud fell into the valve cover. I can't find a video on how to take the valve cover off. I checked all your video's and the valve cover is already off. Is taking it off as easy as I'm hoping? Thanks
They come off pretty easy if memory serves. Remove those bolts that the rivco screw into, the one that broke on yours. Then remove the coil packs I believe and it should pop off. At least that’s the way I recall it. How did your bolt break? I’ve been hearing some snap on account of the way the pegs bolt on. Thinking I should go to a different style if that is the case!
You will need to remove some cowls too. The plastics!
@@moose3971 I believe mine broke because my torque wrench was inaccurate. But they didn't break at first. I tightened them down and about two minutes later I heard a ping sound and realized the bolts were breaking. I rushed to removed the rest of them before they all broke. I was able to remove the broken studs easily. I didn't realize the upper three bolts are longer than than the bottom three. But other than that it was very easy to to remove and replace. Thanks for replying.
👋 hey , Jay
Hi, moose,
Could you let me know where you ordered the part? Thanks.
