I was incredibly disgusted with the dad, until I realized that he was just continuing the cycle/way he was raised...Jo has an amazing ability at breaking through to people. I hope they are doing well. 💕

Well he should of noticed that treating his own kids the same way he was treated would not end well.... it makes sense to look what happened in your own life and tell yourself that my children are not going to go through the same thing as I did.

She's a professional.
It's her job to deal with kids that act like this, so it's nothing she hasn't had happen to her before. And sometimes not responding to it at all keeps the situation from escalating further, like when the father basically ended up wrestling with his kid trying to get him to calm down.
It feels the Dad has trauma he hasn’t dealt with, and he just shuts off to the world. He needs to fix himself to be able to be the best father he knows he wants to be. Jo is great getting him to realize he needs to open up and get help. Awesome

My tears for Corey are so heavy. Jo is so assertive, yet understanding. The way she helps the parents along with the children just amazes me. I learn something every time I watch her working with families.

The dad teaching his son to ride the bike without training wheels was the highest of highlights for me watching.
When he said “come on Corey! You’re doing- amazing.” He hesitated right before the amazing but then went with it. Made me smile so much because he is breaking the cycle. I hope the best for this beautiful family.

Now consider the poor teacher who has to deal with this behaviour.
It’s very possible they they act completely different at school because their teacher lays down the law. I’m a nanny, and I have had parents say that their kids don’t listen to them but they listen to me. It’s because I lay down the law and the kids know they can’t mess around with me. With the parents, the kids are able to get their way.

I’ve read some comments that said Corey wasn’t depressed and that he just regretted having kids…. you can tell he’s depressed and if you think otherwise, then you truly never dealt with it. Why else would Hunter be saying he didn’t wanna be alive? It’s because Corey has probably said it and the kids heard it. Kids repeat almost everything. That’s the proof that he was really depressed.

Their behavior in school could be very different. Kids are very good at figuring out what behaviors they should use for different adults.
In my experience, they usually behave at school and for others. They pick up on the authority and know they won't get away with it. Anger is different. It is shown more often.

You don't just let this sort of thing become an excuse or enabler for poor behavior. If anything, there's a way to be firm while still seeing these issues for what they are, like saying "I see that you're struggling. I understand how you feel, but you still need to put forth some effort".

I’m less than ten minutes in and I can already see that not only is the father depressed and overwhelmed with work and the difficulties with the kids at home but that the mother is frustrated and insanely overworked with these children. Those together explain the ‘you have it easy’ ‘in what world’ thing that happened in the submission/intro clip from them. Both of these parents have been massively struggling and don’t know how to make it better or what to do because they’re absolutely beyond burnt out. Of course that will cause discourse between parents when they’re dealing with separate rolls and experiencing different reactions to it.
Since I’m under ten minutes in I hope it works relatively smoothly and I wonder if there’s a ‘reconnecting’ series if you will. To see if the family is still doing better years after the original episode was made/aired
work is his choice, he has 2 jobs? He is working so much so he doesn't have to deal with his kids and wife. They don't need the money over the discipline/health of their own kids

He looks to me he has hidden personal issues/past trauma. And yes, it is clear both the parents are not enjoying being parents and are probably regretting it. The thing is, when you have them, you cannot erase them.
I think anyone would regret having these kids. Most kids don't act like that, even with poor parenting.
@@babiesandbuddies It's a mixed bag of emotional issues, probably ADHD, and poor parenting. Lots of kids deal with those things separately but when it's all together they behave like these boys. It's not the kids' fault
I really hope the father gets the help he needs.
He deserves to be happy and have peace when he goes home. He may not be perfect, but at least he hasn’t physically abandoned his family like many men do.

Also parents with boys don't realise they have to get rid of pent up energy. They need regular outside activities.
Our kids are born good, and we make them... evil, indifferent, combative, confrontational, unruly, un-respectful, violent, aggressive, unthankful and we just destroy their goodness???
