Sexual assault and abortion

When a child is conceived through sexual assault, there are three people involved.
The father/rapist, who needs to be punished to the full extent of the law.
The mother/victim, who needs support, love, and healing.
And then the unborn child, who is the innocent bystander.
In these situations, the father - the real criminal - would not get the death penalty for his horrific crime of rape. However, when babies are aborted as a result of rape, the child is given the death penalty for a crime they never committed. Babies should not be punished for the crimes of their fathers.
Abortion is never a conduit of healing - women and children alike deserve better than abortion in every circumstance, including after the traumatic event of rape.
