    Your videos have really opened my mind to the shore fishing opportunities here in Norway. The vast majority of information about fishing here is boat-based, and that's just not an option for me. While I often fish for sea trout in the local area there are times of the year when I want to try something different. I recently started travelling to the outer west coast (Bergen area) and fishing with heavier metals and sandeels. My question is: at what weight rod/lure do you start having to think about shock leaders between the main line braid and the leader? A video on your various spinning combos and knot/line/swivel/snap choices would be really help, if you get time.

    • @Billyfishing_watch
      @Billyfishing_watch  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Joe, I have been thinking of a vid like that for some time now. But in the meantime, a 30/ 60 gram rod with a 15 kg mono rubbing leader of about a meter, would be perfect for the South of Norway. In the south, I have had Pollack up to 6kg and cod to 4 or 5kg. Fish on Brother 👍😁

      Hi Gary, there is not much to it, a smooth steady retrieve, stop now and again, for the halibut, and a more erratic retrieve for cod but stop every now and then so you stay in touch with sea floor, follow the link for the rod and reel setup, thanks Brother 👍😁

      @@Billyfishing_watch I’m not into catching big big trophy fish so much… I love “mixed bag”fishing - catching many species in an outing. I have spoken to some UK anglers and they tell me the southern Norway region is more for that. I also wouldn’t mind to catch a small halibut from a bulkhead or shoreline. I guess I am just picking your brain as to where you fish and what you would suggest based on your experience to throw some baits in the water. Thanks!

      @@Billyfishing_watch You can use a piece of shark belly, or sting ray, or skate, so long as it is white and wriggling, cut like a little surfboard, I use these in Cape Hatteras surf for the smaller cousin of the halibut the flounder, I also use it in Florida waters. I set it up and turn the kids loose walking the surf line where the Osprey dive into the surf and come out with large flounder. A sight to behold. Have fun Love the Videos!!
