As long as I'm out I'm happy enough know matter what I catch. Fished quite a bit Ireland, wexford, Kerry, Shannon etc. I live southeast England so Kent etc most of time

Anther awesome video mate! I wish I could come with you some time, to Norway. Lord knows I could use an old pro to show me the ropes lol. Also... I'm sure this is old news to you, but it might help out some of the newer lads. I always carry a tube of superglue in my fishing gear. Sometimes it can save your day, when they're only eating one particular colour and your bait gets chewed up like yours was, there. Sure, your bait will have some hard /rough spots on it, but who cares, if it can keep you going where otherwise you'd find yourself forced to throw in the towel? That was an awesome fight with that halibut, there. I only get that sort of fight on my hands when my Zander bait gets picked up by a monster river pike. It happens, but it's rare.
Thanks Ramco, as s it goes I use a lot of super glue, for lures and knots. It's always good to have. As far as halibut goes there that hard to find. Just head out to the cost mostly in northern Norway, you can find water, but it needs to be colse to really deep water, 200 to 300 m, and then they come into the shallows to hunt.👍😁

Warm clothing good rod reel etc I used 18lb mono with 80lb shock had no struggle on the 30lb cod from the shore and good bait I used bluey and mackerel in Norway they seem to like the fish baits better in my opinion 😎
At that time of the year in the Arctic circle, it can hit - 12 no problems, good boots not walking one , rubber boots with thick soles and a thermal lining, hand warmers. Go somewhere with lot of different marks, so you can get out of the wind. And you know what gear I use. Tight lines Brother 👍😁

I caught a lot of cod in Sweden when I was there but no halibut. That's a beautiful part of the world in the summer. But I'm a Florida man and it's still too cold. Midsommer's Eve was a great time..

I like the fluorocarbon leaders manly for their abrasion resistance, more so than for being 'sneaky'. I've actually caught pike on my fluoro zander leaders, going as thin as 25/100mm sometimes. Yes, it got scratched up pretty good by its teeth, but it still managed to lift the 80cm pike from the water because I'd forgotten to take my dip net from the car. And I know from experience in my younger days, that even 45/100 nylon mono is no match for a pike. So, yeah... I'm quite sold on the fluoro.
Sure, if I fish baits for halibut I will use fluo, but it's not necessary with lures. Even big cod 10kg + can eat the hooks off 0.80 mono. Thanks brother 👍😁

Fly to Bodø, inside the Arctic circle there are fish everywhere. Stay out by the coast and around the entrances to fjords fishing mainly close to the bottom. Use slow jigs paddle tail jigs, for best results. The rods should be no less than 15/60 gr, heavy rods no less than 50/100gr. And digs between 40/ 100gr. It is not hard to find fish inside the Arctic circle. You just need water between 15 and 30 m deep, with a sandy bottom for halibut and cod .
