It’s not like you are going to catch anything anyway.
😂
Well um... It appears he almost caught something from "the man"
That was hard Beach Bum!!
Oh no you dint!
3B, you might need to go rub some sunscreen on that burn you laid on 2B.
Hard to take a man with a sewn on badge on a 5 dollar shirt real seriously.
It’s called a costume.😂
😂
Mall cop.
I was thinking of taking my nephew there this week. Guess I'll keep fishing on the Okaloosa.
47 years fishing on piers from the Outer Banks to the Gulf. I've never seen a mall cop tell a fisherman they couldn't overhand cast with a plug.
Brad you are a gentleman. You handled it better than I could have.
That's the part of being a professional. I grew up fishon the navarre pier. I've seen plenty of people get hooked that way. The pros always look behind em to make sure no ones around. But... it's a fishing pier. There's danger out there for everyone walking and fishing. And if that guys feathers got ruffled over that he may wanna find a new career. Out there making himself look like a goofball.
I would rather someone overhand cast . Sideways people next to you. If you arnt fishing dont go around people with poles. This whole world just wants to create issues because they don't like somthing . I mean they even have groups of people that particularly are against ski boats and tried to fight against them saying they shouldn't exist. People just need to mind there own business when you don't even need to come near me if you don't like it walk.
Exactly. I've always said it's social media. They rarely say anything in person, but when they get home and on Facebook boy it's on! Lol. Be safe out there man.
Perhaps he should try needlepoint instead 🤣
Agree. Good post. Walkers also have a responsibility to not get in the way of someone about to cast. Everyone just needs to be more aware and courteous of others.
At the pier here in fl where im at you cant over hand when everyone's around. But you can do a decent swing and flick
Pier security was waiting for his chance to puff up , I get the no head casting . People need to realize the hazards of being near people throwing lures or baits from a pier. This is why I bought a boat so I don't have to deal with pierholes all day .
There alot of people who prefer land based like me. Had a boat. Not for me
Horses for courses.
Yeah well goes both ways. Sound like the kid was being a smart ass so what you expect?
People are stupid….. I don’t allow them on my boat….
We are from TN and often fish two or three weeks are year on the Gulf Pier. If there is a NEW rule about NO overhead casting (other than Sabiki) then we will never go back. Either way, the Officer needs to chill out. If a job requires communication skills, they need to be a more selective in who they hire.
However, anyone casting should realize a lot of walkers may have never been on a pier, and the caster should also be responsible enough to look before they cast.
What we didn’t hear was the beginning of the conversation...someone said something that ticked off the officer and then it was all downhill from there. He clearly said “someone got hit” so obviously there was an issue to which he was responding, and then he caught some attitude from someone and boom goes the dynamite. I mean, it didn’t stop Brad from casting overhand...lmao
@@clarkallen4541 I don’t believe that, I highly doubt anyone got hit, may have been a close call, but that many people around them and Knowone saw or herd anyone getting hit…Sometimes the person casting will feel it when u accidentally hit someone casting…. I think someone was being a Karan just wanted to bitch about something…🤔🤷♂️
@@clarkallen4541 the officer actually said some told him that he. “Like to have got hit” means he could have or almost got hit. In other words he was gripping to the officers about something that had not even happened
I guess, the "pedestrians" should only be allowed on the first section of the pier past the office and fisherman past that. That officer was certainly a hot head. Fishing and elevated stress don't go together.
There's a pier in Sandbridge, VA that's kinda like that. There's a white line towards the end, and those who aren't fishing aren't allowed past it.
i think the officer/park turd has a nasty attitude because he recently found out his grand daddy is his daddy.
I’ve never considered myself a rocket scientist but seems like a side cast would be more dangerous than a overhead cast on a crowded pier. Just my opinion…..
Definitely a side cast on the pier just doesn't make sense
I always warn people when I am about to cast. It’s responsible and far better than causing someone terrible injury.
@@Frank-il3kt yea or i just look back to make sure no one is in the way
Another Park Ranger who thinks it's ok to talk to people disrespectfully because he wears a uniform.
This is a prime example of why I fish Florida piers now although ima be at gulf shores pier sometime next week only casting over hand as dramatically as possible just in spite
Should have asked the guy .."so we cant cast our fishing poles at the fishing pier?" Hate stuff like that
The only written rule for casting on Gulf Shores Pier applies to Sabiki rigs. In this case I'd have asked to see the rule the officer was referring to. There is nothing prohibiting overhand casting of lures or bait on this pier.
Yeah that's what i read on the website
So the only rule on that pier is no overhand casting sabiki rigs and like an added written in request to not overhand cast gotcha plugs. Its a fishing pier. The ones who are fishing pay more then the ones who just use it for sight seeing. Perfect example of who do you want to accommodate, the person spending $10 or the person spending $2. More then likely the person complaining is on vacation, and wont be back any time soon, so the options are tell the sightseers hey youre on a fishing pier you have to watch out, or threaten to kick out the people who spend more money, multiple times a week there. Security guy just wants to pat his ego, and didnt really think his actions out. He just seen an opportunity to go flex and look important. If guys like him continue to behave like that, all its going to do is drive the fishermen, who spend more money there, to somewhere else. Its bad enough they are dragging their feet fixing the pier. Alabama is having a really hard time finding a balance of supporting tourism and supporting the locals who live there. Continue to mistreat the locals and soon there are no locals, no one to run the tourism no one to keep places open in the "off season"
The cop or whoever he was was very unprofessional !!! Questioning his authority was something he was not having . Honestly he gives other people in the profession a bad name !!!! I would consult with the operators of the pier about said rule !!! Just looked up the rules . Rule # 8 states under hand casting only on sabaki rigs only .!!!! Oh I'm in Ms. and am thinking about visiting the area ...
The "Maul Patrol" makes me think of the episode of South Park - Cartman, Respect My Authoritah !
I guess if you side- arm cast it's safer!??? Overhand you can potentially hook one person, side-arm you can hook three people and f*#k up everybody's fishing! What a dumbass rule!
There is no law that says you can’t overhand cast… Yup, the Google confirmed it. 🔥🤣🥜
I would ask to see that rule in writing. Your on a fishing pier. How are you supposed to get your line out to fish? That is a Ranger that's just over stepping his authority.
every pier i've ever fished at had numerous signs that say no overhead casting. that said, if it's not posted and not part of the fish and game law for that state, go for it.
Just looked up the rules the only thing it says about casting is that sabiki style rigs must be cast under hand.
Pretty unprofessional Warden got upset quick. I'll stick to the Florida piers where we can actually fish
My guess, he couldn't read well enough to get on a city police force, so he became a Park Ranger...people have to pay attention to what they are doing, whatever it is.
Actually low IQ is required to be a cop
Yeah he definitely filled interpersonal skills one and two in the academy and got kicked out. Now he is an angry grass cop.
The cops are always riled up over there during the summer time. Especially if you're an out of towner, they make a lot of money on nitpicky citations.
He was "Security" the badge was a color print on his shirt and his shirt said Security. Pompous ass for sure his ego was way out on his sleeve.

You’re right
Down here we call them ‘Saturday night heroes’
Boy, who was that Park Ranger? Maybe Karen’s brother, Barney? You know some folks let power go to their heads. All he had to say was what the complaint was about and to tell you all the best way to comply. To me it looked like he wanted to send someone off the pier just to show everyone how powerful he is.
More fishing rules !!! 6000 Miles of beaches but they want to come to the Fishing Pier an complaint about casting 🤷
The guy was a bit of a jackass and needs to hone his people skills. Its a fishing pier, you need to let people fish and stay out of their way. In 55 tears of fishing, I have never heard of a no overhand casting rule from a pier anywhere. I would look at the posted rules for the pier, if it don't say no overhead casting, then its allowed.
It's allowed. I think there is something in the rules that says no to cast a sabiki rig overhead, but nobody he was talking to was using a sabiki.
The GW should have shown yall what is allowed for casting like do a display couldve educated many and prevented the so called problems he has
That would have been too easy for him. He got all dramatic and started flexing on. He made himself look like a 🤡
How dare yall over hand cast on a fishing pier lol 😆 wow that cop needs some CBD send him a link, nice fishing guys🤙
It's a fishing pier!!!! Not a good show of law enforcement professionalism!!!!
Never understand why people get so worked up. It’s a fishing pier. If you’re not smart enough to watch out for people fishing while out there, don’t go out there. This whole world is gonna be bubble wrapped before long to protect the ignorant.
Damn shark ate your swimsuit? Lol
If that guy was a Park Ranger they’ve lowered the standards!
The text said a shark ate your “swimsuit”!
Not only have I ever heard of an "overhand cast rule", I have never even heard of someone complaining about it, ever!!!
fish on California pier's.. when I was there you could not overhead cast...
@@timschuller3647 Well another form of Tyranny by California. Come down to the Texas Gulf Coast and you will not have to worry about that.
@@ericolsen9799 YES on the way.. but seriously was in Panama city Beach 2 weeks ago and fished the pier there with my 2 granddaughters tarpon were running. Plenty of overhand/head casting and no fatalities. Common sense is not so common anymore. Courtesy is not found many places but saw it there when I was at 2 piers with the grandkids.
I will take you up on the offer to come fish, I don't get to fish often in saltwater , I live in Indiana. :)
Love watching Brad and all the guys banter back and forth and especially when Brant get's his.. GO BRAD!! Thanks from Indiana, Tim
I have fished quite a few piers in California when we would go for vacation and a bunch of them had signs that said "no overhand casting" being from Wyoming I was shocked at how many stupid rules there were on the piers there. In Texas the piers were freaking amazing and seemed to only have rules that made sense.
Bro it's California, the worst state in the US lol 😆
Well, it is California I guess. I have never fished in that state and don't plan to.
I'm from California but live in Texas now the only reason they have that stupid rule is because of tourists they would walk right behind people fishing and not look to see what's going on around them and get hooked.
They made sense because it's Texas and not California where most people don't know how to think for themselves. Hu.
Guy has a "WE THE PEOPLE" tattoo acting like a tyrant who wants to boss everyone around, he is a disgrace to the CONSTITUTION. Fishing is a human right, in any form.
I would report that guy to his superiors. Show them this video. We don’t need anybody working for the state that acts like that. He’s choosing to bully people about giving them his attention. Give him a healthy dose of his own medicine and let’s see how he likes it. Report him.
Get his name make a complaint with his Boss every one has one. Make it sticky for little man big ego.
I love the pier fishing vids, but the more I watch them, the more I think it’s not worth it. The elbow-to-elbow crowds, the constant need to run around, under, and over people, and the danger of catching an errant hook make it an unattractive proposition. I know you have the chance to hook fish you never could from the beach, but then when you do, getting them up to the pier is a chore. Plus, you must lose a mint in broken off tackle.
thanks again for the great video. Brad haters will hate. Keep living the good life. God Bless and stay safe
It’s legal to defend yourself using whatever force needed from illegal arrest.
That cop needs to have the We The People removed from his arm, because he's a Tyrant not The People.
Sadly, you have people in professional Law enforcement who think they are above everyone else. Someone should teach him how to communicate with people. That was BAD, he got a F for stupid being social STUPID. Great Video
Pier fishing just plain sucks ! Too many lost fish and too many idiots
This tyrant has a We The People tattoo on his arm but acts like this???????
WTF thats the dumbest rule. I can't wait till I get down there. I'm going to overhand cast, I always cast over my head.
No overhand casting , ?????? WHAT!!!!!
Great video Brad! Really enjoy the content you're putting out buddy.
Pier security, basically a mall cop without a food court so that's why he's mad, no Orange Julius.
The Ranger needs to understand that he's a public servant. No need for him to get bent and act like an ass. If he can't deal with the public he needs another profession
He just earned the nickname “ deputy dawg”!
No matter what reaction the people on the pier had, that does not allow the ranger to speak in a degrading, or demoralizing tone. My guess is this is his SOP. I'll bet he speaks to his wife and kids like that. You should have taken his name and badge number and filed a formal complaint with the FWC. Have them do a background check on him. At the very least it will be a report filed on him...if he gets enough, maybe they will promote him.
From the several videos I've seen coming from 'Bama you have some real jag off cops. I mean some real good old boy nazis. I live in Corpus Christi and NO one has complained yet about casting from a pier. And we get nuts to butts on some of these piers. Oh well. Tight lines !!
The only rule I've seen about casting on the GSP pier concerns sabiki rigs. They have to be casted underhand
It’s a fishing pier. People are going to overhand cast. I’m sure it wasn’t a fisherman who complained
was that even a real cop? his shirt said "security." either way, prime example of people who should not be in positions of authority because they let their egos get in the way.
The best reaction would be. We The People don't agree with you...
😂
over reacting on the ranger part.
That guy was power trippin'. I don't think they have the power to do that.
I would challenge that rule, that guy seemed a little special
God bless everyone.
So you went to the pier the same day Karen did.. LMAO
No casting.... LoL 😂 No farting, no breathing , no smiling...etc. Tell that pork belly to kick Rocks.
Next you will be told you cannot have fishing lines on your rods. What a damn joke that is, and that kind of bs wouldn't go down well where I'm from as everyone does look before casting and you're on a pier for crying out loud. Even the onlookers stay away from the rods and everyone is respectful of each other, I've even had some great conversations with the predestines at times.
This all boils down to some Karen complained and ruining it for the rest.
Well I’ll scratch going to the pier off my list. I’m retired law enforcement and probably would have crawled his ass for talking to the public like that. His supervisor needs to see this so he can get his attitude adjusted. Is there signage stating no over hand casting?
Tell steroids he is wrong and go eat a biscuit
Use him as bait
that dude was getting bowed up because your buddy said those people complaining should leave? that tells me all i need to know. unless they have a rule printed about not casting, i'd tell ol' boy to go kick rocks.
Bebo and Brayden!!! Park Ranger mad because he can’t overhand cast, you wrong for that 😂
Robyn said, How are you supposed to cast? 🤷🏻♂️😂
I'm looking at the rules as I'm watching this video
THERE IS NO RULE STATING YOU CANNOT OVERHAND CAST.
IF IT DOESN'T SAY IT AND IT'S NOT POSTED, YOU CAN DO IT
Ok, scratch the pier fishing in Gulf Shores. The most asinine rules north of the equator. I was there opening day Brad. You were kinda young then. From that time, the pier systematically dismantled the whole purpose of having a fishing pier. Tourism is one thing. Redefining the pier to attract shark watchers is another. The Ranger was clearly confrontational. Personally, I would boycott the blasted pier. Perhaps that would give the controllers reason to rethink their dumbass ideas.
Park Rangers........... more than half I've ever dealt with are like this guy. Seems like any time they are questioned they'll threaten you or just flat out boot you off "their" property........
Wanna bet that guy was a ZERO TOLERANCE FOR SHENANIGANS hall monitor or crossing guard when he was younger?
LOL, tats and a uniform don't make him any taller!
If I operated that pier and saw this video, that slack-jawed "security" guard would be schooled quickly on the priorities of a FISHING pier!
If it didn't sink in I'd toss his butt off the property with his last paycheck right behind him!
Makes me appreciate living in Saskatchewan, the land of 97,000 lakes. Theres days I go fishing & dont see a soul.
Wife's 60th late September. Sister put in for Tennessee LSU tickets, but don't know if or how many she'll get. (Oct 8th). Thinking maybe couple days Pensacola/Gulf Shores area on way one or back. Target species early fall?
Your tranny went out? Waiting for parts? My Ford is waiting for a 'part' covered by warranty.....minimum 6-week delay. Issue? Computer chips.
Did anyone file a complaint on that park ranger for his rude and unprofessional demeanor and actions? His complete disdain for the public whom pay his paycheck!!! Absolutely unacceptable behavior from him!!!
Somebody complaining about people casting on a fishing pier is like sitting in a smoking area and complaining about smoke.
How about you say ,Hey folks could you please be careful when casting , Some people just don't pay Attention to what's going on around them. I've had people walk right up behind me with their children, after I catch a fish ,while Fly fishing.
Some people just don't get it. Good thing the pier Police didn't show up.
Lol
BB , hateful people are always around the corner, he could be a little more tactful but didn’t have it in him. A few bad reviews could hurt the pier if they aren’t careful.
That Park Ranger dude should have simply warned them, with good behavior instead of being a jerk. Yeah overhead casting can be dangerous around people for sure...but not against the law. Many more Karens from Kalifornie are coming around the South to "enforce" their laws against us. It's just a matter of time now.
Dang ! Country chad, take it easy! Jeez go easy on the boys! Maybe run a lap while your at it!!! Just sayin! 😂🤙
I’ve never been to a pier or fished in the ocean. That was crazy stuff. All that running around and squeezing in. I assume you know those people? Is that it’s like pier fishing? Damn
The fish and wildlife dude was a prick. He needs training to properly communicate with the public. Afterall that's the great majority of his job.
I look behind me when I am casting on the beach, with nobody around....just my wife.......ugh.
Guess you should fish somewhere where you can cast,it's the only way to fish.if u drop straight down you'll get tangled up real quick.and I wouldn't fish anyplace where I have to break big jigs off in any kind of fishes mouth.thats a real goofy and harebrained rule.
The guy lied, Florida State law says that fisherman are not to be prohibited from fishing. You are casting which is fishing. All that guy can do is check your license. He can not keep you from casting. It is against the law to do so.
I. Have. Fish. Pier in gulf shores for years people. Don't. Like go pro UA-cam letting people no what going on at pier people catching kings or Reds or Jack's and putting it on UA-cam and here comes all people that. Bottom line
Should more so be a rule not to fish so damn close to eachother than not overhand …….like ffs…..when places start to dictate how you can actually cast etc that’s when you avoid that area and go beach cast….can catch just as many fish if you get a nice surf rod to cast way out …I’d probably hook somebody more so if I did a side cast because that goes to one person or another ….but again distance is key and not being all up each-others cracks… p.s they should learn to make slightly wider piers as well jfs …😂👍
So now the grass cops run the pier? He is just pissed he failed out of every law enforcement academy in the country and had to go the grass cops route. This guy is a perfect example of what is wrong with our government. Over it! And that is coming from retired law enforcement.
No way in hell I would fish that close to anybody with those hooks... I peer fish all the time on lake Michigan but we don't get that close to each other that's the stupid... Nothing personal bro... Those people all the time walking behind me and I tell him they're going to get hooked... Just saying.. catch one for me bro...
Typical rule in lots of Calif piers has been for 30 years have had to underhand cast just practice and it will work, I know it sucks but that's what happens when you have cry baby's they screw it up for everyone!
Sounds like that rule was made to protect the pier from being sued the park cop could have been nicer
Wow… That Barney sure had an attitude! McDonalds not hiring?
Actually, it’s best to follow rules (If they are even known) so as not to accidentally hook a goober on a back cast. Y’all still were casting overhead after he left… Good thing he didn’t put his knee on your neck!
Interesting content!
Derp...!!!
There is not a rule against it at this pier.
Theres too many people on the pier for overhand casting..... people usually dont look behind to cast..... got to do underhand casting to be safe.
no matter the size of shit your in I don't care how big or small.. When dealing with wildlife management officers park rangers fish and game. just comply with what they are telling you Not for your benefit. theirs
it seems like he was just trying to do his due diligence and address the complaint, but understood it was absurd. because of his position, he had to communicate, and that's all he was trying to do. "I'm jus' tellin' y'all." He was just getting frustrated with the situation. i doubt he gets joy or feels dutiful in addressing pier complaints
He said “you’re mouth got me that way”. Sounded to me like the officer was probably cordial at first until someone started back talking. Where is the first part of the interaction?
I have fished on piers before and the biggest problem was a loud mouthed boy. And it gets crazy on a pier and the rudest people are the ones that hang on to a big fish they think everyone should get out of their way while they fight the fish. And that ain't right, no courtesy. Yes they only paid 2 dollars to look or walk down the pier but they have a right that you are trying to suppress. What gives you the right to tell them to move, nothing. You don't own the pier you just rent a spot on the pier. And the Officer was trying to do his job but the loud mouthed boy turned it in to a confrontation, no respect he should have kicked him off the pier but he didn't which shows his restraint. When a fisherman snags a fish he thinks he owns the pier and is usually the most arrogant person on the pier. As for as casting the fisherman and the bystanders have equal responsibility to make sure they don't get hooked or don't hook someone. And I am sure a lot of disabled and older people want to walk out and look. So make those dumb ass boys keep their mouth shut and things will be smoother. I am a subscriber and I love your videos but there has to be a happy medium between the fisherman and the walkers. I don't expect you to respond, you never do.
If you don't have enough sense to keep clear of multiple people slinging lures and shit you don't need to be out there
This overhead casting happens all the time in PACIFICA CA PIER and no Park Rangers are in sight? And I see a whole lot of Asians crabbing and NOT following the size rules. Just awful !
