Awesome! Couldn't you have done it all with Ai? Just place texture and add transparency or no?

yes you are right! You can add the texture in illustrator as well! I sometimes prefer Photoshop because there are more possibilities to play around with the textures and the colors! But if you already know exactly what kind of image you want to create, you can definetely work with Illustartor as well.
