During architecture school, such classes/tutorials sounded very important. But who is the target audience for such tutorials? As an architecture student, it was important to have amazing visuals; have an amazing portfolio, etc. But after working as an architect for several years, I have seen many architecture firms that only require architects who can produce black and white detailed working drawings and perhaps also manage the project, during the construction phases. It is a job full of knowing building regulations, sustainable aspects, environmental design, and working within a budget. Hence, I always wonder if this is for working architects, which architecture firms actually require you to use amazing Photoshop skills; or what position in an architecture firm requires photoshop usage regularly? We spent so many nights producing amazing-looking drawings at university, but when you start actually working, neither the local authority nor the engineers nor the client wants to receive bulky files of lovely images, nor videos. Yes, even the clients sometimes do not want to pay extra for photorealistic renders and videos. Is it something for: the grand architecture firms; for certain countries; for firms working on specific typologies; or for firms that do a lot of competitions? I would love to do more of this, but in my working experience, at best we find clients who require photorealistic renders of their projects. Am I missing something? Do architects make a normal set of drawings for the engineers and for construction, and then create another set of drawings with amazing visuals?
Mostly for students I think and there are some firms that hire a 3D artist just like draftsman but for me As a graduated interior designer with not that artistic portfolio no matter where I apply or how much great ideas actually my designs contain I have never got a chance for a real job, I thought that this might be the case so I started improving my skills in visualization hoping to get the chance to be seen
As an architect i must say this is useless, authorities do not want photoshop drawings, customers do not want to pay extra work in photoshop, they rather want 3D visuals if paying extra money and city planners already do know these techniques.... But seems YT starting to be full of these tutorials from people who had seen this kind of job only from "the train".....
Architecture should solve porblems, creating stunning visuals can be useful for particular projects...I would say this video will help people to have great photoshop skill and how to use different techniques in order to create nice visuals, but when it comes to Art I think people should sketch and develop ideas which can solve problems, but the video emaphasize on the usage of tools and technique.
Que bien que tenga subtitulos, ayudan mucho a los estudiantes de arquitectura de paises hipanohablantes. Gracias por el contenido, saludos desde la UGC
this is a really great video for creating a cool masterplan!!! just one question here, for creating the grass gradient, would it make any diference if we assign 'pattern' directly on each contour region and give each a different opacity? thanks in advance for any help!
that would be a great idea! I think it would still work. Maybe if this is a high res texture you would just want to be careful that there is continuity in the grass texture. But go for it!
I'm pretty sure its just patterns like what he did with the grass texture. Just add the patterns, then maybe drop shadows, interior shadows, the highlights and etc.
wait wait, how did you give white lines for grass texture, it was black then out of nowhere its while lines, then how did you place trees and put that white color plan of trees on top of plant, can you explain it?
How do you proceed, if you want to make a 3d sketch out of this ? I mean the house and the trees, so that you can print a Presentaion board and view the site from different angles?
well this is specifically geared towards showing a site plan, assuming the 3d model from the rest is shown in other ways. It's not meant to change the angle or serve as a realistic render. If you wanted to do that, then it would be best to render this and do all of this in a render engine
Hey, why not just enable 'All layers' option and directly use paint bucket tool instead of using magic wand everytime while filling the grass into the contours
Does anyone know how to import all the layers from autocad in pdf in photoshop retaining the actual size? Somehow when I import the layers ( For example, trees, roads , plaza, etc.) to photoshop, it only shows the elements without showing the whole page that i exported (A2). Very frustrating :/
I have had issues with importing a PDF and not all of the lines importing... the fix has been to either try a different plotter or export the PDF to an image and importing that instead
As an architect i can't imagine use this into my projects. Building authorities would throw me away from their office with this kind of plans as they are requiring black and white situation plans with water/electricity etc. networks and some special borders coloured, while customers mostly does not matter on detailed floor plans and situations like this, more important for customer is vizualization itself. I may render awesome 3D orthographic plans by few clicks from 3D model without spending time in photoshop. For most of architectural jobs this is useless, and those few city planners already has similar techniques......
Sorry Yasmin, we invest a lot of time into creating these courses and it is a bit difficult to make them free. That is why we try to create and give a lot of free content through our social media, so everyone can learn! But stay tuned for discount dates where students have a special discount :)
dude first of all your description says something and at the beginning of the video you say something completly different first of all. I suggest in the future to start talking exacly about what you write down in your video title, and also if you do informational video try to put chapters, because you might waste the viewers time otherwise, as you wasted mine. I read your title and i tought i found what i was looking for but no. I don t intend to hate, I don t say your content is bad, just care more about what I said. I typed this comm because I was really angry because I found out after 7 minutes of video that i wasted my time.
The variation in opacity of the grass texture 🤌🏽 10/10
Yes! It’s a very simple but effective option 🤘🏼
As an Architecture student, this helps a lot with my presentation! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Can i mention this in reddit?

@@Thomeeno Exactly my experience, too: neither authorities nor clients really want them, unless you are adding them in your spare time, for free.
Just love your works, motivates me to achieve more. Keep educating Love from India❤️
thanks Adarsh! I appreciate it!
thank you man, I am a practicing architect from Bangladesh, learnt so much from your videos. really appreciate the effort.

Really needed this! Awesome work as always
OMG it's super helpful!
Glad you think so!
OMG Duc Phuc , i like your cover version. Love it !
Loved your water texture, perhaps adding some shore line similar to the gravel pathway there would be interesting to see.
Great idea!
This is so amazing. Helped me a lot!
Very nice textures and shading. I like Lumions orthographic feature for these kind of renderings.
your comment is very good

Cảm ơn cô Mây, rất tuyệt vời
WOW impressive ! can i know where did you get your trees models ? thanks for this video !
I'm pretty sure its just patterns like what he did with the grass texture. Just add the patterns, then maybe drop shadows, interior shadows, the highlights and etc.
Excelent! How do you create that nice dirt road? Thank you
You are perfect 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
not even close but thanks! haha
Muchas gracias mi loco! Te re compraría el curso porque me intereso mucho, pero soy de argentina y esta complicado el tema del dólar 😔
Can we send you a sample of our Works and you critique them? If so where and would you do a video critiquing viewers concepts?
The grass texture looks huge and it would be great to see a transition from the land to the water.
My 40 - 45% scale makes the pattern look with multiply layers of pattern on it? how do I fix this, I followed your instruction
how did you make the lines white?
Hello, how do you do trees? Much thanks for reply.
thunk you
Looks great as a final product, but what about making changes to the design or being fed a new updated plan/design that needs to be done quickly?
wait wait, how did you give white lines for grass texture, it was black then out of nowhere its while lines, then how did you place trees and put that white color plan of trees on top of plant, can you explain it?
Did you open your illustrator file in Photoshop or export then import?
How did you invert colour of the black lines to white ?
ctrl + i :)
How do you proceed, if you want to make a 3d sketch out of this ? I mean the house and the trees, so that you can print a Presentaion board and view the site from different angles?

How did u turn the contour lines white of
Usually the sea gets lighter in colour towards the shore line. Great video though.
completely right! Thanks for the info !
Hey, why not just enable 'All layers' option and directly use paint bucket tool instead of using magic wand everytime while filling the grass into the contours
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Which brushes did you use from the resourses link?
they are a special set that comes with the course, but not sold separately :)
I really need to know how to make that contour line map
It really depends on the project! In this case the info was provided by the geographers
¿El curso también se encuentra en español o solo mediante subtítulos
Hola Felipe! Lo puedes encontrar en español aqui courses.showitbetter.co/p/site-plans-in-photoshop1
Can I have a brush sample please?

Great! How is the google earth image set on grassland only and not the water area? Just by using it as overlay?
you can use the laso tool to just apply it to the grass land
Can annother colour be used other than white for overlay
of course!
can you make a detail video of this video.........i cant understand some parts of this video
As an architect i can't imagine use this into my projects. How do you png the plan?
Hi, Can i have this file for practice?
sorry! this file is under copyright laws and I can't share it!
How i can creat a site plan?
how did you add that white lines ???
I inverted the PDF file, just press CTRL + I
Sir what version of photoshop is this?
it's the latest version :)
Hi! how did you make the contour lines white?
ctrl I Invert!
Whenever I get to setting the pattern overlay, it always makes the pattern gray, no matter what pattern I use
that's weird!
❤️ # Bangladesh
👍
😃😃😃
My god such a handsome man 🙈💔
can you make the courses free?

can you show how the contour lines become white?
Clic on the layer (curves or contours) and select invert color
the grass textures are not free
Lets go..... :-)
You don't even mention landscape architecture bro
What do you mean specifically? It is a video on a representation technique but not so much on how to design landscape architecture 🙂

thank youu so much! very helpful
How did you changed the colour of contour lines from black to white
Thank you so much.
