This is just another case of the government making demands through regulations and mandates that have created cars that are less safe and less reliable due to all the electronics and components that must be built overseas to keep the price down to what the customer demands. The government needs to be forced to prioritize safety over fuel mileage. They could build cars with a lot less options just by making them full framed out of heavier metal . They could even put a roll cage in it much like nascar. If they were built closer to NASCAR specs you could have accidents at 80 mi an hour and likely walk away just like they do in their vehicles over a hundred and twenty miles an hour after hitting a wall. I had a bronco that we used to have to take it through emissions and it would pass with just catalytic converters. All the rest of the stuff had been removed. The EPA and other government entities must be shut down for moving the goalposts every time their goal is achieved. When manufacturers meet the mandates the EPA would be out of a job if they didn't change them. If we want safer and more affordable vehicles we must get rid of the cafe standards.

True which is causing manufacturers to use tiny engines with turbo chargers to haul 4k+ pound SUV's. Sure they might be more fuel efficient but they won't be able to get up to speed as quickly especially when there is cargo. I thought naturally aspirated engines are better than turbo chargers especially considering that a vehicle with a turbo charger is just another thing that can go wrong and can easily shred your engine when it does.

Yes, we could have very reliable engines with moderately low emissions but they keep pushing EV based on trends and bad advice from environmental enthusiasts. They are actively trying to push great gas engines that could last well over a decade out of the marketplace. We should strive for reliable efficient engines so we waste less automobiles which would be less pollution overall while being cost effective.

Spray it every year with Krown Oil for rust & corrosion. No rust or holes on this truck. NEVER had any issues with the truck or the 4x4 system that has the 5.3 liter Vortec. Watched your channel for years and followed your professional advice. Has original exhaust, starter and alternator. All maintenance done at the stealership for the first 16 years that was recommended by GM. Oil changed EVERY 5K. It didn't matter if I was in Florida or Newfoundland, I would visit a GM dealership and do the service. Wear and tear parts obviously addressed. Guess this one was not made on a Monday or Friday😂. Chrysler 300 every light comes on just for fun because the electric issues are so bad. Random lights go on and off, blinker doesn't work when lights are on, but work when lights are off, causing you to have to use hand signals only at night when nobody can see them. Left blinker works intermittently, fog lights dont work regardless of bulbs. Interior shifter lights only come on when you punch it. If you make a left turn with the blinker on, when it rolls back to center and turns the blinker off, your ABS, Traction ETS, and big red BRAKE light comes on. Good times....

They've been around a long time. The problem is they're putting them in larger vehicles. They used to be in small light vehicles where they were adequate.

I'll say this, it's been 4 years since the shut downs and we still have trouble getting people to work at my plant. In the wake of the shutdowns we had to bring in a temp service that had to start looking outside the country for workers (we are in the US). People from South and Central America as well as Mexico started to become a large part of our workforce. We still have a lot of those temps left, but not quite as much as before. I know for fact at least one other employer in my town had to do something similar, I think they took in refugees but I don't recall from where. They even hung up signs saying "welcome" for the people coming to work for them. I have no doubt a lot of others have this same problem. It could be coincidence that this is how it has been since the shutdowns. I feel like it at least played a role.

On a Honda,if that rubber tit on the brake pedal decomposes and your brake lights stay on,they could melt the taillights, and even worse - that little gap allows brake fluid to return to the master cylinder-
    OR
The calipers and wheel cylinders will stay under pressure. They will build up so much heat the fluid will boil and expand, locking up the brakes. That tit is available from Dorman.
    Recalled from experience.

Pretty disappointed with the Japanese as of late. For decades I have always consider Japanese products the cream of the crop. Anything Japanese was top notch in quality and reliability. The first time I noticed otherwise was the Nuclear plant situation following the Tsunami and then their irresponsibility of discharging contaminated water into the ocean against the outcry of neighboring countries. Then cheating on their cars' safety reports, like what was reported here. Then unable to complete the high speed rail for India running into overbudget. Then the bridge is Vietnam failing due to cost cutting. I don't know what it is but Honda and Toyota are still my fav. car companies and I'm still seriously considering a Corolla very soon. I hope they run as well as my '94 model which I had for 14 years at one time.

9 times out of 10, stalling at a stoplight is due to a sticky IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. The pintle gets dirty and sticks. You can pop it out and clean it, or just go ahead and replace it, They're usually cheap, and usually easy to get to.

Oversight doesn't fix these problems with auto makers or bankers. What fixes these problems is customer wrath, without "government overseers" shielding them from the market and from any real consequences. Fines are basically just bribes to the government to continue doing the same crap they were doing, before. Fines are just a cost of doing business that is passed on to a captive consumer. Without government "oversight," a lot of companies would've gone broke a long time ago.
