I love the cosmopolitan buffet where my husband prefers paris because you don't have to wait in line bit he does like Cosmo and the one in ari. The beat cheap one I like with my friend who lives there including my hubby and his family love it too is in green valley ranch the hard rock hotel has it. The m hotel has a goof buffet for a good price. I prefer fine restaurant in Vegas but I do enjoy buffet here and there. The pricey one you tried for buffet I have been there twice and didn't care for it as Cosmo does it better.
Buffets are not what they used to be in Vegas, they focus more on the restaurants now. But Baccahnal is one of the better ones. The brunch buffet at the Bellagio is also my favorite. You should have gone earlier to the expensive buffet to better experience it and have more time to try different things and be able to enjoy it for hours.
When you know you're still eating a buffet after that, you might want to limit your calorie intake to a moderation and have a balanced plate of carbs, protein and vegs like he did.

No bread, soup, or pasta either. I also watch what desserts I eat unless there is chocolate involved. High food cost items and away you go. For me no soda pop either. Just a sip of water and back to the crab, shrimp (lobster), prime rib, etc.
I went to Vegas in 1977. The Mob was still running the city. As a broke college guy the buffet for $1.95 was what I needed. $10.00 today would be cheap.
Personally I think that you made a mistake, do the buffets on different days, and turn up to the more expensive, maybe 2 hrs after it starts, thus ensuring that it is fresher, not leftovers!
It would have been a much more fair comparison to do both buffets at the same time on different says. Like, 7pm on a Friday and 7pm on a Saturday. At the first buffet, it looked like they were there pre-dinner rush, which isn't very nice. At the second buffet, it was right before closing which also isn't great.
I worked at that cheap buffet when you guy's were taping. Now that I don't work there, let me confirm almost everything you said about it. I did my best to make things as good as possible, but too much of it was boxed stuff. I can say one thing about it though: there are absolutely no microwaves on the property (except in the employee dining room), so everything had to be cooked to be like that.
'97, first trip to Vegas. Breakfast buffet at Excalibur was $3.99, the line to it was half a city block long, piles of overcooked bacon and scrambled eggs, can't remember what else was there.
Their main reason was to do a video / work and food is not their priority. Besides they have already make back way more than they spend on the 2 restaurants.

I checked into the El Cortez yesterday and I tried the “$20 sandwich” trick...EPIC FAIL. I asked for a complimentary upgrade while slipping the receptionist a $20 bill and she said “we cannot upgrade for 5 nights” and handed me back the money. I was OK with that, but then she put me in a crappy section of the hotel right above the parking garage, with a run-down room that smelled like a dead skunk. Now I’m angry and I will switch rooms today. Should I try the sandwich trick again?
Use Groupon!! We just spent the weekend in Vegas and used groupon for our shows and food. Most of the discounts are 50% off. This buffet was $110 for two, including well drinks or beer👍 In addition we did not have to wait in line.
This was a buffet review for 7 year-olds. Who doesn't know how to break crab legs in two with their hands and he got pizza, AGAIN?! This drove me nuts.
I agree , it looks like the expensive buffet at Cesars was about $70 per head and I don't think they got their money's worth based on their limited trips to the buffet. Pizza would be the last thing I would want to eat because it just fills you up and leaves less room for the good stuff such as prime rib.
I would say the medium priced buffets are the place to be. The Wynn dinner buffet is like $39 and you get good quality food and at a reasonable price, $39 is what you would spend on a restaurant meal anyway. The $10 is good if you just want a lot of food and don't care about the quality because it doesn't look that great.
In the 60s we had 99 cent all you can eat and we were young and could eat endlessly. Of course 99 cents was a lot of money when you didn't have any money.

The cheap buffet looked soooo unappetizing. But there's also no way I could eat $70 worth of food! When I went to Vegas I was all about the Earl of Sandwich. Best place on the strip for a (relatively) cheap and healthy meal.
Hands down, BACCHANAL is my favourite buffet experience. Ever. Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Yes. I found their brunch buffet with bottomless mimosa was the best value ;)

Buffets mostly close at 8 or 9pm. Many times you have a life and can't get there till earlier. If you have a 2-1 coupon you will still have time to get 2-3 plates of food and desert, just know the servers are looking to leave so aren't going to be getting you 5-6 drinks at that hour. Definitely don't go to a buffet that cost more then $20 if your that close to closing time, if you go you should get there when it opens and bring a book.
Amazing video! I'm definitely trying the Buffett at Caesers when I go to Vegas in 2020. I have no idea how you two managed to eat at 2 buffets in one day. Also incredible camera work and editing. Be sure to check out either Groupon for a Caesars buffet deal OR make sure to check out Dine Card from Tix4Tonight Booths on the strip. If you will be there for a few days and eating at couple buffets you will no doubt save with that. The Buffet at Aria is excellent. A nice middle ground between Arizona Charlie's and Bacchanal. The Bellagio is pretty good, but the space is not inviting and totally detracts from the experience.

First rule of buffet eating! Don’t eat carbs to your last plate. Second rule if you can’t eat at least 3 plates then you shouldn’t be eating at a buffet.
Bachannal is the most expensive in town for dinner. For 30 dollars you can also get all you can drink alcohol. On thanksgiving and christmas you have to buy vip which is about 150
Not sure if they have it anymore but we did the Buffet of Buffets. It's a 24 Hour pass to like 5+ of the top Buffets in Vegas. At some point we just went into a buffet just to get a drink, we were so stuffed. lol. If you are really hungry, that's the way to do Vegas.

I like to make rib roasts for Christmas night dinner. I always remove the cap, season it, roll it, tie it and seal it in a vacuum bag before freezing. It makes a lovely Valentine's Day dinner! It's a little known "secret" I learned way back in culinary school.

April 20th 2019..... My daughter, her bestie and I ate at the Cosmopolitan Wicked Buffett. We went for brunch on a Saturday but it was the day before Easter. 45 dollars buffet only 62 dollars for unlimited champagne and mimosas. It was excellent
The best cheap Vegas buffet is going to be at any of the Station Casino's properties, including The Palms. It's consistently good and with their player's card is usually around $12 per person for dinner! We lived in Vegas for over 5 years and ate at a lot of cheap buffets and Station's were definitely the best deal for the quality! Plus if you go at the end of breakfast hours, you hang out and wait for the change over to lunch and you have brunch for like $8 each! If you go, make sure you get the fried chicken! For me, South Point is the best bufffet off strip. We used to go to buffets Monday to Friday for like more than 3 years. We eventually stopped going to any station casinos and stick with South Point because the quality and variety of food just way way different. Palms is my favorite among the stations because of better choices and better quality. Green Valley is so overrated. Red Rock is better than Green Valley and Sunset and Fiesta both average.

I think the most expensive brunch, that I know of, is Sterling brunch at Bally's. Sunday only $99 all you can eat, lobster tails and top of the line champagne - YES PLEASE! Met a ton of really nice people there, great service - highly recommend if you want to splurge!

The buffets WANT you to get the starches (Pizza, Macaroni, Noodles) as it doesn't cost them anything! Just eat the crab legs, oysters, etc to get your moneys worth!
Went to the Bellagio buffet all of 17 years ago. We went to the tail end of the lunch buffet which I think was like 3 pm then. It was significantly cheaper than the dinner buffet but just as plentiful. All of the food was amazing. Most memorable were steamed fiddlehead ferns. We had only had them once before, on our honeymoon in Canada, so we were excited to find them again. We were there for a Billy Joel/Elton John concert. The concert was the highlight, but the buffet was a close second.
I seen them in Indy. I was a huge Billy Joel fan, liked a lot of Eltons music, when the concert was over, Elton blew my mind. My God, his talent is second to none. Best concert I was privileged to witness live.

FYI...Station Casinos in Vegas are the best budget buffets, which is why we locals go there.

Amazing video! I'm definitely trying the Buffett at Caesers when I go to Vegas in 2020. I have no idea how you two managed to eat at 2 buffets in one day. Also incredible camera work and editing. Be sure to check out either Groupon for a Caesars buffet deal OR make sure to check out Dine Card from Tix4Tonight Booths on the strip. If you will be there for a few days and eating at couple buffets you will no doubt save with that. We only eat 1 buffet a day as well so just check their online site for buffets and restaurants within the Dine Card deal before you buy it to be sure you will save. Good luck and have fun!!
Caesar's buffet is run by a real perfectionist lady (saw her in action on Derek's channel). $70 is actually a bargain for what you'll get there.

The Buffet at Aria is excellent. A nice middle ground between Arizona Charlie's and Bacchanal. The Bellagio is pretty good, but the space is not inviting and totally detracts from the experience.
I agree! Aria buffet is sooo yummy. Went there for breakfast. Bellagio is ok to me too but Aria beats Bellagio.

Bachannal is the most expensive in town for dinner. For 30 dollars you can also get all you can drink alcohol. On thanksgiving and christmas you have to buy vip which is about 150
Yes it is. You have to book 2 months in advance to get in. Not worth it imo tho. Lobster is great but not a lot of varieties.
We have a local Mennonite buffet and it is about $12 a person. They serve HOMEMADE Ice cream....out in the sticks of Alabama.
Not sure if they have it anymore but we did the Buffet of Buffets. It's a 24 Hour pass to like 5+ of the top Buffets in Vegas. At some point we just went into a buffet just to get a drink, we were so stuffed. lol. If you are really hungry, that's the way to do Vegas.

You wasted the best part of that prime rib. It's the layer that lay's around the top. It's called the cap.
I like to make rib roasts for Christmas night dinner. I always remove the cap, season it, roll it, tie it and seal it in a vacuum bag before freezing. It makes a lovely Valentine's Day dinner! It's a little known "secret" I learned way back in culinary school.

When I lived in Vegas I actually used to eat at Arizona Charlie’s about once a week and I can’t complain. Back then they had prime rib every night. Today I think the best Buffett in Vegas at the most reasonable price is The Palms

April 20th 2019..... My daughter, her bestie and I ate at the Cosmopolitan Wicked Buffett. We went for brunch on a Saturday but it was the day before Easter. 45 dollars buffet only 62 dollars for unlimited champagne and mimosas. It was excellent

The best cheap Vegas buffet is going to be at any of the Station Casino's properties, including The Palms. It's consistently good and with their player's card is usually around $12 per person for dinner! We lived in Vegas for over 5 years and ate at a lot of cheap buffets and Station's were definitely the best deal for the quality! Plus if you go at the end of breakfast hours, you hang out and wait for the change over to lunch and you have brunch for like $8 each! If you go, make sure you get the fried chicken! It's really good! -Brett
For me, South Point is the best bufffet off strip. We used to go to buffets Monday to Friday for like more than 3 years. We eventually stopped going to any station casinos and stick with South Point because the quality and variety of food just way way different.
Palms is my favorite among the stations because of better choices and better quality. Green Valley is so overrated. Red Rock is better than Green Valley and Sunset and Fiesta both average.

I think the most expensive brunch, that I know of, is Sterling brunch at Bally's. Sunday only $99 all you can eat, lobster tails and top of the line champagne - YES PLEASE! Met a ton of really nice people there, great service - highly recommend if you want to splurge!
Definitely would try them both. It depends on the venues sometimes the cheapest taste the most expensive and the most expensive taste cheap.

The buffets WANT you to get the starches (Pizza, Macaroni, Noodles) as it doesn't cost them anything! Just eat the crab legs, oysters, etc to get your moneys worth!
Went to the Bellagio buffet all of 17 years ago. We went to the tail end of the lunch buffet which I think was like 3 pm then. It was significantly cheaper than the dinner buffet but just as plentiful. All of the food was amazing. Most memorable were steamed fiddlehead ferns. We had only had them once before, on our honeymoon in Canada, so we were excited to find them again. We were there for a Billy Joel/Elton John concert. The concert was the highlight, but the buffet was a close second.
I seen them in Indy. I was a huge Billy Joel fan, liked a lot of Eltons music, when the concert was over, Elton blew my mind. My God, his talent is second to none. Best concert I was privileged to witness live.

The cheapest buffet is vegas is the $49 eat all you can buffet access for 5 famous vegas Strip buffet for 24hrs ,, then additional $25 for Bachannal.,,, people didnt know that unless you ask.,, $49 that includes, Flamingo buffet, rio buffet, paris le village buffet, planet hollywood buffet etc..,
The golden nuggets buffet is $7 so this ain't the cheapest either.

My favorite place to eat in Vegas is at the Golden Nugget, back in 2001 at the cafe restaurant where they served the best french onion soup.
