  • I while back I bought the Desert Fox 3L Fuel Bladder and mine leaked all over the place from the nozzle. Then bikegear.co.za/ in PE sent me the redesigned 3L fuel bladder from Desert Fox to test.
This new version of the Desert Fox fuel cell doesn't leak at all and at last it is the bag I wanted to buy the first time. The look and versatility is amazing and it can easily be stowed when not in use. The nozzle is still not great, but more on that in the video.

Really good review. The bag is fantastic but let down by the flimsy nozzle.

I have the previous generation meaning the 'push in' nozzle. I just taped a layer of electrical tape around the 'insert neck' and Bob's your uncle. No leak when you transfer fuel.

That's a great idea. It should not be necessary, but then again, at the price it is a great bag.

The nozzle can also expand to 30 cm . The nozzle has been made to be lightweight and flexible .

I really like the bag, I just wish the nozzle was made from the same plastic as the bag's opening. But I guess that would make it a lot more expensive. This nozzle is definitely better than the originial version.

No, he means to nozzle tæcan be extended for ease of pouring gas out of it 👍
Still would buy the Giantlooo Armadillo instead 😉

Thanks! It seems like nozzles for fuel containers have been around a long time.
Desert Fox seems to try to re-invent a basic thing. Basic hard plastic nozzle like any plastic fuel container has might work easy and better.

Struggling with the exact same thing and desperation brought me here. I don't get how it is possible that such an expensive fuel bag can be such a PITA to use. I'm off to go try again and if it works, it's purely thanks to your video.

Hi Niel. Thanks for letting me know. I initially thought I am just doing something wrong, but no-one in my family managed to get it right the first time. Please let me know if you come right.

@@GreaseAndGravel I spilled quite a lot trying to pour some petrol out of the bag, but then managed to get the spout on using your tips. The problem is a lot of pressure is required to get it on, but it's impossible to get a proper grip on the opening. Going forward I'll either only put 4 litres in by 6 litre bag or take a siphon pipe along.

    • @GreaseAndGravel
      @GreaseAndGravel  Рік тому +1

I agree. Super difficult not to spil. I think it is the poor quality plastic used for the spout. If it was the same hard plastic as the opening it would have been an awesome bag@@nielgerryts2357

Can we expose the bag under the sun ? I will drive long trips during the day and I am planning to put this bag over my topcase... Is there any chance for gas evaporation that cause a damage on the bag and have leak of gasoline. Thank you !

Thanks, I appreciate the support. I recently started using a GoPro Hero 10 with a Purple Panda lav mic off Amazon. You also need the GoPro 3.5mm mic jack adapter and a TRRS to TRS mic jack adapter (link: amzn.to/3WptKXI). I had to order a new battery/sd-crad 'door' (from Takelot) with a port for the mic cable (otherwise, the door has to remain open). It was a mission to figure it all out, but now it works amazingly well. The sound is good while riding, even with the visor open.
If you need more detail, email me at info@adventurebiketroop.com and I'll share all the detail. The Amazon parcels arrived within two weeks to my door.

The nozzle should have been made from the same plastic as the mouth of the bladder & it would have been perfect
