Could not care less about the fans or my legacy if I could sell a few frames and make a living, nothing bad about that, considering bookies are regular and prolific thieves
trump attempts shots no one else would, but stephen lee's cue action and spin is just amazing to watch, they're the best for me. under achieved for the skill he had.
They compare his cue action to a Rolls Royce because it’s so smooth and elegant. If it wasn’t for his cheating scandal he definitely would have done well Such a shame really as he had great skill
English Pool & Snooker he had 10 years in the top 10 and was ranked 8th when he got banned. He also earned 2 million quid. I’d say he was doing pretty well!!
mrb018538 I probably wrote that wrong. I know he had a very successful career, what I meant was he dropped out of the top 16 a few times which is around the same time as the games that were being investigated. He then had some better results and moved back up the rankings just before his ban.
What I like about the Higgins one at the end, the frame was already over and Davis had won it but the colours were still on the table so instead of conceding, Alex just started playing exhibition pots to ensure he got the biggest cheer even though he lost the frame! No wonder Steve had a sour face at the end.
For me it has to be Alex Higgins because he was a pioneer for doing those type of shots. Yes you can argue there are players who could execute them better but in those days the things he was doing was crazy! Especially on those older and slower tables and it laid the foundations for more players to go for those attacking aggressive shots
Alex Higgins invented all these shots, so that puts him ahead of everyone else in this video Also, Higgins produced some of these shots for his immortal 69 break which he needed to stay in the World Championship Anyone can showboat when the stakes are low, but Higgins did an entire break of these shots under the most extreme pressure possible
It's so sad to see Stephen Lee. Loved watching him play and seeing this reminds me of how amazing he was. He'll be back in about 3 years but it's hard to believe he'll be of the same level as he was being away from competition so long. Such a shame, all the amazing snooker that could have happened... sad.
Bilal Manzoor thanks glad you like it, hopefully Judd will get his form back, not been so good the last few tournaments. He is great to watch when he is playing well. 👍🏼
Stephen Lee at 3:21 is absolutely stunning! To play a shot like that! No exhibition stuff when the frame was already secured. Nope, he played this beauty when he was 42 - 35 behind. Impressive 👌
Couldn’t agree more. An absolute monster in cue power. I watched alot of his matches and god damn, this guy can do things with white ball that noone could even think of.
danny Mack86 I suppose we will never know, he wasn’t getting very good results though in the lead up to his ban. Top cue action is one thing, winning tournaments is another.
Ástvaldur Einar Jónsson he was banned from 2013 for 12 years for match fixing and suspicious betting patterns. He won’t be able to return until he is 50.
Higgins had the most cue power out of all these players. I've seen loads of shots on yt vids that only have about 20 views with him putting more banana into and spin into shots than any here. The famous blue is just absurd, you have to hit it so so so hard it's a miracle how he did it on a slow early 80s table
The tables were better in the 80’s and90’s ,the cloths now are less nap and thinner and table heaters make them so fast .the aramith balls are the same weight as the old super crystalite balls strangely enough but they react slightly differently .
No doubt about it!!!! Alex Higgins is the father of royal snooker who it snooker to the next level who has been the greatest inspiration for all current top players, needless to mention some of the important players's names starting from Ronnie/J.Higgins/Selby/Neil/ Shaun /the player of the current era - Judd Trump
Nice compilation. Another player with incredible cue power from back in the day was Neal Foulds although you'd have to go back to the 1980's to get some of his. I think he was the first player I recall being able to play a full length of the table shot and being able to screw the white back into baulk. And prior to Jimmy White there was a left hander from South Africa (I think) called Perrie Mans who used to play some of those ridiculous screwbacks that Jimmy later made famous.
Thank you. I remember Neal Foulds but not that well, I think he was ranked number 3 when I started watching snooker and I went to one of his exhibitions. I don’t really remember much about his playing style. Perrie Mans is a little before my time.
Thanks glad you like it. Good point about Robertson, although he has amazing cue power but doesn’t do that many banana shots. If I do an exhibition shot compilation I will put some of his in there. 😊
I didn’t put him in the video. He has amazing cue power but doesn’t play that many ‘banana’ shots. I have done another video based only on Robertson called snooker from the gods. 😊
Great video! Judd's shot at 5:45 is pretty impressive, but the opposite handed shot Ronnie played on the final red of his twelvth maxi puts it to shame. If I'd as much cue power as that with my good hand, I'd be more than happy! Don't know if it had much banana, but still some shot.
Thanks glad you liked it. Yes that shot from Ronnie is in my other upload of the best shots of all time. Still can’t believe he did that left handed, difficult pot anyway and landed perfect on the black.
I still believe that Jimmy White is the pioneer and king of the banana shot, even more so than Alex Higgins and recently Judd Trump. Quite a few of Jimmy White's classics were not featured here... such as the one where he smashes in the black off its spot, bounces the cue ball off the top cushion, bananas the cue ball into the side cushion near the centre pocket, where it rebounds all the way to the balk cushion and lined up perfectly for the yellow sitting on the balk cushion.
@@EnglishPoolandSnooker Absolutely. And I find that Judd Trump is more cold and calculating with his "naughty snooker", whereas Jimmy and Alex Higgins just had that natural whirlwind and hurricane flair with their massive cue power and spin shots. So entertaining.
Higgins and White. They had to contend with those - thick baize, slow tables - that suited a majority of the players at the time. But still managed to pull of those wonder shots.
That Higgins blue still seems to defy logic to get the white ball there. Jimmy White and O'Sullivan have both tried to recreate that shot and neither got close.
All player surely can do these things. But the only player make this stuff look so pretty belong to Stephen Lee The Rolls Royce and The Ace Mr Judd. They make this shot not only for exhibition like others do.
In my opinion the majority of players wouldn’t be able to do these shots. Maybe some could re-create them on a practice table with several attempts. The likes of Judd and Lee can pull these shots off to perfection during matches.
Jimmy and Higgins put the bases, lee continued on their legacy and Judd took it to its absolute excellence!
It just shows how much talent Stephen Lee had. Let himself, every pro player and every fan down.
Yes, a wasted talent
Could not care less about the fans or my legacy if I could sell a few frames and make a living, nothing bad about that, considering bookies are regular and prolific thieves
Alex higgins it's been 10years lad and people are still scratching their heads. What a massive contribution you made to the sport. RIP.
trump attempts shots no one else would, but stephen lee's cue action and spin is just amazing to watch, they're the best for me. under achieved for the skill he had.
Agreed, I suppose his career was cut short because of the ban but he wasn’t doing that well anyway.
They compare his cue action to a Rolls Royce because it’s so smooth and elegant. If it wasn’t for his cheating scandal he definitely would have done well
Such a shame really as he had great skill

Great selection. That last one from Higgins was top shelf.
Thanks glad you liked it. Yes Higgins was very entertaining to watch
He is best
The shots that Trump and Williams played are most impressive for me !
The lighter balls and lightning fast cloth do make a difference. Yes Judds creative shots are brilliant to watch
Jimmy, Stephen and Judd are the top players in crazy spin shots. There is really no other way around.
What I like about the Higgins one at the end, the frame was already over and Davis had won it but the colours were still on the table so instead of conceding, Alex just started playing exhibition pots to ensure he got the biggest cheer even though he lost the frame! Definitely ahead of his time, would’ve been great to see him in his prime on a modern table
Ikr. On those old tables & in tournaments, sensational!

Realistically, I think he’ll be too old and I assume he would have qualify to get on tour again. I expect he will play in the seniors.
@@EnglishPoolandSnooker It’s always worth a shot
Rolls-Royce cue action. I was so young when he got banned, what a player.
No empathy. He cheated the game, and gave it so much disrespect. Wasted talent.
Perfect!! I saw Michaela twice
Your luck is in she is reffing the world senior snooker championships this week 👍🏼
Judd trump is all time favorite but alex higgins was also master.... Great video man

Tremendous shots Alex Higgins
01:20 the dude on the right bottom corner still gets me to this very day lol
😂 he definitely enjoyed it
he is all i see from that shot.. has been for years haha
Stephen Lee at 3:21 is absolutely stunning! To play a shot like that! No exhibition stuff when the frame was already secured. Nope, he played this beauty when he was 42 - 35 behind. Impressive 👌
Awesome cue power
Yes Stephen Lee had an incredible cue action (Rolls Royce), was always a pleasure to watch.
That's the most impressive shots. The ones where the frame is already over is fun to watch, but doing it under pressure is the real thing 💪
Thank you. And thanks also for not spoiling it by putting music over it. Great video.
Thanks, glad you like it 😃
Snooker need Stephen Lee's back
Yes would be good to see him return but he will be 50 qualifying from scratch so I can’t see it happening. Maybe in the world seniors.
Amazing compilation, keep them coming please. Some of the Stephen Lee shots are incredible
Great video! Jimmy White, what a shot!
Stephen Lee shot on the blue din't even see it pot, even frame by frame. Crazy pace.
What amazes me about Higgins is the amount of power he generates with hardly any backswing
Yes definitely not text book but somehow it worked!! Must be good timing and a natural
Fantastic shots ,well done.
Absolutely incredible 😍
2:10..best positional shot ever..
I do not know what to say , but it was very impressive, it was the best snooker video
Thanks 😊
Great video - nice to see decent footage of Jimmy's banana yellow. Thanks very much for taking the time to upload :)
Thank you. If it’s the shot I think you mean it was the brown ball 👍🏼
Lee is the rolls Royce of cue actions.
Stepehn Lee- Rolls Royce.😎
Brilliant cue action
Brilliant cue action... Awful sportsmanship.
danny Mack86 Yes he got too greedy. Then he sold his cue on eBay and didn’t send it to the buyer.
Stephen Lee has some of the best cue power/integrity of any player of his era. Shame he got mixed up in some shady stuff.
Yes he was a great player to watch. Wasted talent.

The only thing Trump is missing is a personality.
He’s not the best talker in interviews etc but he certainly makes up for it on the table. Not everyone is comfortable in front of a tv camera.

Steven Lee for me there. Amazing cue action.
Jimmy white was best
