- In this review I go over the Canon C100 mk II which I have been using for the past 3 years. I go over it's big advantages and it's quirky short comings. It's a great camera, but is it still worth using in 2021?
Check out this camera:

I've used the Canon C100 for several years, and recently got a RED Raven. But I also just ordered a C100 Mark II to accompany my C100 because I still love these cameras! Weddings and interviews on the C100s, and commercials and films the RED. Such good cameras!
sorry to be so offtopic but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.

I bought a C100 M2 in 2019 after using one at work for 3 years. Hard to believe we're still talking about a HD camera that's 6 years old. Why? It's just a reliable, proven workhorse with great image quality. Yes I hate only HD 4.2.0 8 bit, but that said, the the file size is a joy to edit and it grades remarkably well for a mediocre codec. Besides all the great features you noted, how about mentioning COOLING FAN! Try to shoot a wedding all day long at 4K on a Sony or Canon. Oh yeah and how about the variable ND filters you have to buy for every lens you own. This camera is definitely showing it's age, but there's a reason Canon still makes it in 2021 - remarkable footage and great features and reliability - perfect for long shoots.
The most reliable camera I've ever owned.
@@BrianKissig but you know the camera came out in 2014 right? The c200 came out in 2017.
Pair this with a ninja blade and this Camera is still golden
So great camera. Image quality right out of the box so great.
I am receiving a one tomorrow that is brand new. I paid $1649 for it.
Great pro and con points. Almost got tempted into buying one of the new $6K + cinema cameras out but came to the realization that the C100 mkii is still amazing. I am instead going to invest in more lenses and an external recorder for doing more after effects and green screen work. Plus the pro res code will make it even easier to edit with an already amazingly easy to work with camera.
I’ve been using it on a stabilizer rig and it has been alright. But may upgrade my 7dmkii to an R5 or R6 and have it live on the stabilizer or slider as a second camera.
Yeah that's what I forgot to mention, I haven't used an external recorder for it, but it's a killer combination with the c100 MkII.
I just purchased a second C100Mk2 body.
Great video man. Want to ask what's the crop factor for this camera? Is it the same as APSC x1.6? I just got this about a week ago and I really love it. I love how it converts internally from 4k to 1080p as all I need is 1080p but the image is so beautiful. I feel it's a good starting point for me to learn how to use a cinema camera.
Yes it's about 1.6 for this camera too
@@BrianKissig Thanks Brian 😃
anyone have a issue with the monitor turning off when it is closed in? When it is flipped out it shows fine, but it turns off when I close it in to film.
Brian - Thank You for this review!
Quick Question: Firmware Update for the Canon C100 Mark II: I'm not sure I need it, but: I cannot figure out how to check what Firmware version I have currently. I've searched high and low, gone through the menus 3x and cannot find any notification of what Firmware I currently have. Any chance you cuold point me in the right direction? Thanks!
I know this comment is a year old but have you found anyway of updating yours? Thanks
Love my c100 Mark ii. I don’t think I’ll ever sell it.
HI BRO
I have two options to buy a Sony A7III or a Canon C100 II at the same price, I ask about sharpness, dynamic range and colors, and is the quality of Canon FHD really comparable to 4K
What is the verdict if the internal date and time battery dies. How much does canon charge to replace that. Just bought c100 and sounds like it needs an internal battery.
This video was super helpful. I’m having issues with constant strobing and flickering on the c100 when filming inside with LED and artificial light, tried lots of different things with shutter speed and changing settings but still no luck. Any advice?
I have been stuck on the same problem until now. Have you been able to resolve it? If so, can you please share the solution?"Thanks so much.
Hello. What is the best video quality for Canon C100 Mark2 or Canon 90D?
What's crazy is in the uk, a mk2 can be had for £1200
What lens are you using on the r6? Also are you shooting 4k or 1080p?
Do you find the video is “softer” (less sharp) than video from a dslr?
I recently got a c100ii and I am not getting a video as sharp as I was with my 80D
yeah typically cinema cameras dont get as as sharp as dlsrs, but sometimes that is preferred for a more cinematic look.

Thank you. Would changing from 24fps to 30fps make it sharper?
Not necessarily, but it will make the movement slightly smoother.@@rickraub5448
@@BrianKissig tks
Odd question, but what's the coldest you'd recommend this to be operational in? Thanks
It can handle pretty extreme temperatures. but I wouldn't shoot for a long time below 32 degrees F if you're able to. The battery will drain much quicker. But can still manage if you're shooting in shorter bits.
Man your dates are way off mk2 was released in 2014! And around $5499. I had one still a great camera
What’s even more mind blowing is the original C100 was $8000 at launch.
Hi. May you can help me. Someone are selling me this camera. What should I look for before buying?
I don't now if the GH5 could be a better optión :(
Have you upscaled the footage to 4k?
I have, but because of the compression it doesn't look as clean.
is it possible to stream the image on a live stream via OBS?
Yes we've livestreamed through OBS with this many times on CK Productions
Oh look, a hipster
lol
@@BrianKissig I was kidding.
