My ranking from worst to best in Craig-era. - Spectre (2015) - No Time To Die (2021) - Quantum Of Solace (2008) - Casino Royale (2006) - Skyfall (2012) In my opinion No Time To Die is good Bond adventure but I don't like the villain plot and I hate the ending so I put Quantum Of Solace on top of No Time To Die.
fair rating, but honestly Quantum is so much better than its reputation suggests. it was the last time Craig's Bond was his own entity instead of referencing the old films again.

Hmm, don't think it was quite as bad as other action scenes in Quantum having too many cuts. Still think the fight scene that was edited best was Bond's brief brawl with Slate in his hotel room.
@@TheWorld-of7dd People who went to see Quantum in the cinema obviously couldn't do that as they had no control over the film projector. Couldn't exactly keep asking the projectionist to rewind it every 5 minutes😄
I think the answer is "no," no one can help you, because it doesn't make any sense. :P After rewinding the movie a few times, I couldn't figure it out either, and came to this video to see if anyone else had any clue. I mean... I guess we're supposed to assume the boat flipped because the rope was connected to something solid and it got pulled taut? But then what was it attached to? It was sitting in the bottom of Bond's boat, and there's no indication that he tied the other end to anything. My guess is that this was an editing mistake on the part of the film-makers; there was probably supposed to be a scene of him tying it to something, but it got left out? Or otherwise an establishing shot of it being tied to something? Or maybe they forgot to shoot that bit in the first place? Or maybe they had to cut the scene down to make it line up with the climactic music? *Shrug...*
@@sandeepj2745 thanks sandeep! that makes sense now! i really think they should have included a shot of the anchor hooks bursting the rubber walls of the boat, then it would have been clear. but thanks once again for solving a mystery of many many years! :)
I like Daniel Craig as Bond (and other rolls he has done) but I also Like Olga Kurylenko. She is one of my top "Bond' women. But then again Michelle Yeoh is one of my favorite Bond women also. I know some people have issues with Ms Kurylenko being Ukrainian/Russian and playing a Bolivian. I do not. She is an ACTRESS playing a character. There is a certain element of MAKE BELIEVE in acting. Besides, she looks GREAT doing it.
Plus in the movie, they say Camille (Olga’s character) is mixed. Her dad was Bolivian and her mom was Russian. So I can let it slide. She did such a good job, I thought she was actually Latina.
I have to say that of all the many beautiful talented Bond women, Olga Kurylenko is the most exotically beautiful. To put the attraction to words can't be done other than saying: "There's just something about Olga." Lol Also, I wish my 40 horsepower outboard motor had the power like the one in this scene.
I got reminded to watch this scene again after Abi commented on it in the "Kill James Bond" podcast. The bit at 3:07 makes no sense. What is even happening here? Bond picked that rope up from the bottom of his boat, but the other boat got yanked off as though it was being pulled from behind? It feels like some kind of film-editing mistake. Was there supposed to be a shot of Bond tying the rope to something and it got left out? Considering that it's the climax of the fight scene, that seems like a pretty important detail to leave out. Were they unable to find it in their... (looks it up) ...$220 million budget to include that shot? :P
I left a similar comment, and Sandeep came up with the explanation...the boat is a rubber one, filled with air, the anchor hooks puncture the rubber and boom, like a bursting balloon, the bad guys' boat goes somersaulting backwards. I have rewatched it with this in mind, and am pretty sure Sandeep has solved the mystery. But as you say in your comment...you think for $220 mill, a simple, comprehensible shot of the anchor hooks penetrating the rubber sides, the sound of air bursting free, then the somersault, would not have been too much for ask.
@@glennlumsden5316 I'm not convinced that's what's happening. Bond throws the anchor very gently, definitely not hard enough to puncture the rubber. Also, at 3:12, you can see the rope getting pulled taut, as if it was tied to something, but there's never any indication what it's tied to, because it was at the bottom of Bond's boat, and both boats are in contact with each other, so what's pulling the rope? Also, the rubber boat gets pulled back, as though the rope is pulling it from behind. I still think there was supposed to be a scene of the other end of the rope being tied to something, but the film-makers left it out by mistake.
For some reason, she was not an interesting character yet consumed big chunk of the movie. Maybe this is why this is the least loved Bond film of Craig's.
She went on to have a reasonably successful career as an action star herself. Perhaps her exposure in this was intentional. Would have been good if they'd brought her back as the Havana agent in No Time To Die.
@@mikes5637 she was bolivian secret service, she would have no reason to be there. also, her arc was complete, no need to bring her back, as cool as it would've been
I think it gets overlooked because it was the first time a Bond film was a direct sequel, continuing immediately after the final scene of Casino Royale . With 3 years in between releases most people had forgotten how CR ended. Watch it soon after Casino Royale and treat it as CR2 rather than a standalone film and it improves enormously.
There was a writers strike at the time of the making of this movie so it was sort of cobbled together. I think even Daniel Craig did some of the writing on this one
nah man, this movie has some serious layers and everything about it is underrated. it can't be the worst of Craig's run when you've got Spectre, a movie with little to no discernible plot, and NTTD, a continuation of said film that tries but fails to tie everything neatly.
Sign of the Times. However, a forced promotion not based on meritocracy. I hope the new Bond flops mightily. Some traditions should not be messed with. The idea of a Black female 007 is just as ludicrous as appeasing the LGBT crowd by installing a T-girl 007 with a raspy male voice. Revisionism is ridiculous. Imagine Napoleon as Transgender; Hitler as a Black male; Stalin and Castro modernized as Gay. If the franchise means nothing these days, install a Latina mandona to madrear evil mamarrachos. A 007 speaking Spanish to seduce the said mamarrachos, and 600 million potential movie goers in Latin America alone. Since many British are buying into Spain, that would be a more profitable venture than KowTow to BLM.
There is only one 007; the status of 00 is an elite status requiring certain clearance.
