It’s way too fuckin’ hot and humid in Okinawa.
American influence in Okinawa is a mixed bag. There are some good things, like Taco Rice and American style restaurants and shops.
But the worst is American-style car-centric lifestyle, which makes it nearly impossible to live without a car. This creates tons of traffic, noise, pollution, and wasted space. It also makes it difficult to get around, especially for the island's large elderly population. If you can't drive, just going to the hospital or city office requires taking a taxi, or _trying_ to catch a bus that can show up way late - or worse - way early, so you miss it and have to wait for the next one, which doesn't come for hours. It really ruins the quality of life in what might otherwise be paradise.
Okinawa doesn't need more hotels or shopping malls. *Okinawa needs trains and bicycle infrastructure.*

@@kylefromjp I live in Okinawa the population is out of control. The Okinawans has sold their souls to the Japanese and in return the Japanese has sold Okinawa to the Chinese and Koreans. Think of Hawaii you got Okinawa. Toursist attraction everywhere built by the Chinese and Korean. Long live Okinawa!
Or buses Kyoto has an amazing bus system.
