@@BIGJURAY20 what if I have 2 tweeters and 4 mids? I have the front mids and tweeters on an audio pipe crossover. Would this eq still work?
@Demontae Sanders Yes you can still get total separation between mids and tweeters. It's all how u wire your speakers to your amp
Always ground the eq to it's own separate ground. It will help stop engine noise coming through the speakers.

Everything should get its own good clean chassis ground including your head unit and amplifiers as well as equalizers and crossovers I hate alternator noise 😂

In this video i was using a 2 channel amp with channel 1 dedicated to Tweeters and Channel 2 dedicated to the mids and had a 1 channel for subs

I had two 18s back in the 90s a sound stream amp a fosgate amp and soundstream mids and highs in a 95 Nissan hardbody and got it all stolen. Never again.5000 dollars gone in one night.

Splicing the ground to ground will create interference I know this is an older video, but you should not splice your ground into another ground just ground to metal.
Yea i agree which is why i also stated to clean the surface area and apply it's own ground.

What is it you need help with exactly?
If you're running 4 subwoofers to your amplifier be sure they are Dual 2 ohm each

Yes you can
U can but you won't be able to use all the crossover points. Most of them are for mids and highs

Yes i just looked up the Boss Ar 4000 watt amp and it says it's 1 ohm stable.

If you have a 4 channel using an equalizer can help fine tune your system.

What if I have a converter hooked up to my system because I have a factory radio do I just plug the EQ into the converter
The rcas from the convertor to the equalizer input rca and the equalizers output rca goes to the amps used. That way u have full control of your system from the equalizer itself
i have a lc7i and a 4 channel amp running my door speakers. Theres 2 sets of rca's. 1 set for the fronts and 1 set for the rears. How do i go about adding this eq to my setup?
The front output of the lc7i to the main input of the eq then the front, rear and sub outputs from the eq to your amps
man crimps and heat shrink is the way to do it man try it out no disrespect just a suggestionalso a fuse block you can get them with 1 fuse up to 4 or more the less tucked behind the unit.

On mine, the equalizer turns off and on by a light switch lol and I can turn on the stereo and equalizer on when the key is in the off position which shouldn't happen, correct? I think that's whats draining my battery. I bought the truck with a sound system already installed
I hate installing after someone's mess. Sorry you're going through this yes you're right it's not operating under normal circumstances. Do you have experience with radio installation??? Maybe i can help u with your process
BIGJURAY20 just thought I should update you. I had no experience installing a stereo or any aftermarket audio. I did some research and pulled up the radio wiring diagram for my truck. The original harness for the radio was cut so the wiring diagram helped a lot. Basically I rewired the EQ and the stereo and fixed my problem. Battery hasn't died on me since then. And everything is turning off and on as it should :D
That's great news bro happy it all worked out for you. The fact is alot of people cut corners to get things done. But taking time and getting it done right the first time last longer in the end. Congrats bro great job. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

At the time I had this vehicle is was made for testing purposes. So I would put and pull audio equipment a lot. So yes unfortunately it didn't look the cleanest but never an issue
Quick question bro. How did u end up tuning it with the dd1 with the eq?? Confused atm on how to do it.
Put the sub rca in the DD1 from the eq output to test for distortion. I tested each output and crossover point to assure I didn't reach distortion

So you can put the highs and mids to one four channel amp the the signals will not be messed up?
4 channel amps have 2 separate crossovers and gains so just as long as things are set correctly shouldn't have issues

Is your amp 1 ohm stable? If it is you can power 4 12 inch subs that need to be dual 2 ohm each

@@tonymccoy761 It's either 1 ohm or it isn't. It will show a 4 ohm 2 ohm and 1 ohm power rating if so. That shows what the amplifier can do at those wired ohm loads
I have the power supply from eq connected to the head unit wires... but when i turn truck off or on there is a loud pop... anyone knows what it could be?
Try changing the ground location
Complete trash. Living in colorado: knobs are stuck in the winter and in the 100 degree summers, the rheostats are crunchy AF. Lots of popping every time i hit an imperfection on the road or when i tap my dash.
Do you set the gains on your amps before you equalize, or do you turn them all down on the amps and just use the equalizer?
No set the amp up first and use eq to make it sound clear
Set head unit to just before clipping then turn the 7 band eq all the way up THEN set your amp gains

If that's what u want to do. How u have it mounted doesn't matter just as long as it's wired up correctly and playing as it should

Yes, you can use speaker wire to power the equalizer. Just be sure to use a fuse to protect the unit

Well when connecting an equalizer to an existing system you wire it as i show in the video and run the RCA to their destinated location.

Hey bro I just installed a clarion equalizer but for some reason it turns on when I turn the car on but it will go dim as in the first three knobs will be lit and the rest dim. Also there is no sound or signal being sent to my amp. I’m not sure if you can give any advice on this? Please try to reply asap. Thanks in advance

Yes, you can use the equalizer for your amplifier. Whether it's for doors, Subwoofers or both you're ok
what the input sensitivity for this equalizer can handle....
Doesn't say what the input sensitivity is not like Amplifiers do. Only that it puts out 8v max to the Rca

How high do you have the volume turned up on the eq
I had my eq volume all the way turned up. I checked all distortion levels with my DD1.

Well you'd need an aftermarket amplifier to help tune with equalizers like these.
I also have a Armada mines a 09 the stock system is actually pretty loud for what it is

awesome quick response. Na I have a eqs-755 from clarion basically the same thing for the plug ins except mine says main when your soundstream says CD. Anyway my electronic knowledge only goes so far, but I'm trying to hook it up without a 4 channel amp for my door speakers and it's not going well. It turns on, but I have no EQ control over anything. I have RCA's to the Head unit Have a ground to bare metal in the vehicle, got the remote wire with the other remote wires to the factory harness and have the 12 volt to the factory harness. So I guess I have to have the other two RCA's going to an amp, maybe thats why it's not working. Any help is appreciated
By my knowledge with your unit you can either use rcas to an amplifier or the hi input which requires you to use your factory head units speaker output both left and right which allows the eq output side to take effect without the use of input rca. But, equalizers such as these are functional with amplifiers only

You can always get an inexpensive one just to help with fine tuning your system

It will only filter what the crossovers will allow but it shouldn't hurt to try. They are pretty reasonably priced
I bought same eq but for some reason as soon as i plug in i get buzzing noise even when radio is at 0 val.and when i turn off from. Key i get a huge dump sound from subs any idea what it could be?
How is the unit grounded and where do u have your eq mounted?

Ground the eq itself and see if it helps any

Whatever amplifier you're using for the subwoofer will be wired into the subwoofer inputs

U can tune just about any amplifier with an equalizer. You'll need a Full Range amplifier like a 4 channel to tune you mids and highs. Then, your amplifier for your subwoofer can be tuned as well

Don't believe the came with any wires but they did come with what's needed to get the job done. The equalizer didn't give out any engine noise very nice unit

How did you have your CD player setup for sounds on this EQ
I don't play CD but having the audio settings on the radio all even and only using the equalizer to tune can help with Bluetooth, Auxiliary, USB and CD playing

I got this equalizer because I dont have a remote for my sub level so I was going to use this instead. If I'm only hooking up the sub to this how many rca cables do I need? Also no disrespect but I think you had some confusion in the blue wire connection. The blue and white wire is for the remote and the solid blue wire is if you have power antennas. I thought if your vehicle has neither u are supposed to just cap them off. The eq will turn off and on with your radio regardless through the red and yellow wires.

I have a questions, I wired up my sub and amp but not bass is playing. I switched the wires around used different rca cables, my amp turns on and the fuse for the amp isn’t blown but nothing is being put out by the sub. Do you think the amp it’s self my be broken?

I have a 2 qpower 12s in a ported box on a 1000 watt Cerwin Vega hed amp do you think they need a sealed box
Having a sealed box can help give u better response with your setup. Definitely worth a try. Maybe about 1 cube + of space per sub
all depends what kind of bump you want, if you wanna wake up the town with boomy hip-hop/rap get a ported box, if you want tight punchy bass for like rock music or metal anything you want to sound clean and tight get a sealed enclosure.

Someone just hooked up a EQ in my car and it keeps sending my amp into protect mode.. he only wired it off my sub and amp tho not ti my head unit or the factory system at all.. I’m having it taken out cause I don’t think he knows what he’s doing smh
For the eq to also be able to tune your door speakers you'll need an amplifier for them. If you only have an amplifier for the subs at the moment then the equalizer would only control the Subwoofers output

Sir I have a question ok on a mono amp it has 2 sets of rca outputs 1 says input & the other 1 says output ok so do you plug in the rca plugs in where it says input or output coming from the subout in the back of the eq going back to the bass mono amp i'm going to run two amps also like you have it is kind of confusing because most headunits have a sub preout in the back but I see you just have 1 set of rca plugs and they aren't running to the sub pre out you have it running from front to the cd preout in the back of the eq to the back of the radio I get that part so the sub preout on the back of the eq where does it plug in at going back to the class d/ mono amp do you plug them in in the input or the output please help not trying to be confusing I need that eq in my setup I been had it sitting around for a year help!

@@trevinopadayachee8570 to control your midrange and midbass speaker you're gonna want them on the rear channel. And your tweeters will be on thr front. That way your speakers can be adjusted with neccessary crossover points. When using an external Equalizer such as the one used in this video. I recommend leaving all crossover points/ gains on the headunit on 0.

Why hook it to the front output on headunit i just tried it and didn't sound very good
Well each unit is a little different and everyone's preference is as well. Just used Front since the radio didn't interfere with the Equalizer.
Did rear output sound better for your system?
Ik this is a dumb question but I hooked up a dsp and I hooked up the amp and dsp remote wire to the original headunit remote wire, when I turn on and off the car it’ll make a loud thump. What did I do wrong?
Try checking your grounds to see if that helps
Sometimes it happens when gains are up a little too high

@anthonylara3087 It could be the unit emitting that signal but it's hard to say exactly. If your grounds are all separate and the unit is mounted safely away from metal. I'm a little puzzled myself. I'll look into it a little more to see if i find a little info

@@Fishing_with_Gilbert509 ok so what you'd have to do is run Rca from radios front or rear to Equalizer main input. From there you'll want to use the rca from Equalizers Subwoofer output to your amplifiers input. Be sure your radios settings are all set to 0 since you'll be using the equalizer to tune. Also be sure the equalizer is 0 on all bands or in the middle which is flat. Once your amplifiers gain and crossovers are set you can tune the rest from the equalizer
Did u use a 4 or 2 channel amp
In this video it's a 2 channel and i used y splitter rca to separate the channels. Channel 1 for tweeters/front to eq channel 2 for mids/rear to eq

This type of equalizer is best used with Amplifiers. This model wont help tune a stock system
If your vehicle comes equipped with a stock amplifier you maybe able to use this type of equalizer to help fine tune your system

You still active man ? I'm trying to hook up my clarion eq and for some reason only the fader is working on it? Adjustments do not work. And some how when I pull out my midbass stage rca from my crossover it still plays sound. Any clue what might cause that? I followed the steps. Tomorrow I'm gonna pull out everything and try again. @@BIGJURAY20 starting with a 10k nemesis audio for starters probably and moving on to a b2 12.k after I save up for it. I don't want any Brazilian running for too long in my ride

Yes it's ported and it's tuned to 31hz

1 is all you need. I had 3 amps running off of one equalizer. Front output for highs amp, rear output for mids amp and subwoofer output for the subs

You can run 2 equalizers but i don't feel it would change anything when a single equalizer can do what's needed in your application

Equalizers aren't necessary only good to use if u feel you'd like to fine tune your system. There are always ways around it

12v from the factory constant which is the yellow wire on the harness

If yours has an Aux button, try pushing it and see if there's any output

I appreciate the love bro. Flat line all your crossover points on your head unit and control from your eq. 60hz to 90hz is a decent cutoff for your subs on your EQ

Hard to say bro because i don't know when you reach a level of distortion. I'd have everything flat then tune from there bro
I tuned mines with a DD1 radio, eq and amplifier so i knew where i could and couldn't play on my crossover points.
