    It has to work as designed. For what you're wanting to accomplish, the only way it's designed to work is to run 1 amplifier stereo on either the front or back outputs on the EQ, this is your full range adjustment. Then on amplifier 2 run it either stereo or bridged to the subs, this amp goes to the sub out on the EQ. It's the ONLY way its gonna work. It wasn't designed to be configured any other way.

    Because that's not an frequency equalizer, now a days they call them eqs but really they are preamp eq. It adjust the Decibel signal of the frequency. Get a old school eq that adjusts the frequency band of the signal . Rear and Front are for speaker s, u take those to your speaker amp line in, all you need to do its from your radio or source send an rca to the back of that preamp eq aux or in, then take the sub out from thf preamp to an amp where the sub is going to be conected . You need separate amps for speakers and sub. Is how you use that preamp.

    first that setup is cool as hell.... 2nd it's designed to work independently from mains to sub outs. 3rd one amp should be for the midbass, mids and highs. the other for the lower end bass and sub woofer frequencies. it will reproduce a more detailed and all around better top to bottom sound.

      Thanks. I just downloaded the Planet Audio PEQ 15 owner's manual. It looks like it can it "tweak" certain freqs with those adjusters...VERY cool! This can eliminate those hot spots AND boost the 20-30 Hz low-low bass in stereo (2-channel). I am going to order one

    The situation is that the 7 bands are passive equalization.
    Uses non V+/-.
    The subwoofer output uses a iC to boost the output.
    So of course is gonna take over

    You can separate your outputz by left and right 1 each to the amp where you get your output from 1 sub for the bass out and the other sub for ur bass from the EQ SO 1 FREQUENCY BY SUB

    Not sure if I quit understand what your trying to do. If your trying to use your rear outputs on eq to run to subwoofer. If you have 2 amps 1 for each sub run a single pair of rca’s out of your sub out on eq then use 2 y splitters that are 1 end female other end dual male rca’s and then you can run 2 subs and not share your output with the rears. Each output has different frequency ranges. It looked like you just had the wrong set of y splitters. Pay attention to the male and female part of the splitters. Hope that helps

    Hi Sir. Thank you so much for posting the video.
    Please advise. I can't get my subwoofer to produce 20Hz bass; it still has punchy bass, which I don't want.
    Should I use an aftermarket cross over like "boss" to get the 20Hz wavy bass?
    I have a 12 inch, 2000watt Pioneer sub in ported box (responsive to 20Hz) with a dedicated Pioneer mono block 1000Hz amp in my car. The remaining midranges and tweeters each have their own 6 channel pioneer amplifier. Finally, I have a graphic equalizer.
    Please advise, sir, if I should get a cross over
    I, and tune it to 20zHz ? I have tried using several graphic equalizers, but none of them had a 20Hz bass knob to enable this kind of bas.s

    • @ChrisDIYerOklahoma
      @ChrisDIYerOklahoma  Рік тому +1

      Holy smokes! 20 Hz is wicked low and is more "felt" than heard. I really don't have suggestions. I know most guys tune to 30-35 Hz. From my experience, bigger subwoofers (15" or 18") with proper cabinet tuning and power amplification will rumble down to 15-20 Hz with some added boost subwoofer equalization. Good luck.

      @@kennetht1346 Thank you Sir, for replying and advising. As you have stated, that is how it’s connected, a dedicated mono block amp for the subwoofer with sub out from the equalizer feeding it. But, still with punchy base.

      Thanks for commenting. I just replaced the bilge pump in my backyard pond. I used a Rule 360 12v bilge pump ($23 on Amazon) www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0G6D6D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My old bilge pump lasted all season last year and "was" working this spring...but, the pond was dirty. It sucked up some gunk. The new one is excellent too. NOTE: Use a 12v voltage regulator to keep the volts going to the pump right at 12.0 volts. That is the #1 thing that KILLS these bilge pump is high volts (greater than 12.0 volts). This is what I use (with a Jerry rigged USB fan on top to keep it cool): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WFMKMV9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Good luck

    Have a question when u install an eq between the amp does it matter clipping or distortion. Or do u set your gains on the amp first and then just hook up the eq. Or how does ot it work

    • @marcuslinton310
      @marcuslinton310 2 роки тому +2

      You always start with your head unit to determine its clipping point first, than add the EQ to the head unit and adjust any gains the EQ may have, than you add the amplifier and adjust its gains. If you have subwoofers you have to adjust full range and subwoofer signals separately. Typically you want your sub options on the HU and EQ maxed out as you adjust those gains, but there is a lot of variance here depending on how each person likes their bass.

      Hook it all up start with fq down and Amp turn deck up about 70% settings down then set your gain set it to where u have enough power to do what u want from the deck then cut your vol back on the deck about to 45% then set your eq then crossover word of advice keep on low pass and fq low around 40hz on Amp if u have subs 12 15 in big speakers don't really need fq levels high small ones gain or eq vol low fq levels up 80hz is best for those like 8 or 10 in

      @@marcuslinton310 hey man I have pretty much the same question. So I got an oscilloscope and I know what my HU clipping point is and also the proper voltage needed for the speakers and subs. Ik you’re supposed to tune w full volume before clipping as well as have the subwoofer remote knob all the way up (not on the amp, but the remote knob) and tune that way. So if I get an EQ like this, would I set all the eq settings to the highest and then tune the all with that signal so that way if I want to change eq settings according to what song I’m listening to, it won’t send clipped signal? Is that how this would work? TIA

    • @marcuslinton310
      @marcuslinton310 2 роки тому

      @@8driann911 With the EQ settings, you want to max out the bass knob for sure, but all the other frequency adjustments you typically want to be flat middle during gain settings which is the 0 gain mark. This is by no means set in stone because everything can be adjusted based on listening preferences. However, the idea behind using the middle point 0 is that you want to be able to go up or down with the frequency adjustments. Most people don't listen to their music at maximum volume so this setting typically works. In general, though, you're better off using the negative values vs positive values on the EQ. So while playing music if you feel you need more treble, try lowering the middle frequencies a bit before trying to increase the higher frequencies. It's essentially the same effect, but you're cutting the lower frequencies vs trying to boost the higher ones. Boosting a signal is when clipping and distortion can occur. If you were to max out all the frequencies before setting the main gain, it would drastically change it's position for sure and you would be leaving a lot of signal unused after you set your EQ back to middle. I get your concern about distortion, after the fact, but that's why you lower the other frequencies first. You only use positive gain when absolutely necessary. The infamous "Smiley face curve" with the highest and lowest frequencies at 0 and the smile curving in to the negative.

    • @8driann911
      @8driann911 2 роки тому

      @@marcuslinton310 oh ok I see. Either way, my speakers supposedly do 300wrms each, and I’ll have 4. I doubt I’ll even get to full volume on HU so if anything, I’ll turn down the gain so when I go full volume, it’ll still be comfortable to listen to. Having the gain lower than the clipping point would give me headroom to be able to adjust eq higher if ever needed?
