I find it refreshing, and dig that you are multi-species fisherman and not afraid to target the crappies and even catch n cook. This is how I grew up, on the crappies and walleyes (trips to Wisconsin). Nothing wrong with it! So many guys and gals are "largemouth bass only" fisherman and I think that is their prerogative but limiting themselves. I have become more of a largemouth and smallmouth bass guy (especially creek smallies in the summer and fall via the kayak), but still times when I target the crappies on lakes.
@@adamsmith3996 you're right! Probably not... and I like to support people i get value from! So I'd buy there crappie baits... Doesn't mean I don't support other people/companies I do and I support the heck outta these guys chasing the American Dream
Justin, Zataran's has a Blackened Seasoning mix that I one on baked orange roughly. I also add a bit of Tony Chaxherie's Creple cause I like it hot. Half melted butter and half EVOO as a dredge and than grill on a castbiron griddle at highest heat for blackened fish too. Use Cavendars Greek seasoning for Emmie's to start and because to cook hers first. Filets cook in a 1.5 to 2 min/side.
Thank you Emmie your hello is adorable. Awesome 👏🏻 WTG that was a huge crappie. Really like that hoodie you got on. The whole fish looked delicious. ~ Texas
Crappies down south here are some of the fattiest and biggest I’ve seen since living here. I remember living up north in Minnesota and the crappies up there are so frail and small. I see people pulling up 10 inches all day. Came down here and caught my biggest crappie real quick!
Man you guys have some serious slabs down there. MN's get hit so hard it's not easy to find them that size anymore unless you go up north. Great video!
I only use left side crank on a spinning reel because I cast with my right hand. I didn’t like switching back and forth. Now with my casting reels I use a right side crank. I can cast and switch to left hand during the cast so the transfer is quicker than a spinning reel.
Loved the video brother great content from fishing with Matt (always a good time go team nursing home) to explaining how to clean fish to cooking and spending time with the family awesome life brother ❤️🎣
I tend to use reels on either side, but i do prefer my crank to be on the left when i use a spinning reel while bass fishing to really drive the hooks in and have better control of the fish.
During the summer here in Nebraska, live minnows are the juice for finicky crappie. I have almost no luck using any kind of artificial once it gets hot.
I’ve been crappie fishing a lot out there this year and it is definitely an off year, they are stacked up as usual but getting them to bite is another story. Even with a minnow, they are finicky. I think the amount of bait that’s in the lake has them full!
Love that brother! Good stuff! Matt’s hook sets are hilarious 😂. But could you lmk or us when we can get one of those fourth July hat Matt had with the rubber front logo?
I use spinning real on the right side. Just comes from when I was young fishing with Zebco 33. So when I started throwing a spinning real it felt “right”
Every since you jigged that bucket mouth off that bed in that little sleugh/channel next to that dock I’ve been a big fan. I catch them slab crappie on Smith Lake in AL. Had the state record spot back in college and had it shake off the boat (Berkeley power bait June bug). If you’re ever in Alabama near Smith lake I live near Hames Marina I’d love to fish w ya. G. Swindle fishes there. Great videos 🔥
I'm right handed crank left hand. The right hand is the power arm for the fishing rod much easier to keep the fish under control.
I'm right handed, retrieve spinning left but learned baitcaster right hand retrieve. Left feels wrong now.
I’m a righty bit will in fact use a lefty cause with spinners it’s like a lefty caster
I’m the same way
Righty here. I crank left handed too. Always have.
Same for me . When my friends use my setups they are always like wtf 😂😂😂
Minnows will make a big difference on those summer finicky crappie.
"If you don't like catchin HOG JAMMERS like this then you ain't American"! Truer words never spoken! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

When’s googan gonna start coming out with crappie lures like if ya agree!!
This would be great
Man they got you guys hook, line and sinker ! Googan crappie baits will not be any better than the hundreds of crappie lures already on the market.

@@drosales43 well I have to respect that answer ! Happy Independence Day. God bless america !
@@adamsmith3996 happy 4th my man! God Bless America indeed!!
Crank is always on the right side for me.
Nothing like some golden crispy crappie
OSG is absolutely glowing! What a lucky guy.
"thought I had a giant, the trolling motor sucked in my line" LMAO
You guys are turning Manager Matt into a regular stick, yes that’s a compliment Mr Matt. Keep up the good work.
Catching slabs in the summer is the absolute best! 🔥🎣
I just rewatched your crappie vids yesterday😂 Love these vids!
I'm right handed. I like my reel handles on the left side. No switching the rod back and forth when casting.
Same here.
I think googan needs crappie line of baits !
Nothing like a fresh catch of crappies - well except a fresh catch of saugeye/walleye!!!
I kinda feel like Rackley is the quarterback of the Googan squad.
Well yeah, looking identical to Matt Ryan will do that for ya
You know the fishing is good when LFG starts sounding like Scooby Doo @ 2:15
Pink head and white plastic, the bomb-digady of Crappie baits!
Love the Crappie fishing Justin! Wear em out!! Tight lines brother.
Having some flashbacks of Matt grabbing the line again. Lol
We had a great weekend on the crappie grind as well this weekend. 20 between 3 fisherman most all 13"+ made for a great dinner!
That was a good time!!!! I don't think I have ever seen a crappie that big. I like when you do the catch, clean & cook.
PB Dangle nugget golden crispy?
Been ready for some LFG crappie catch clean cook videos!
Good to see you still out fishing.

Left hand reel on my spinning setups.
Congrats on the addition to the family! My wife’s due in October 🙏🏾
LFG: "You're going home."
Crappie: "You're right, see ya!"
I use spinning handle right side. Feel comfortable to me like my bait casters
Same 🎣
That B Roll before the fish cleaning was hilarious. Those sandals were 🔥🔥🔥
So i am used to Matt being the minimum Googan but lately he crushing it! Just messin' with you bro! Nice first catch and steady throughout the day!
Googan should make crappie jigs and lures
“Quit drinking that it’s weird” omg😂 had me laughing so hard 28:30
Richard Gene describes dead sticking best... "I'm going to make that jig do exactly what crappie like, which is nothing"
Another amazing video Sir
Thank you Emmie your hello is adorable. Awesome 👏🏻 WTG that was a huge crappie. Really like that hoodie you got on. The whole fish looked delicious. ~ Texas
Congrats on the mill!!!!
Hell yea, Matt needs to be in more videos!!!
So glad to see you back on Fork.. My favorite place and the first place I saw you at the Legends tournament in 2008 in your T A&M boat..

Those sandals are hilarious.

Matt's best line of the year so far! "Have they been activated?"
I tend to use reels on either side, but i do prefer my crank to be on the left when i use a spinning reel while bass fishing to really drive the hooks in and have better control of the fish.
Dang I was getting anxious with the length of time it took to get the dag gone NET! Lol
Hell of a dangle! 💪🏻
Great video as always !!!
Nice!! My PB Crappie is 16" caught from a small conservation pond.
Shout out to the Kingpin Matt my guy

An old fashioned LFG Crappie Haul yummy!!
JO JO IN VT 💕😄
Water with a little chalk?? Yum 😂
When he said sickle cell I lol'ed and said oh no please don't get cancelled hahahaha
Yall gotta get on the slip bobber game. Might have been great on a deadstick bite like that 🤷♂️

You need to build that outdoor grill station!
With casting rods I use both left and right hand rods. Spinning i use left hand crank

Nice catch! My PB Crappie is 17". Probably wont ever seen one that size again.

I always fish cranking with my right hand. Spinning or casting gear
You can switch the handle on the spinning reel to the other side. It's currently set up for a left-hander.
You had me at crappie . 🤟
No Dink Pink Baby! Guess Brads giving out my colors!! 🤷🏻♂️
I'm a lefty, I like controlling the rod with my left and reeling with the right
