  • Clam C560 pop-up hub thermal shelter review. The C560 is a thermal pop-up hub with 56 square feet of interior space and great features for a somewhat basic hub shelter. Here we review the set up, take down, and features of the 2022 Clam C560.

I bought the 560 after watching your great video and I'm very impressed with it. I won't force the zippers, but rather grab or push on the frame close to the zipper handle being moved to take pressure off it if need be.

It's a warm and easy shelter to set up. I really like it. Water is freezing up on local lakes here today so ice fishing will be upon us very soon.

Just found your channel. This brief but detailed video was done perfectly. I was going to purchase the anchor drill adapter until you showed using a quarter inch drill bit. Thant was great. You also sold me on this type of shelter versus the pullover. Your reasons are the same as mine. Does the shelter have a hole to put a gas line to a 20 pound tank or would you just run it under the skirting? Thanks for your time and can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos.

Thanks for the comments. There is not a place to run a gas line through the wall, so it would need to go under the skirt. If you're new to ice fishing, you might enjoy my Basics of Ice Fishing video too: ua-cam.com/video/KpISHNqoaLQ/v-deo.html

After seeing this I'm kinda wishing I had bought this model over mine. (Wouldnt trade my 1 person flip over for anything but I like this hub better than my hub) Great review.

It's not the fanciest hub but it has worked very well for us. A good balance between price and features.

I had this same hub for a season and by March all the zippers were junk so I threw it away and bought a x series the next season and never went back! I love it.

Interesting. So far the zippers are continuing to work well on mine.

I'm curious how well the Buddy heater heats it? I just bought this shelter. I have the Base Camp, Buddy, and tank top for 20lb lp heaters. I figured the Buddy would be good especially if I use the hose and run it from a 20lb tank outside.

With a standard Buddy Heater and a 1lb propane can, it heats up very quickly. I usually don't bother ice fishing without a shelter if it's below about 15*F, but with this shelter, it can be below zero outside and it's no problem.

Windows are to high up you have to get up to see your tip ups

You're right - it does require you to stand up at least partially to see out. It would be nice to be able to see tip ups from your seat for sure.
