The joy of pitching in cold, wet and windy conditions is not necertily the trick to the chosen site or the pitching of the tent, the real joy, in my opinion comes from entering your new home, for that is what it is, a home for a night or two. A place of protection from the rain, sleet or snow, the noise of the wind howling and billowing the tent, the sound of rain in that world beyond the thin walls of your castle. Laying out families items, each in their place, the stove lit giving little warmth in its duty of brewing you tea, coffee of comforting hot chocolate, simply gazing at nature from your cosy self made cave, trees grasses or heather bending to the wind, sheets of rain drenching all but you in your cocoon of safety. It never ceases to amaze me how comfortable and at ease I used to feel on such occasions. The solitude too gave the feeling of utter self reliance, let the storm do its worst, test my double pegging or double guy lines, test my will to defend my body and sole, test me. This is the real excitement of solo camping in difficult terrain or conditions. I am too old to scramble up mountains or cross difficult terrane, I now lay in my great four poster bed with the windows wide open but snug and cosy watching videos such as this. Brilliant photography and a brilliant understanding of what live is all about. Keep well and keep safe .

This is amazing work. But what people may not realize is the extremely hard work of filming it all. Camera setup. Filming a movie. Then you go back to pick up your camera and clean myself up again. And then edit it all together. I myself have recently started making videos about bushcraft, so I really understand how hard it is. A beautifully made video shows that you really love what you do. As a fellow wild camper living in Snowdonia, I love this video, and I usually hate wild camping videos as they tend to be more about showing off than what wild camping is all about, but this is perfect and captures the experience beautifully!

Great video, the dog seems to love camping in the wild as much as you, the dog stood up on the large rock viewing the terrain like The Lord of The Manor, such a well behaved dog and no music just the natural sounds made for great viewing, well done.

Excellent as always, thank you. Too easy though this one, I got your location in the first ten seconds! However, it took me back a lot of years and put a smile on my face. Never liked breaking camp in the rain, or pitching for that matter. The two great joys in backpacking, and cycle touring, pitching and breaking camp in the dry with a dry tent! However, I too like the sound of rain on my tent, sort of gives you a smug satisfaction. Strong wind is another matter though!
I thought you would guess it quickly! It’s not my most discreet pitch, but it’s always a reliable one with plenty of spots and fairly quick ascent for after work speed.

i think the beauty of camping and hiking is the nature, landscape, views, all the little places, weather etc. but if you see the interesting part in sitting in the tent and playing with all the tools...

Hello Amber, greetings! This is the first video on your UA-cam channel that I have just watched: I really liked it! Especially because there were no conversations and you could concentrate completely on what you were doing, the scenic, peaceful surroundings and, last but not least, the sounds of nature. In the end, I was able to completely switch off from the hustle and bustle and stress of everyday life and i could so wonderfully relax while watching you!

It looks like a movie where the main character is just living in harmony with nature, just surrounded by mountains windy grass.
asmr outside is sooo good, so many beautiful sounds to capture, I wonder why not more people do it.
Because most outdoor content is hard to produce. Heavily dependent on location and weather, way less accessible, less control, higher risk of damaging equipment both in travel to the location and even once installed. It's hard to get content creators off the couch these days.
Always pitch your tent so that the door is on the downwind side and that will make it much easier to cook

Very good video that captures the essence of the location. Brings great memories from a camping weekend in Snowdonia in April 86! Plenty of rain, wind and radioatctive fallout (Chernobyl was a few days before).
😁 Another nice calming video Amber, pity about the morning rain but the amazing location made up for it. Caddi certainly enjoyed it.
She certainly did. I actually enjoy camping in the rain these days, not so much in the winter, but these milder temperatures aren’t too bad at all. The sound of the rain on the tent to wake up to is lovely too.
@@AmberinEryri it is soothing as the rain hits the tent and to wakeup to, plus that fresh air smell you get. Like you say, it's not mid winter weather. It's nice to headout and setup in the dry though.. I don't mind heading home with wet gear either..😁🏕 It's waking up with no views and low cloud that gets me.. But you can qurantee you definitely have the place to yourself even heading home.. 😁 Take care and hope to see another video soon weather camping or out in the van 😁
