@MANCHESTER UNITED i know soccer is the biggest, but there are only 234 countries and dependencies combined, and to consider dozens of those countries are purely island chains or nations with an area of less than 1000 km^2, it will be safer to say that soccer is massive in roughly 3/4ths of the world
LB and Magic can’t do nothing wrong in my eyes. Such a cool duo.
you got that right!
Word!
The young guys today, while they keep getting told just how important Magic and Larry were to the resurgence of basketball in the '80's, really have no idea. When the Lakers and the Celtics were scheduled for a game, there were days and days and days of coverage before the game was even played, and once game time came around, but cities were essentially shut down for those few hours. It was something you just had to experience to even begin to believe.
@@juniorjohnson9509 Magic and Bird carried the torch started by Wilt and Russell. MJ carried it all the way to global fame.

The greatest Basketball Team ever assembled, and arguably the greatest team in the history of Competitive sport. Always get choked up by Magic and Bird’s friendship. Such savage competitors and fierce rivals on the court, and yet such genuine reverence and love for the other off the court. A truer example of sportsmanship I have yet to see. ❤️🏀🥇
I dont think this is awkward for Christian Laettner at all, he got the best seat in the house to see the greatest team in the history of sports. Not a bad reward for a stellar college career.
Couldn't agree more. He was on the bus with them. I would cherish that forever.
Netret0120 same here, i would be grateful if i played with them...
Earnest Evans If I were him I would've been there just for the stories these guys had to tell.
Great college career but we all know Shaq or Grant Hill should have been on that squad.
Nah man. Shaq was more talented for sure, but Laettner schooled him head to head. Grant Hill was only a sophomore in '92 and Laettner was better at that point. Laettner definitely deserved to be the college player selected. 4 final fours, player of the year, 2 national championships. In reality it should have been Isiah Thomas, but he was a dick that Jordan didn't want to play with or Dominique Wilkins who was out with I believe knee surgery. Maybe Joe Dumars, Mark Price, or Reggie Lewis? Olajuwon for sure, but he wasn't a citizen until '93.

I love David Stern waving off the request to standup. Stern really was the best commissioner of all time. Turned a failing league into an absolute monster.
Not to mention he was BLESSED with Larry Legend and Magic.. RIP Commish
Cutey Nurse IMO, he wasn’t blessed with Bird and Magic- he helped make the league about Bird and Magic. He would have done the same thing for Dr J and Kareem had he taken over years earlier. He was an unbelievable marketer and made the league about personalities. The one thing he did get lucky with was that Bird and Magic landed on the 2 most recognizable teams.
JohnnyDemarco I respect your opinion, but I just don’t agree. The anticipation of what Larry and Magic were going to do at the NEXT level was so high. Their feud stemmed from college and then transcended over to the BIG LEAGUES and they didn’t disappoint. Those 2 Icons TRANSFORMED and SAVED the NBA. No disrespect to the commish, but he was definitely BLESSED with those 2 guys coming into the league and continuing that rivalry and both having MAJOR success. MANY YEARS OF IT. For the record, before I saw Larry Bird play as a little girl and a true sports fan, Dr J was my FAVORITE basketball player... then emerged #33.. My FAVORITE player of ALL time.
the NBA was failing in 1984?? i guess magic, bird, and dr.j just wernt exciting enough.
joe blow league revenue went from 165 million when Stern took over to 5.5 billion when he retired. There were more than 20 teams outside of LA and Boston and the vast majority were playing games in front of near empty arenas. Yes, the league was failing.

Devon Canty "last but not least... Larry bird" even though he hadn't said Christian's name 😂
rileyjoh19 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 im crying he was hurt back there
MrFraiche look at 4:58 when magic finally realized laettner was up there. He stared him down for like five seconds😂😂😂
The best team assembled...1992 Olympic Dream Team!!!❤❤❤
Absolute excellence and having Magic and Larry speak was EVERYTHING!!
I love how Magic just talked about every single team member with their unique traits and history. Other athletes wouldve just said the names of their team member and call it a day
Bird still got that mentality that he had the best team ever🤣🤣🤣 legend
The 86 team arguably was.
2022 and still got goosebumps
as time goes on this will only become more legendary you couldn't put together a greater team then this
