Nothing runs like a deere bro. I love the old ones, they are work horses for sure. Thanks,
    J

Really cool to see! I love the sound of those old tractors. That must have been a bugger to start in the winter months by spinning that fly wheel. Too bad equipment today isn't built to last like that old A was built!

I think of that too. Many of these tractors were worked very hard, and they just don't quit. Easy to fix, durable as anything.

Nice old model A. I've got a 1952 model A John Deere, it was my dad's. It sat in the shed for 5 years and I just got it running 2 months ago and have been driving it around. I'm hoping to get it fully restored sometime in the next 2 years, depending on how things go.
One thing I wish my 1952 A had on it, is the high--low range lever. Mine's just got the straight 6 gears, no lever for high--low range. I'd like to find a 1948 or 1949 model A sometime that has that old style transmission, so I can have one of each.
    Great video!

The six slotted John Deere's do have their advantages. I now have a 1948 model A with the high-low range, and that sucker is fast in high gear, kind of dangerous actually. LOL

In the late 60s I cultivated hundreds of acres of corn with an all fuel using a 13 cent per gallon distillate rather than 19 cent gas. Just make sure the final min you shifted over to gasoline or it was impossible to start.

Are you sure that is a 1941 tractor? The manifold looks like one off of a later model. If you want to see what a 1941 john deere a manifold looks like, please whatch 1941 john deere a cold start

they were made to burn kerosene after being warmed up on gas, that was back when kerosene was cheaper than gas but now it costs more because jets use it all
