- 10 Things you may or may not want to know about Santa Teresa, Costa Rica! None of these are negative, please do not take them that way, I love this town and country and wouldn't change anything about it. Pura Vida!
These 10 Things are just for fun and are unique things that I have encountered living in a small surf town in Costa Rica. I believe these things are unique to the small towns and the whole of Costa Rica isn't the same.
Thanks for all the great videos about Costa Rica I’m Canadian and heading to Costa Rica early January on a solo trip. I’ve gotten some great ideas and tips on spot to check out from your video and looking forward to my trip to Costa Rica.
You’re very welcome! I’m glad it helps. It’s an amazing country, you’ll love it.
Uahahaha !!!! Beautifully done so funny thanks .😂
Thanks!!
Great videos Scotty! Looking forward to checking them all out.
Bro! Thank you! I appreciate that. Many more coming, we are having a blast!
The thicker the blanket, the more protection you have against the supernatural😂🤣
You know it’s true, though.
The sunsets are so good 🔥🙌🏼
Mucho gracias!
hahahaha. this is great. You nailed them all. The shit tickets are hard to get used to and we had to pick out some wet toilet paper the first day here because it’s such a habit. The dinner bill is a good one too. We just thought the girl at the Bakery hated us. You could have added #11 about travelling for gas. Welcome to the Jungle. Thanks for being a great host and tour guide!! Pura vida, buddy.
Ahahaha. The Bakery is great, $37 for 2 cookies, slice of cheesecake and an eclair. Glad to have you in town bro!
He could’ve added a 12th one that makes visitors aware that they should probably wear some kind of a mask or bandanna in the dry season went on a four wheeler or motorcycle because of the dust.
This isn’t Costa Rica. This is mostly about what it’s like to have an extended vacation in SANTA TERESA, which is a tiny surf/hippie town.
I know. Like I said above, it’s more about this town and it’s meant to be humours. Pura Vida.
I changed the title and thumbnail to represent the video better and not lump all of these things in Costa Rica as a whole. Again, no disrespect was meant toward CR at all.
@@cape2costa not at all man, no worries! Glad that you’re enjoying tiquicia! Pura vida, mi hermano!
Of course this is Costa Rica , santa Teresa is part of Costa Rica , different as the others parts of Costa Rica are ,, just enjoy ,,,, viva Heredia 🎉🎉but iam in Pto Vallarta Mexico , not possible to swing ,, the ocean is cold 😢

I have a dog born in Santa teresa and she just knows how to ride on a moto. I also have a blanket and it was like $300
Amazing. It’s in their dna.
Loved the toilet paper b roll haha
Lmao
Great video “poop tickets” 😂
Ahaha
Badass dogs
Bigtime!
The toilet paper thing is a local myth like the boogey man. The sewage system handles it just fine. That said, I would immediately install a bidet on any personal toilet, because the quality of local toilet paper is terrible, it irritates the anus, and crumbs. Also bidet is just awesome and can solve a lot of other anus issues.
I dig that hat, where’d you get it?
Thanks Jim! Video coming soon about these guys…amazing local brand.

I’ll be in Santa Teresa for three weeks starting June 1. My daughter has lived there for three years now.
Thanks brother
I’ve been told to wash eggs before use as they are not cleaned like back in Canada. (They don’t wash eggs and thus can store them unrefrigerated) I usually wash my eggs and then keep them in the fridge.
Thanks man. Have not had any issues so far! Fingers crossed.
Hellooooo
Hola!
Most of these things you are mentioning also depend on where you live in Costa Rica... what you are saying is mostly true for small beach / mountain tourist towns.
You can get blankets on most bigger stores like Walmart. There are cooler places in Costa Rica
Bigger gym chains do ask to wear shoes.
You should follow the same rules as in any other country for parking, just the police is doing more important things.
In regards to the toilet paper, most small towns don't have a sewage system, so every house / complex needs to build a septic tank. The paper would fill the tank with time so people avoid throwing the paper to the toilet.
Absolutely! I did mean to mention that it was more directed toward this town and small towns in general and also, no criticism whatsoever. I love it here and wouldn't change anything!
I changed the title and thumbnail to represent the video better and not lump all of these things in Costa Rica as a whole. Again, no disrespect was meant toward CR at all.
All good!
Hello! the bills are of different sizes so that blind people can identify them by size
That’s amazing! I had no idea.
I would love the whole barefoot thing there ❤
The best!
You can’t pump your own gas
It’s great that you’re still in the honeymoon phase. But the parking is not funny- it’s not only inconvenient but flat dangerous. Pray you or your kid don’t need an ambulance when the parking has already reduced the barely 2 lane street into one and God help ya if there’s a truck unloading at Super Ronny’s
Oh believe me, I agree. It’s crazy at times and now with the road construction and traffic delays the risk of an emergency vehicle not getting through is high.
It’s not that love the way parking works, it’s just that it’s not going to change, ever. You can either try your best or not. I’m still shocked that people are not struck by vehicles daily. It’s madness.
Please don't clean yourself with toilet paper alone. Bring a container of wipes. Grab ONE wipe, wet it, put it over the toilet paper, commence clean, discard in trash. Alternatively, pray your place has a bidet.
Good plan as well. I’m a fan of the one wipe charlie’s! Good advice.
