@@elin_it's actually good for your skin to have that exfoliation. It's not like it's sandpaper. However I can see your point with say a loofah or scrub gloves. Using those everyday can be too much on the skin. But you definitely need some form of daily (minimal) exfoliation as soap alone isn't enough. Side note: as an American who doesn't own a bidet, I don't feel clean unless I hit my booty crack with a wash cloth 🤷🏾♀️

If you don't use a plastic/natural loofah/Moroccan loofah/silicon scrubbers/African net sponge/korean bath towel/exfoliating glove/washcloth, you musty as hellll
Washcloths also help with exfoliation and the movement helps circulation in the skin ( your body's largest organ 🙂). Esp in the morning when you wake up. 👍🏾
Weirdly, in Scotland and Ireland, both of them, it is VERY hard to get a washcloth in your hotel room. I had to make a special request at All the hotels for a washcloth.
I experienced cultural shock in Colombia. No washcloths in any of the hotels I’ve been to here. I even asked for them in the best broken Spanish I could and ended up with a bunch of full-sized towels 😂

Yes, we are real! I have over 14 of those and I use one per day, to wash my face and to scrub my body. When I have used 7 of them, I do a wash, with all other towels and whites. They are an essential part of my hygiene.
No lie, had a white roommate in college when I lived in a dorm. Since it was a dorm, we had to use communal showers. He only ever left the room with his head and shoulder’s shampoo and a towel to go shower. Same guy would eventually ask me why I used lotion on my skin 🤦🏾♂️

We also squat in public restrooms. We don't sit on the toilet. Even in hospital restrooms. I was shocked during urinalysis duty when I noticed that every melanated woman squated and everyone else sat directly on the toilet like they were at home. Swear to God you really do gotta teach some grown people how to bathe. Apparently it isn't all that intuitive. My brother was like ten(obviously not grown but old enough) and I noticed his hair still stank to high heaven after a shower but he insisted he'd washed it. I told him to put some trunks on and show me how he did it. He dead ass put the shampoo on his head and immediately put his head under the water, zero lather, then looked at me like I was dumb. I said BOY! Legit had to scrub his head for him just to show him. (We had some neglectful parents, but damn I'd always figured some things would just be common sense)

@@correctandsexyaboutit the intuitive part got me thinking for a while and i was about to agree but then i remember how it is with us. in my place, infants to children up to maybe age 8 or something were bathed by adults until the children themselves start to learn embarrassment and begin bathing themselves, so that is definitely how we learned to do it growing up. not intuition then (at least not always) but rather things gradually picked up from the adults in a home. perhaps your parents’ neglect really did play a part. it sounded like you have been more of the parent to your sibling than your actual parents.

Scrub from the face bowl first. Get all the soap off. Then go to the shower. Scrubbing and rinsing first gets me very clean and keeps me safe in the shower. I started that when I turned 80..😊😊❤

I'm a washcloth person. But i can't figure out how people use those HUGE washcloths that are almost like using a small hand towel (usually coordinated color and pattern with the bath towels). They're hard to wring out. I buy a multipack of smaller cloths and use instead. :)

I don’t rub the soap all over my body, I lather up my hands and then use my soapy hands to lather my body up. I live in a high humidity area so every time I try to use a washcloth or a loofah it is like instantly moldy, it’s gross to me to deal with them. I do use the Korean exfoliating cloths occasionally though bc they seem to dry out quick enough not to get moldy.

"Exfoliating clothes"(not wash clothes) air out and gently remove dead skin. Using exfoliating clothes allow moisturizer and fragrance to adhere to the skin. Terry clothes are better than using nothing at all. Be blessed. No judgement zone.

Weirdly, in Scotland and Ireland, both of them, it is VERY hard to get a washcloth in your hotel room. I had to make a special request at All the hotels for a washcloth.
Hotels provide these small towels for hands or face usually, but you can use them as you see fit, of course.

Yes, we are real! I have over 14 of those and I use one per day, to wash my face and to scrub my body. When I have used 7 of them, I do a wash, with all other towels and whites. They are an essential part of my hygiene.
I stack more washcloths than I do cash.
No lie, had a white roommate in college when I lived in a dorm. Since it was a dorm, we had to use communal showers. He only ever left the room with his head and shoulder’s shampoo and a towel to go shower. Same guy would eventually ask me why I used lotion on my skin 🤦🏾♂️

My brother was like ten(obviously not grown but old enough) and I noticed his hair still stank to high heaven after a shower but he insisted he'd washed it. I told him to put some trunks on and show me how he did it.
He dead ass put the shampoo on his head and immediately put his head under the water, zero lather, then looked at me like I was dumb. I said BOY!

@@correctandsexyaboutit the intuitive part got me thinking for a while and i was about to agree but then i remember how it is with us. in my place, infants to children up to maybe age 8 or something were bathed by adults until the children themselves start to learn embarrassment and begin bathing themselves, so that is definitely how we learned to do it growing up. not intuition then (at least not always) but rather things gradually picked up from the adults in a home.
perhaps your parents’ neglect really did play a part. it sounded like you have been more of the parent to your sibling than your actual parents.

That goes way way back due to lack of indoor plumbing and buckets of hot water were use to fill up tubs and barrels ...if y'all think this was bad try using a chamber pot aka slop jar to go to the bathroom at night cause you don't want to deal with the cold or possible snakes while going to the out house 🤷🏾....and they would just rub the soap on their body no cloth at all while we were told to get that rag and scrub 🤣🤣 ...
I'm a washcloth person. But i can't figure out how people use those HUGE washcloths that are almost like using a small hand towel (usually coordinated color and pattern with the bath towels). They're hard to wring out. I buy a multipack of smaller cloths and use instead. :)

I don’t rub the soap all over my body, I lather up my hands and then use my soapy hands to lather my body up. I live in a high humidity area so every time I try to use a washcloth or a loofah it is like instantly moldy, it’s gross to me to deal with them. I do use the Korean exfoliating cloths occasionally though bc they seem to dry out quick enough not to get moldy.

I use my wash cloth for “sensitive” parts and gloves for the rest of the body and armpits 😅. I don’t know how people live out there without these

I learned that in The Army. In basic we have to display our towels and wash cloths in port wall lockers. All the Black dudes bought extra ones from the PX. Whites boys didn’t 😂

"Exfoliating clothes"(not wash clothes) air out and gently remove dead skin. Using exfoliating clothes allow moisturizer and fragrance to adhere to the skin. Terry clothes are better than using nothing at all. Be blessed. No judgement zone.
