Thank you for this video. Every year for Christmas I tell people I don't want gifts but would prefer to create memories. The world needs more simplicity and modesty.
Friends of mine grew up in neighbouring villages in Congo. They had the most wonderful Christmas traditions instead of store bought rhings, they shared what they had. If their neighbour needed corn, then someone would gift them corn . If another neighbour needed a blanket, someone would give them one. That way, by the end of Christmas day, everyone in the village had received a gift. All done in secret!
Loved this very much. Even while not being Amish our country farm Christmases were very much like this. I loved the old fashion things of those Christmas gatherings, looking very forward every year to it.
I really enjoyed watching this video, just simple and basic all homemade and skillfully made. Meeting the needs of others. Takes me back to my childhood helping my mom with everything. Thank you for sharing this video. ❤
We have a lot of Amish in my area and they do not use electricity. They definitely do not allow video taping of their lifestyle nor having their picture taken.

The old order Mennonites said that Christmas is on January 6th when the new order Mennonites say December 25 is Christmas. my dad comes from the old order Mennonites. My aunt married a new order Mennonites. My dad moved in to help his sister and brother in law after they got hurt in a farm accident the trucker hit a big hole and threw over braking my uncle two legs and his back as my dad moved out of his old order Mennonite parents house and moved in with his sister New order Mennonite home so can help her out on the farm. I can tell you not easy my dad fell in love with my English mom who was his next door neighbor three weeks later they got married my parents came up with the 25 days of Christmas and they kept the Mennonite day of Christmas on January 6th. On December 25th we spent Christmas with our English family then we spent January 6th with our Mennonite side of the family.

Good. We normal Christians took our upholstered furniture to an upholsterer and there it was refurbished. For money, of course. The Amish do everything themselves. We only sewed and darned and were economical with everything. These are - so I believe - basic features of a Christian character. Renewable energy also comes from the Amish and from all ancient Christians. That's where the Receiclyng comes from. I still remember the mill wheel that kept the mill running with water. Everything was repaired and used again. And I didn't have many toys either. But - I admit - I had 2 dolls, a doll's pram and a cradle. Well, yes. My parents have already spoiled me. Nevertheless - we owe a lot to the Amish. Thank you for remembering the original Christianity.
Amen and Amen. That is the Spirit of Christmas. Not the tinsel, the lights, the trees, the gifts etc. It is the One who shed His prescious blood for us so we won't spend eternity in hell. Thank you my Lord Jesus Christ.

That’s the kinda Christmas I would love ( not Amish ) ! I love homemade gifts , the best , it’s something I would relish forever if I could ! I don't think anyone celebrating a holiday and loving their family no matter how they choose to do it is wrong. Just different. This guy makes Americans seem horrible and I'm sorry that's not the case it's just traditions and how you were raised. This is how traditions come about. Different doesn't mean wrong or right just different and everything has pros and cons.
The one thing you left out that would have made this video a hundred percent was actual video with sound, the sound of singing Amish, instead of all narration.
I went to a farm to help load hay, and I noticed the factory farming and saw the animals tie up, chained up and if you drove by all you’d see was a barn but inside there’s elevated chicken wire where the chickens walk, cement stalls for the newborn calf’s, horses just tied up, i walked up to pet them and 2 of them come up to me and stated “God supplied the animals for their use” I called the ASAP a few times but nothing was ever done, I could see those animals wanted help. I’ll Never forget it🐂💔
Not all of us are greedy. I make a lot of my Christmas decorations and I no longer buy things for people, rather make them. I bake and cook and we donate and give to others. We do what we can. Personally I don't believe Christ's birth was on Dec 25th but for me it's a time to rest, give thanks and be with people. I would explain more but it seems like you were just putting others down for what they do. Not all of us go to church and doesn't mean we don't have our own ways. I tried to warch the whole video but it just seems like you weren't teaching us what they do but more putting the rest of us down
the Lord Jesus confided to the late Vassula Ryden that it hurt Him very much that the West and orthodox celebrate Christmas on different days. Unity is very important
Why are the wise men shown at the stable? The Wise men did not see the Christ child until day 3 after his birth when he was I a house. Read Your Bible Mathew chapter 2
Thank you so much for sharing this video I mean it's as accurate as I know although I don't celebrate Christmas or Thanksgiving I believe it's a pagan holiday has nothing to do with the birth of Christ or worshiping God but I think this video is very interesting and I really appreciate you sharing it may God bless you in many ways ✝️🙏💯❤️
NEITHER date is the actual birth of Christ. If you use scripture, you can actually calculate within a few weeks timeframe from when Zachariah's time in the temple was, when Elizabeth became pregnant, Mary visiting in Elizabeth's 5th month and from there can calculate within a few weeks of Jesus' birth - which would have been about the time of the Feast of Booths or Sukkot, know in Jewish idioms as "God With Us", where God comes down and joins humanity (fitting dress rehearsal every year for his actual arrival). That would have been in the late October/early September timeframe. December 25th was actually a man made date because the pagans were all celebrating Saturnalia at the time and the Christians felt left out of festivities.
Our church always said Jan 6th was jesus real bday! If you go thru bible read detail of jesus birth an surrounding at time of Jan 6th. It does line up.
I think it’s funny how they celebrate on January Sixth, which is the same day that Ukrainian orthodox Christmas is celebrated with the same kind of pagan rituals, general, rituals, and Christmas rituals
Christmas has become so plastic and commercialized, I don't like it anymore. I am sick of the way people put santa and presents etc., ahead of the real reason that Christians celebrate Christmas. We do it to remember the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. NOT for the gifts, the money etc. It is sickening how people have made it a get rich scheme and that is all how they look at it.
Their celebration sounds meaningful and beautiful. I love it. But you sound terribly negative. I’m Sorry someone ruined your English Christmas. We have a lot to learn from the Amish but they have their flaws like everyone else.
Not really that fascinating hence the 12 days of Christmas we celebrate from the 25th, (basically hi-jacked the pagan festival) but it ends with Epiphany, isint it interesting how the period around Epiphany is not only a Christian celebration, Jesus is a central figure in all the religions, but only one believe he is the son of God
We don't know when Christ was born, so why celebrate it at all?! Amish men remind me of rugged rabbi's so why not celebrate Hanukkah instead of pagan holidays?! traditions shouldn't leave you bankrupt!
Thank you for this video. Every year for Christmas I tell people I don't want gifts but would prefer to create memories. The world needs more simplicity and modesty.

Like. A. Colt
Their celebration sounds meaningful and beautiful. I love it. But you sound terribly negative. I’m Sorry someone ruined your English Christmas. We have a lot to learn from the Amish but they have their flaws like everyone else.
Amish use buttons? Where does this information come from?
Yeah, because the whole world‘s wrong and the Amish communities right
Happy Holidays
Orthodox stick to the old Christmas 6th January you cant just change dates to suit
the north pole is gone .. santa is from the fireplace of hell ... saint nicking to much has krampus friends from hell ..
I meant to say old order Amish people do not celebrate Christmas
Lol I think I'm Amish, or should be
The Amish are not the only ones who celebrate January. Seriously educate yourself on this before you post
Meanwhile, your video is full of ads, encouraging people to buy stuff so you make money off it
It’s you tube that places the ads
I don't like the way they abuse animals, especially horses.
We don't know when Christ was born, so why celebrate it at all?! Amish men remind me of rugged rabbi's so why not celebrate Hanukkah instead of pagan holidays?! traditions shouldn't leave you bankrupt!
Wow a black person!
I like only wearing a few colors, everything in my closet is either black white cream, gray.
