    Good for beginners. I am no longer a beginner. But I would be very interested in a sequel to this video, on PARTIAL mashing. Thanks and well done.

    I've used both and had a good experience brewing with either choice, however i found the dme produced a slightly thinner beer while the liquid malt gave a better body and ramped up the malty flavour. I used hopped light dme in an ipa and the liquid malt in a hybrid lager.

      Thanks for letting us know, i do like the simplicity of LME , can’t say I’ve noticed a flavour difference tbf

    I don’t know if it was covered, are LMEs the same as used in the extract kits?

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  Рік тому

      Yes the only difference is the liquid malt extract in beer kits will usually contain some isomerised hop extract also

    I find it's easier to add all your dry goods(except yeast obviously) to the fermenter before the liquids. Get it in there nice and dry, then add warm or hot water.

      I presume that means using spraymalt in a no boil kit is fine or would it benefit from a quick stove top boil to sterilize / sanitize the DME?

      @@aidanoconnor7299 Yeah do it on the stove. My first spraymalt I just did it in the no boil fermenter with warm water. HUGE regret lol. Took so long to fish out the lumps to melt in a pot.

    I've just brewed my first time with the Extra Light LME. I wanted to ask if the LME is made from one base malt, or multiple base malts? I wondered if it was possible to call my brew a SMASH brew if I used EL LME only and 1 hop variety? Thanks for the uploads too 👍

    • @Geterbrewed
      @Geterbrewed  Рік тому +1

      It’s made from the same batch of malt so yes it could be called a SMASH

      @@Geterbrewed Excellent thanks, although I think the term SMESH should be coined here now if it hasn't already 😄
