thanks for the video thats awesome. I was reading an old brewing book and they describe a method for 5 gallon batches like this; It's okay to brew with about 2-2.5 gallons and put the remaining 3 gallons, or so of cool water into sanitized carboy. You can add the hot /warm wort into the cool 3 gallons of water without running the risk of shock to your glass carboy and exploding things. It also saves you a step

Whoa thanks, was about to start my first brew and did not feel like like going to the store of a bag of ice, was wondering if this wasnt the simpliest solutions.

Once bottled, does it have to be refrigerated or can you store some in a pantry? I'd like to do 5 gallon batches but don't have space for that many bottles and don't plan on kegging just yet.

I think your suppose to refrigerate after two weeks

Hey Christopher, once you bottle your beer you need to keep it in a dark place and the temperature should be around 62-72 degrees F. After two weeks of conditioning you can then put the beers in your fridge. My fridge doesn't have enough room for that many beers either so I put in 10 beers or so at a time.

    This isn't even real beer.
It's for the desperate who can't afford to make proper beer from grain. Yuk
