    The problem is: insurance companies.
    50 years ago the usual $1k max was applicable.
    Here in 2021, it is still only usually a $1k max even though dental costs, ( with the new technologies) is 100x what is was 50 years ago...
    How do insurance companies get away with that?

    Try calling local dentists to see if they offer any in house financing, essentially a loan with them. Also, let them know what you likely need done. In my case it was an extraction and my HMO which I've had for twenty years has only off site oral surgeons sixty miles away. Many dental corporate groups are like that now and their dentists will only do a very simple extraction. I found an excellent local dentist who extracted the tooth at a reasonable cost and gave me a payment plan. Good luck to all in your search to find out what works for your situation.

    You make it sound so easy. Usually put the research on the consumer, like we know. And it never covers well enough. And those maximums.....$1000 to $2000? A crown or willing is close to that now. Implants are around $8,000 each. I pay $504 a year in premiums for a $1500 maximum.

    • @iHealthBrokers
      @iHealthBrokers  3 роки тому +1

      It really can be SO expensive when you have to have major work. There are actually plans available that have much higher maximums that may help if you need major work. For example, Nationwide offers a plan with a $5,000 maximum (much better than $1000!). It can be overwhelming though, which is why we recommend working with a broker.

      @@iHealthBrokers wow, I didn't know there were insurances with such a high maximum. How much would the monthly payment be??? Might be worth it if you are getting a lot of work done. But with implants, you have to wait several months in between (especially if you need a bone graft first like I do, due to a congenitally missing tooth). If the monthly payment is too high, I feel like you would probably end up paying up to the max by the time all of the work was done (easy way to have your own kind of "payment plan" though ... I guess lol)

    Read about Dental Discount Plans combined with a Health Savings Plan compared to just a Dental Insurance Plan - you might be quite surprised at how much more value you accumulate over the years keeping and managing your own emergency fund for dental coverage. HSAs also carry greater tax incentives for potentially greater tax refunds compared to dental insurance expenses.

    • @iHealthBrokers
      @iHealthBrokers  Рік тому +2

      Dental discount plans (although not technically health insurance) can certainly be a great option! The main problem is finding a dentist that you like that participates. And you're right about HSAs. If they work for your family, there are definitely some potential financial incentives. Oh, I sympathize so much! You need a dental plan with no waiting period and a high plan limit. Some dentists may even allow you to submit a primary and secondary dental plan. This may seem like a lot, but if you need a lot of work it could actually save you a lot of money! Please give us a call: 888-410-0344. We can look at all of the options available in your area to find you the best possible plan for your situation. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention a dental savings plan. For that, you would first need to find a dentist who offers is, but it could be another option.

    Wich one covers more major... like surgery? Wich one is the best insurance for high costs at first?

    • @iHealthBrokers
      @iHealthBrokers  3 роки тому

      Many DHMOs do NOT have an annual max. This means that even if you have extensive work, you'll just be responsible for copays but you most likely won't hit a max. The downside is that your dentist MUST BE in network otherwise there is no coverage. PPOs will allow you to see many more dentists and have coverage. However, they WILL have an annual max. If you have extensive services needed, you may hit that max (and be responsible for the rest of the bill entirely). However, there are plans with higher maximums. So, if you need a lot of work, either A) find a dentist that accepts your plan and choose a DHMO plan with no max or B) choose a PPO with a higher annual max.

    Hi. My wife and I are looking into getting dental insurance. We don’t have any major services needed, just cleaning, things like that. We recently received a quote from Cigna. They have 3 plans: 1) paying $80 a month, maximum is $1,500. Deductible is $150 per family. This cover orthodontia as well. 2) paying $65 a month. $1000 is the maximum. $150 per family deductible. No orthodontics covered. 3) paying $35 a month. Just covers preventive care, nothing else. Do these sound like good plans? We have no kids, so it’ll be for just 2 people. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you 😊

So, it doesn't matter how you enroll, that commission is already included and it will always go to someone. Some brokers will charge an additional fee, but many do NOT. Your plan limit (maximum) should be one of the numbers listed in your summary of benefits. Most plans max somewhere around the $1000 range.

    Anything on dentemax ? How is that insurance company

    • @iHealthBrokers
      @iHealthBrokers  2 роки тому

      DenteMax is actually a network, not an insurance company (carrier). It's not something that can be purchased as an individual. However, your carrier may contract with them to provide a dental network. So it depends on the carrier, not DenteMax itself per say.

    What’s an affordable dental insurance plan for college students in Texas?

    • @iHealthBrokers
      @iHealthBrokers  3 роки тому

      Emily, there are many. A few factors that would influence our recommendation are if the insured already has coverage they are losing, if they need any major work done soon, and if they have a dentist they are eager to keep seeing.

      Unfortunately we do not... We do have dental plans with much higher maximums to cover the rest of the costs. Feel free to call if you'd like to discuss options: 888-410-0344. Best of luck and so sorry about the tooth ache!

    What is a dental savings plan

    • @iHealthBrokers
      @iHealthBrokers  2 роки тому

      Although it can be easy to confuse the two, discount dental plans are not the same as insurance. You'll pay a fee for access to your plan's dental discount card. If your dentist accepts your discount plan, you'll receive anywhere from a 10%-60% discount on services provided. It can be a great way to save a little money on dental care BUT it can be difficult to find a dentist who accepts a dental savings plan. Thanks for your question!

    Im being told dental INS is like a grocery store coupon,,,,,, dentists charge so much its insane !!!! INS dont help just save $1500 a year thats what they pay OH ,,,,,,and they pick and choose what theyll pay just save your own money its the same as "dental" INS
    It should not cost the same as a car or house to fix your teeth smh

    • @iHealthBrokers

      That can be one of the major struggles with a PPO. Although you have way more flexibility, you're more beholden to what a dentist chooses to charge.

    Will someone just give me a damn Dentist company. I’m 66 have Medicare, which has no dental. I didn’t wanna switch my Medicare because I get another disability pension and I thought maybe it would affect it. I need a dental plan and a dentist. All the reviews I read online are complaints about this and that does anyone know of a good dental plan. A dental plan alone or a dental vision and eyeglass please help thank you. Anthony

      We can't really help with a dentist recommendation, but we do have some good PPO options that will allow you to see dentists both in and out of network. Feel free to give us a call at 888-410-0344. Thanks for your comment!
