Thanks for posting this! I used to live in a little red house on 7th and East Cliff 30 years ago. They used to dredge the sand bar when I first moved there, to prevent the break. When the sand bar would form, the harbor patrol would chase everyone out of the water. If I ever hit the lottery, I’m moving back. Thanks again and Stay safe out there!

Nice thanks for the memories! Remember back in the early seventies it broke constantly across the harbor mouth. Don't know if it still does. 😎

Looks like a difficult take off but I love harbour surfing. When U turn around and C MR in Newcastle Australia U no the harbour is the pick of the day.

Interesting footage, yet very small and inconsequential. At size when it you could take off deep and it would either double or triple up, then you had the Real Harbor. Ask Kevin Reed, Bill Mulcoy, myself and many others. I will never forget one particular wave that had so much G-force sucking up the face that my fins broke free and I was only held up by a vacuum sucking me forward as the wave accelerated and made an ominous grinding sound. Then the barrel started to bend and I found myself in a deep dark chamber thinking I was toast, when suddenly it snapped open to reveal a little hole off in the distance. As it opened more I could hear screaming , then see a few faces looking back at me and finally got spit out on to the shoulder...

has the bank changed or is it a smaller swell cuz in other footage the wave breaks right into the bay
