- Keanna Miller grew up on the Westside of Santa Cruz, CA surfing the world renown surf spot Steamer Lane. As a goofy footed surfer she has crafted a lethal back hand attack, making her a competitor among local pros and surf competitions all over the coast. Her surfing is inspiring to watch, but what she has to say about the Santa Cruz surf community would make any surfer proud to be apart of Santa Cruz.
I was also a goofy foot in Santa Cruz. I've almost never surfed frontside.
Super cool. Keanna's a real inspiring figure to the scene serving up the stoke. She's simply admirable for her love and positivity. Well done showcase Mr. C Stevens.

Good for you, you are to be admired for following your dream. One area I would modestly suggest is to watch videos of your talking, and reimagine them without you using the word "like" when employed as a cadence tool...Great speakers such as Obama never use this phonetic device, and their diction is worlds more powerful as a result of the absence of "like". I was a Sunny Cove guy in the 70s, a Pleasure Point guy and Lane guy in the 80s, and a 3-MIle guy in the 90s as I aged and needed uncrowded conditions to get my quota of waves. I now am retired from surfing with a killer view of Mavericks from my deck.
I get the feeling that locals treat Keanna as a kid sister and protect her accordingly....
Like they say, you want to be the best, a champion. Only 1 in 10,000 make it and you look too stiff
